This thread is for all the Beatlemaniacs of SiF. Feel free to discuss the work of this influential band whose drummer was a certain Thomas narrator.

I like a lot of songs from the Beatles. I first started liking the Beatles when my parents would play their CDs. I think they're a great band overall.

Ooh, the Beatles! In my opinion, they are the greatest band in the world (although that doesn't necessarily mean they're my current fave). Just about ALL their songs are great, and they were SO important and influential... Wow. I really got into them about 2 or 3 years ago, and so now that I've already heard all their songs and bought all the albums I've kind of moved on, but they are definitely incredible. Their music is fresh and timeless, and it remains catchy yet sophisticated (well, except for some of the early stuff-- that was just catchy ).

I started getting into the Beatles when I was 16, when I attended BeatleFest at band camp. I've become a huge fan. They're also the reason why I asked my parents for a drum set for Christmas.

The Beatles were, and allways will be iconic. Their influence was why I asked for an electric guitar for my 18th. I can't play many of their songs, but I can play some stuff by a band that George Harrison formed in the late 80s called the Travelling Wilburys. They were tipped to become the next best thing, but sadly this was shortlived as one of the other members died shortly after the release of their first album.
Still, long live the legacy of The Beatles.

I first knew about the Beatles at the age of around ten. I knew Ringo Starr had narrated Series 1 and 2 of Thomas, but I never knew he was a Beatle, or that his real name was Richard Starkey, up until when I was listening to a CD I have containing "With a Little Help From My Friends" and I thought the man (Ringo) sounded familiar, so I asked my parents and they confirmed he was Ringo Starr.

Similar thing happened to me when I first heard "Octopus's Garden". I recognized Ringo's voice because I had known him from both Thomas and "Shining Time Station" (he was probably the best Mr. Conductor). Speaking of which, I remember having to sing that song in fourth grade for a unit we were doing on sea life.

Ahh yes, The BEATLES! My third favourite band (the Rolling Stones at No.1 and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers at No. 2). I grew up listening to them.
I have many CDs and vinyl records from them. I also have the Anthology DVD box-set as well as feature films A Hard Day's Night, HELP!, Yellow Submarine and Let It Be (won off of eBay). Hearing Ringo on Thomas made me enjoy the band he was once in.
I can't really choose a favourite song or member. My favourite album is Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band.

My favorite album would probably have to be The White Album.

The only Beatles movie I've got is "A Hard Day's Night", but I've also got the Sgt. Pepper movie made by the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton.

I love The Beatles. I had no idea that Ringo was their drummer. But when I found out, I immeadiately started to listen to their music to try and hear him. I was satisfied when I got to Abbey Road's Octopus' Garden. Love their musice. I really like their Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da song.

The Beatles are definitely among my favorites when it comes to music. Nearly every one of their albums is full of solid, memorable songs: it's really very impressive. I probably first got really interested in music when I started listening to them, too- that all having started about a year and a half ago (not counting songs like Yesterday- that gets played on the radio fairly often!) when my friend and I decided to download trippy songs like 'I am the Walrus'. So many great songs of theirs that it's hard to single out one as my favorite. Probably something from Revolver, though, that's one of the best albums ever recorded, I'm sure...

I've got all their CD's, plus some on vinyl, a bunch of vintage posters, books about them, plus the Yellow Submarine and HELP! on vhs, and on DVD I have the Anthology boxset, A Hard Day's Night and "The First US Visit" documentary. Incredible band, as I said above. My parents told me that Ringo was involved in the Beatles when we'd watch Thomas, but I didn't really care until they started playing the White Album, Yellow Submarine and the Beatles 1 compilation around the house. Like many other people, I was inclined to start playing the guitar because of the Beatles. (Although now I like playing the piano the best)

Rare Beatles - album tracks (check "Revolver") and B-sides. Because you heard the number 1s so often.
"Rain", for instance. (on the B-side of "Day Tripper")
Ringo's best was "Yellow Submarine". John Lennon said, "he's not even the best drummer in the Beatles" which I thought was a bit harsh.
My uncle was a paid up Beatlemaniac in 1964. My sis has a nice big photo he got signed by each of them. Now framed and fully insured!
I can remember when Lennon was shot and people went into school wearing black armbands. When George passed away it was "dang! there are only two Beatles left!"
I was happy to read that Wilbert and Ringo got on well and shared a ciggy.

"Rain", for instance. (on the B-side of "Day Tripper"e;) Actually, Rain was the B-side of Paperback Writer. Day Tripper itself was a B-Side to We Can Work it Out.
