Where to begin...
I love all of the Beatles songs really. It's hard to choose a favourite. They have so many good songs.
My top 3 From each composer:
Lennon-McCartney (Shared Compositions): A Day in the Life I want to Hold Your Hand She Loves You
John Lennon (credited Lennon-McCartney): I Should Have Known Better I Feel Fine Don't Let Me Down
Paul McCartney: Paperback Writer Let It Be Get Back
George Harrison: Something Old Brown Shoe While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Ringo Starr (only wrote 2!) Octopus's Garden

I recently bought the albums A Hard Day's Night, With the Beatles, and Please Please Me while in New York. I must say they're all awesome. I've been using them to practice drumming like Ringo Starr.

So, has anybody here seen "The Rutles - All You Need Is Cash"?
It's a mocumentary about a fictional Beatles-like band, by Eric Idle and the fantastic Neil Innes. It's truly hilarious, with some of the casts of Monty Python, and the classic 70's version of Saturday Night Live. It includes a cameo by George Harrison, and the songs by Innes are brilliant pastiches of Beatles tunes. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes the Beatles, and if you know their history, it's even funnier!

I hadn't heard anything about it, but even if/when it does materialize, I doubt it'll be that great. I'll probably buy it anyway, but all the interesting Beatles unused songs, outtakes and such were on the Anthology-- they must really be scraping the bottom of the barrel by now.

I thought John and Paul were the ones who wrote "Yellow Submarine" and "With a Little Help From My Friends".

Really? It was just a bunch of tape loop sounds created by John Lennon. It used to aggravate me. Now I don't mind it anymore. In fact, I get a good laugh out of it!

For a history class project, I had to choose someone who had a major impact on the world, so I chose Ringo Starr, and so I have to dress up like him. It'll be pretty cool. I might even bring in an ERTL Thomas model.

To practice sounding like Ringo, I'll have to watch "Thomas: The Early Years" a few times.

Heh...good luck with that Aidan. I don't mind the Beatles, but I don't think they're God's gift to music like so many critics do. My favourite songs would have to be 'Yellow Submarine', 'Hey Jude' and 'Get Back'. They did have multiple sounds - often on the same album - and they're one of the biggest influences on modern (post WW2) music ever, but they just don't do everything for me. I like them, but there are plenty others I like.
