I really should do that again sometime. I've got my top 3 in order (Now I'm Here, Was It All Worth It, Dead On Time) but the 27 following I have no idea. I know which songs, but the order...gawd... Incidentally, about 18 of your 30 wouldn't be on mine. Some only just, some a long way away. And yeah, TMOTBQ is bloody brilliant. Still makes you go "What the hell was that?" every time you hear it, but the musical variation in it, the vocal harmonies, the piano work...bloody ridiculously awesome.

Dead On Time was actually in my 20s range, but I forced myself to kick it out in favor of Let Me Live (or Brighton Rock, I don't remember). Hm, I seem to have left Don't Stop Me Now off... meh, I prefer Heaven For Everyone anyway.
Jeez, there's two Jazz songs out in favor of Made In Heaven. Heh.
My personal favorite part of Black Queen are those two lines Roger says (makes you think, "Wait? Was that Roger?") and the short guitar solo that follows after. The only downside is that the final verse segues straight into Funny How Love Is, which really sucks when you're trying to listen to BQ alone ("Forever! AHAHAHAAAHAHAAAAAA-").

I prefer the piano flourish just before the final verse - it all kinda slows and then dun-dun dun-dun-dun-dun.... Somehow - I don't know how - I managed to figure out what my top 30 would be. A lot has changed since the first one I did a few pages back, I'll tell you that much... 30 | I Want It All | 15 | Flick Of The Wrist | 29 | Great King Rat | 14 | Modern Times Rock 'N' Roll | 28 | Gimme The Prize | 13 | Made In Heaven | 27 | Dancer | 12 | Hammer To Fall | 26 | Spread Your Wings | 11 | Fight From The Inside | 25 | I Was Born To Love You | 10 | Let Me Entertain You | 24 | Ride The Wild Wind | 9 | Tie Your Mother Down | 23 | Rock It (Prime Jive) | 8 | Headlong | 22 | Tear It Up | 7 | Ogre Battle | 21 | Liar | 6 | The March Of The Black Queen | 20 | One Vision | 5 | Sail Away Sweet Sister | 19 | If You Can't Beat Them | 4 | I Can't Live With You (1997 Retake) | 18 | Father To Son | 3 | Dead On Time | 17 | Death On Two Legs | 2 | Was It All Worth It | 16 | Sleeping On The Sidewalk | 1 | Now I'm Here |
I'd say that only about the top 10 are in some sort or order. The rest (plus another 15 or so) would change order probably every second day. I'm fickle like that.

Mmmm, now we have IWIA on opposite ends of the lists. Heh. Interesting how Gimme the Prize has slipped down on your's. I just booted it off mine because I realized that I only listen to it for that bagpipe-guitar solo. Funnily enough, I heard Sidewalk and Fight From the Inside for the first time a few hours after finishing my list, and SOTS would definately be up there on my favorites (and maybe FFTI). It's a very good song, considering that it was recorded in one take. Plus I sound just like Brian when I sing it. ;D Good to see Death On Two Legs there too. I love that one's lyrics...

There's a lot that's changed on my list since last time...I'd assume a majority of the changes are due to overfamiliarity - I mean, I've heard stuff like Don't Stop Me Now thousands of times, whereas TMOTBQ etc still have that 'newness' feel to me. But there were a good 15 songs that I could have put in there and felt the same way...

RIP, Mr. Mercury. Without your music, I'd probably be going slightly mad...
Going to see if I can order Made In Heaven or one of Fred's solo albums today... then I'll probably watch Live at the Bowl or something.

*Ressurection!* And with that marvelous segway, I gotta ask; is Brian's solo work any good? I've heard a few songs from Back To The Light (Ressurection, for example...), and I can get the album cheap off Amazon. Is it worth it? Its a very heavy album if you mean Back to the Light, with some good work, I appreciate it but unfortunatley I don't feel it through the whole of my body like with most other stuff. Although it does have some good stuff, "Driven By You" is my favourite song on the album and I think his verion of "Too Much Love Will Kill You" is more easy listening vocally (musically its the same as Freddy on the lead). I'd say go for it, its different to the Queen albums, its more like a Led Zeppelin album, if you think that "Hammer to Fall" is heavy wait until you hear this! Well, I got BTTL for Christmas thanks to the wonderful music kiosks at Sanity ( ;D ) and I pretty much agree with Jaquin's post here. There's a few very heavy songs on there - Back To The Light, Love Token, Resurrection and Rollin' Over especially, a fair few ballads (I'm still not sure which version of Too Much Love Will Kill You I prefer) and a couple other ditties. The overwhelming feeling I got from the album was that it showed how good a vocalist Freddie was, perversely - Brian's voice was overshadowed by the guitars in ways Freddie would never have done. It's a decent enough album, I prefer the heavier stuff to the ballads (which is my taste as a rule, doesn't matter the band), and I got a lot od Led Zep/early Queen feel out of it as well. If you haven't got it yet, Penguin, I reckon it'd be well worth the investment.

Meh, I spent all my Christmas money on an X-Box 360, so I'm broke until my birthday. But it'll be a top priority for sure. I'm dying to hear Resurrection again...
In the meantime, I've made a discovery: Made In Heaven is the best Queen album ever. Period. Every song is sheer gold. I got it (and Hot Space, which, ironically, almost completely sucks) for Christmas, and I can't stop listening to it...

A 360 when you could have got a Wii? Well, each to their own I suppose... I wouldn't go so far as to say MIH is their best album, but it's definitely in the top 5. And I reckon Hot Space is a lot better than some of its contemparies (The Game, The Works and A Kind Of Magic are all pretty lame efforts comparatively speaking).

Believe it or when typing this post, I spent a good five minutes or so trying think of Queen song with birthday-related lyrics. Unfortunately, I failed. Hmm...I don't think there are any, unless you count Thank God it's Christmas, which of course celebrates the birth of Santa. They never really did any holiday/religious themed songs that I can think of...going through the back catalogue in my mind, can't think of anything like that. Bugger. :-\

pardon if this is old news. Brian May confirmed through his website that Queen + Paul Rodgers will begin producing a new studio album beginning in October, to be recorded at a heretofore 'secret location'.
and also though this may be interesting: in 2006, the Greatest Hits album was found to be Ireland and United Kingdom's all-time best selling album, with sales upwards of 5,407,587 copies, over 604,295 more copies than its nearest competitor The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Also their Greatest Hits II album came in seventh with sales upwards of 3,631,321 copies.

Both are up there in age already, but I'm psyched for the new album. I know Queen ain't really Queen without Fred, but what's really exciting is that Brian (I think it was) said the album was being made so they'd have some new material to preform, which means we're in for a tour in the future. Shame he's also confirmed there'll be no 2007 tour, but it'll be well worth the wait.

I'll have 2 admit myself, Don't Stop Me Now is one hell of a song. It was even the song that reintroduced me to Thomas last year, and I couldn't hold it in any longer. The song even fits perfectly with Sonic the Hedgehog.

Don't Stop Me Now is one of the songs that never gets old for me. That was my song choice for my very first Thomas music vid. I wasn't too keen on the music vid for that particular song, however. It only had the members on the stage performing the song and nothing else. My love for Don't Stop Me Now actually originated from gym class. In my school, we have to run a seven minute jog inside with music playing and last year, Don't Stop Me Now was one of the most frequently played songs.
