I hear that there's a new show in Las Vegas right now, and it's also called LOVE.

Sir Paul McCartney is to get his hands back on the rights to The Beatles' back catalogue of songs - which he lost 21 years ago. The musician lost the rights to the majority of the Fab Four's hits to then close friend Michael Jackson in a bidding war in 1985. Jackson paid nearly £40 million for the collection leaving McCartney, who dueted with Jackson on worldwide hit 'The Girl Is Mine' in 1982, fuming. Now the former Beatle has learned the rights to many of the songs, which include 'Come Together' and 'Getting Better', are set to return to him automatically. He revealed to Britain's Daiily Express newspaper: "In about 10 years a lot of the back catalogue returns to me, just legally. Some of the important rights are about to return which I didn't realise." McCartney, 64, has previously admitted he hates the fact he has to pay Jackson money every time he plays one of his own songs on tour. He recently said: "You know what doesn't feel very good is going on tour and paying to sing all my songs. Every time I sing 'Hey Jude' I've got to pay someone." www.lse.co.uk/ShowbizNews.asp?Code=JD24765W&headline=paul_mccartney_to_buy_back_beatles_rights

I found a little tribute Flash animation on Youtube to Maxwell's Silver Hammer. But be warned, it's a bit on the violent side.

I also remember there being a documentary: The Beatles First U. S. Visit. Does anybody else have this? It's really one of the best Beatles DVDs I've ever seen.

I got that. It's not too bad, sound quality at some shows is bad, but I'm sure it's just the date of the concerts.
Who here owns The Beatles' Anthology 6 disc DVD set? It's worth all the money I spent on it!

I've got the Anthology and the First US Visit DVDs. They're both pretty good. I heard the new Love CD playing at HMV yesterday, and saw it in the stores too. When I've got enough money, I'm probably going to get it.
I'm glad McCartney is finally getting the rights back from ol' Wacko Jacko.
Also, old iron, I'm a big fan of the Rutles too! I have both their albums, plus the first movie on DVD. I'm keeping away from the sequel though, as apparently it's awful. The thing I like about them, after the laughter from the jokes wears off, is that the music is really good. In fact, I'm a fan of pretty much all of Neil Innes' stuff.
EDIT: My friend bought the Love album today, and I listened to it with him. Overall, it's slightly interesting, but I wouldn't recommend buying it. My friend was particularly disappointed, having been the one who actually paid for it, whereas I was merely "underwhelmed". In most of the songs, the differences are slight, except for the transitions between them and a few alterations which are genuinely pleasing. My favourite remixes are "Octopus's Garden", "Get Back" and "I Am the Walrus". Some of the remixing and mashing together really does not work at all, while other parts are very nice. I think you're better off sticking with the original versions, as alot of the new stuff just sounds out of place and awkwardly spliced in (which is odd, considering who did it).

It was exactly 5 years ago today that George Harrison died of cancer. Let us have a moment of silence to remember the "Quiet Beatle".

Indeed, George Harrison did some of the best Beatles songs, such as Here Comes the Sun and I'm Happy Just to Dance With You, among many others. May he rest in peace in Heaven, free of his illness and forever immortal, both down here on Earth and the Great Beyond...

George sang I'm Happy Just To Dance With you, but John and Paul wrote it. Anyway, I too feel awful for George dying. Such a young age, 58... I remember I heard the news on the radio on my way into school with my Dad. I didn't know how to react really, because if I cried, people would tease me. Tom Petty believes that George being stabbed in the neck repeatedly in 1999 was one of the main reason George didn't win the battle with cancer.

George sang I'm Happy Just To Dance With you, but John and Paul wrote it. Now, Jake, she didn't know John and Paul wrote I'm Happy Just to Dance With You. I feel your snipping at Elizabeth was uncalled for.

He wasn't snipping at her, he was just setting the record straight. I didn't notice any hostility at all.

It's all right, everyone ^^ Sorry for my mistake ^^
Anyway, I was flipping through one of my Beatles books, and stumbled across a photo of Ringo and his first wife, Marueen. She's so pretty, in my opinion XD My mom told me that whenever any of them found girls that they were intersted in, all the fangirls went nuts XD
