Bought a new batch of songs last night: Tear It Up The Invisible Man Sheer Heart Attack It's Late Death on Two Legs Princes of the Universe The Prophet's Song I'm in Love With My Car Ride the Wild Wind '39 Was it All Worth It Now I'm Here, I Want It All, Radio Ga Ga and The Miracle are on the disc, but I already had 'em on my computer. Funny story regarding 39 and Was it All Worth It... when I played WIAWI on my computer, the last 30 seconds of 39 had been mixed into it for some reason. So I just opened up my audio-editor, got rid off the unwanted audio, saved WIAWI as a wav, converted it to an MP3, and everything's sunshine and lolipops. Then I play 39, only to realize that the last 30 seconds had been chopped off because I'd forgotten to add what I took off WIAWI to it. So I had to delete the edited WIAWI and restore the old one from my recycle bin, fix the mess (again!), and here I am. They both work fine now thankfully.

Right then, I've redone my list; and it took me nearly a day. 30 | A Kind Of Magic | 15 | Sheer Heart Attack | 29 | Fat Bottomed Girls | 14 | The March of the Black Queen | 28 | The Prophet's Song | 13 | The Hitman | 27 | Breakthru | 12 | Don't Stop Me Now | 26 | Now I'm Here | 11 | Headlong | 25 | Keep Yourself Alive | 10 | Death on Two Legs | 24 | Put Out the Fire | 9 | Tie Your Mother Down | 23 | Stone Cold Crazy | 8 | The Invisble Man | 22 | Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy | 7 | Innuendo | 21 | Ride the Wild Wind | 6 | Tear It Up | 20 | Don't Lose Your Head | 5 | Was It All Worth It | 19 | One Vision | 4 | Scandal | 18 | The Millionaire Waltz | 3 | Somebody to Love | 17 | Gimme the Prize | 2 | Hammer to Fall | 16 | It's Late | 1 | I Want it All |
There, THAT will be enough table-making for this lifetime...

I didn't know this band, but last year, I listend to Bohemian Rapsody, I liked this band. Now I like another Queen song called the song called Good Old Fashion Lover Boy.
I don't have interest in We will rock you. But this is a great band and I got a music CD with 20 of Queen's great songs.

Got Queen II a few dyas ago. It would have to be the most berko album of their career. A lot of the songs make little to no sense, but the segueing between them is brilliant - it's pretty hard to tell where one song ends and the next begins most of the time.
Father To Son is probably my favourite song not named Seven Seas Of Rhye on there, but overall, most of the songs left me rather 'meh'. I actually think Freddie's vocals were better on the debut album than this. All things considered, it's not one of my favourites...yet. Have to listen to it a few more times and get used to it.
As for my list, I managed to narrow it down to 40 or so and found it hard to get any further. It'd probably be easier if I listed those songs by album instead of trying to put the blighters in order and all...
Two songs I listened to in full a couple days ago really surprised me with how much I enjoyed them - Seaside Rendezvous and Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy. Good fun songs with strong instrumentals and catchy vocals...

I consider myself a fan of Queen. My favorite songs include Bohemian Rhaspody, Don't Stop Me Now, Another One Bites the Dust and Bicycle Race.

My favorite Queen song of all time is "Don't Stop Me Now." Honestly, Bohemian Rhaspody isn't one of my favorites, despite it probably being the most famous Queen song.

I'm a fan of the mighty Queen. I like Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, Radio Ga Ga and Crazy Little Thing Called Love.

I like Bohemian Rhapsody, Don't Stop Me Now and Under Pressure. That's it. No offence to anybody, but I've never liked We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions and Crazy Little Thing Called Love at all. I understand why there's so popular, but they're not really in the vein of music that I listen to.

Now is the time where I point out that today would have been Freddie Mercury's 60th birthday. It's been almost 15 years already...

Happy (belated...) birthday, Fred, wherever you are. You still bloody freaking rock.
So, I was sent a vast quantity of Queen demos and unofficially released songs. Brilliant stuff; I reckon Dog With a Bone would've been great on The Miracle.

Queen did quite a few weird songs.
Bohemian Rhapsody for instance...

There was an interview with Freddie in the Big Issue, how did they manage that? Like the IT Teacher in school who, trying to be 'with it' said he was going to a Nirvana concert next yr

I'm sure Freddie did more than a few interviews when he was alive. It could well have been a re-print of an old one in The Big Issue.

Actually, Freddie didn't do many interviews after about 1977 when NME ran an article headed "Is This Man A Prat?" You can't really blame him for that...
I do have an old article on him from the start of 1976 by Jonh Ingham out of Sounds Magazine. Pretty interesting look at the early years. Of course, that's not from the 1976 print, but a special Queen-focussed edition of Mojo I bought on a whim 18 months ago. Certainly haven't regretted that buy... ;D

*Ressurection!*
And with that marvelous segway, I gotta ask; is Brian's solo work any good? I've heard a few songs from Back To The Light (Ressurection, for example...), and I can get the album cheap off Amazon. Is it worth it?

Its a very heavy album if you mean Back to the Light, with some good work, I appreciate it but unfortunatley I don't feel it through the whole of my body like with most other stuff. Although it does have some good stuff, "Driven By You" is my favourite song on the album and I think his verion of "Too Much Love Will Kill You" is more easy listening vocally (musically its the same as Freddy on the lead). I'd say go for it, its different to the Queen albums, its more like a Led Zeppelin album, if you think that "Hammer to Fall" is heavy wait until you hear this!

Driven By You is the only solo Bri-guy stuff I've heard (similarly, I've heard none of Roger Taylor's solo or Cross albums) but it's pretty good quality. That actually surprises me somewhat. I know he wrote a lot of Queen's heavier stuff, but most of his self-sung songs were poprock ballads - Good Company, All Dead, All Dead, Sail Away Sweet Sister etc. But hey, if it's cheap, I reckon there's no reason not to get it, says I.

Ugh, Roger's stuff doesn't impress me much. I love his voice but from what I've heard of his solo albums isn't too great.
But I do like the concept of Brian doing some more heavy stuff. I'll order BTTL as soon as I can... along with NOTW, Hot Space... some Led Zep stuff... heh.

Queen are like the greatest band on earth, if Freddie Mercury was still alive now I'd say they'd sell a lot more top records even though he is gone he is not forgotten.
I like all Queen songs and have they ultimate three disc connection. Everyone have to admit that the greatest song of all time whether it's not you're fav or not is Bohemian Rhapsody IMO.

If Freddie was still alive, I swear I'd track him down just to ask him what he thinks about today's music. But Bo Rhap the best song ever? Not by a longshot in my book. The March Of The Black Queen from Queen II makes it seem like a nursery rhyme.... Speaking of which, and I don't know why I'm bothering to do this again, but: 30 | A Kind Of Magic | 15 | Father To Son | 29 | Fat Bottomed Girls | 14 | Put Out The Fire | 28 | Back Chat | 13 | Heaven For Everyone | 27 | Brighton Rock | 12 | Death On Two Legs | 26 | Let Me Live | 11 | Was It All Worth It? | 25 | Staying Power | 10 | Great King Rat | 24 | The Millionaire Waltz | 9 | The Show Must Go On | 23 | Don't Try So Hard | 8 | Hammer To Fall | 22 | A Winter's Tale | 7 | Sheer Heart Attack | 21 | It's A Hard Life | 6 | Scandal | 20 | The Invisible Man | 5 | The March Of The Black Queen | 19 | Tear It Up | 4 | Liar | 18 | Tie Your Mother Down | 3 | Somebody To Love | 17 | Save Me | 2 | Innuendo | 16 | The Hitman | 1 | I Want it All |
Included are a few old favorites that I never knew I loved so much (Save Me, TSMGO). Tear It Up has really dropped down and my #1 still refuses to change... ;D Anyway, for those wondering (all... one of you), apparently getting BTTL isn't gonna be easy. Amazon's "out of stock" despite having 22 copies available.
