I admit, I think I'm starting to become addicted to Queen. Not that that's a bad thing; on the contrary, actually. ;D I'm listening to "Don't Stop Me Now" as I type this, too. Good lord, Mercury's got a hell of a voice. Anyways, I realize a good portion of us are Queen fans, so...here's our thread! Discuss.

Perhaps you could have used a better thread title. I was wondering what on earth this would be about! Anyway, I'm a big fan of Queen and Freddie Mercury too. My favourite songs of theirs are: Bohemian Rhapsody - Of course! While I'll admit it's very good, it's not the best song ever, as many have said Radio Ga-Ga - I love that "pumping" beat it's got to it (that's the only way I can describe it). From some reason it reminds me steam engines. This is probably one of my most favourite Queen songs. Don't Stop Me Now - My mate's been playing it way too much recently, so I've gone off it a little, but it's still an excellent song. Another One Bites The Dust - It's almost too catchy Hammer to Fall - One of Queen's heavier songs, but I really like it. They did an amazing performance of it at Live Aid. These Are The Days of Our Lives - Makes me think of all the happy times I've had growing up Too Much Love Will Kill You - One of their lesser known songs. I like it because the lyrics often reflect how I'm feeling inside I could go on. These are just some of my favourites ;D

The Wierd Al Yankovic version of Bohemian Rhapsody is classic. I will admit, Don't Stop Me Now is a good song, and I only got introduced to it on Thursday.

I like Queen. It was the theme of my high school's marching band show last year. Every time our school won a football game, the band would break out in "We Are the Champions".

The Wierd Al Yankovic version of Bohemian Rhapsody is classic. You said it! Bohemian Polka, as well as Bohemian Rhapsody, are two awesome songs. I really prefer Bohemian Rhapsody. Just in case someone out there cared. I also like Mr. Roboto, Another One Bites The Dust, and (I'm suprised no one said this) We Will Rock You.

I'm knitting with only one needle...You can see Frddie's struggling with his illness during that film clip. Queen is quite easily my favourite band, bar none. So many of their songs are iconic and instantly rememberable. Bohemian Rhapsody...genius. If you wanted me to list my favourite songs you'd be waiting most of the day for me to finish. Instead I'll go by album: Queen - Don't have it, and as such the only song I've heard from it is Keep Yourself Alive, which is a nice catchy piece of work. Good guitar riffing, a drum solo...very good all round. Queen II - Again, I don't have it, but Seven Seas of Rhye is a top-notch hard rocker that's quite tongue-in-cheek at the same time...*does the little singalong at the end* Sheer Heart Attack - Spoilt for choice. Almost every song is pure gold. I have to nominate Now I'm Here though - fantastic hard rock and soft echoing...magnificent. A Night at the Opera - To be honest, I don't really like this album as much as some of their work. But I am a fan of Good Company. Nice riff, good story, and a jaunty little tune. Underrated song, I reckon. A Day at the Races - Man, this album is awesome. No bad songs at all. I'm plumping for White Man as it carries a powerful message, rocks hard, and has sentimental value for me as I sang it at a school camp and increased my popularity ten-fold...I look back at that and cringe... News of the World - It's Late. "YOU'RE STARING AT ME..." Another great rock song with a fantastic chorus and some wild guitar stuff from Brian. Jazz - Don't. Stop. Me. Now... Fast paced, thrilling and takes your breath away. The way a rock song should be. The Game - Hmm...don't have this (Nor News or Jazz), and of the 4 singles, none much take my fancy - although Another One Bites the Dust is clearly one of the best bass-focused songs ever. Hot Space - An immensely underrated album, IMO. I quite enjoy listening to the different directions taken in this one, and Dancer is a good mix of the funk and rock directions taken on this album. The Works - It's a toss up between Radio Ga Ga and Tear it Up, the former anthemic (*clap clap*) and the latter a strongly sung piece of rock. I'll go with the former. A Kind of Magic - One Vision is the highlight of an album full of highlights. So many great rockers ( Gimme the Prize, Princes of the Universe), beautiful ballads ( Friends Will be Friends, Who Wants to Live Forever...?), but they're put into the shade. How can you go past "Gimme Gimme Gimme FRIED CHICKEN!"? The Miracle - Oh boy. A beautiful album with no lowlights besides the odd Chinese Torture. I have to say that after listening to Was it All Worth It again recently, it is easily the best song on a great album. Innuendo - The Hitman is a return to the hard-rock roots of Queen, These Are the Days of Our Lives a soft, beautiful, moving piece, but Ride the Wild Wind is just very catchy and interesting, a final 'new' direction before the untimely death of Freddie. Made in Heaven - The title track is a nice little number, some more hard rock ( I Was Born to Love You) is never unappreciated, but I love My Life Has Been Saved. Sweet and Innocent, it's just a light touch to the final 'new' album. The great thing about Queen is their ability to 'wow' you. I mean, you can listen to a bunch of songs over and over again and love them, but when you put on a Queen song you haven't heard for some time it just blows you away - it's what happened to me when I listened to Was it All Worth It again recently. And writing this post has made me want to hear a bunch of other songs I haven't heard for ages... Queen are awesome. RIP.

Queen's a pretty good band...Bohemian Rhapsody's one of my personal favorites, along with some of their other (older) stuff. Performed Bohemian Rhapsody in marching band this year. Good arrangement. In that middle part we had to run back and forth in a straight line... Queen's good. I may have to invest in one of their discs. ATK

If you do, ATK, make sure you go for Queen Greatest Hits. It contains the singles up to and including The Game album, and these are easily their most recognisable and iconic songs. Well worth the investment.
Speaking of albums, I'm not sure which one I'd count as my favourite. Probably A Day at the Races, The Miracle or possibly Sheer Heart Attack. Fantastic, all of them.

Only one thing to say...............QUEEN ROCKS!!!!
There's nothing quite like these guys. Furthermore, it's good to see that after all these years they're being reveived. Okay, it's not quite the same as when Freddie Mercury was the lead singer. But with someone like Paul Rodgers at the lead, it's the next best thing. If they're touring the UK this year then I'll be going to see them before you could say 'tie your mother down'.

I'd never even heard of the guy until I heard he was "replacing" Freddie. As for favorite songs, hm, tough choice, if you ask me. I would probably end up choosing Somebody to Love, Hammer to Fall, or Don't Stop Me Now. I'll have to give it some thought...

He lacks a bit in stage performance, but then he's not pretending to be Freddie which is a good thing. He's just being himself.

Paul Rodgers used to be the lead singer of Free and Bad Company, in case anywone was wondering.
*sings 'All Right Now'*
If I'm completely honest, I preferred the live version of 'Somebody to Love' George Michael did at the tribute concert to the song proper. He put a lot of effort and passion into it - it was great.

Well, it's good to know that Rodgers can sing, although I must admit, I expected the opposite. Also, say hello to the Freddie Mercury Action Figure:

He did a wonderful job, although nothin' beats Freddie in my book. Pardon my double-posting ways.... but it has been a few days; figured no one would mind.

Queen? Love 'em Fav song has to be Don't Stop Me Now with the Bohiem Rhapsody closely behind, and boy do I mean close. Heh, one mad night, me and my friend sang Bohiem Rhapsody right through, not pleasing the other lads there who had to hear us sing
