Recently been entertaining the idea of giving Facebook another try. I opened an account a few years ago, but quickly closed it again, after feeling extremly underwhelmed. I'm still not sure what all the hype is about, to be frank. One thing I'm curious about - is there a way to keep different groups of friends from seeing each other? Say SiF friends and my school friends (all 3 of them ), for example. I'm sure others will understand my concerns about keeping offline and online life - particularly the Thomas fandom - separate.

Yep. You can ceate friends lists and anytime you post something, you can choose whether it will show up in one list or not. Some groups are set to private though. Much like the SiF group.

Re: Lists
Having recently discovered 'Friends Lists' I've now added an SiF list. This now also means I'd be easily able to post something on my wall SiF related, and only people from my SiF Friends list would see. I'd highly recommend it to any iSLaNDers on facebook. Feel free to post something, assured only SiF facebooks will be able to see it. Quite a handy feature.

I have temporarily closed my facebook account, as I'm finally feeling the effects of PTSD from the whole brain surgery and other things. I'll be back, I'm just not sure when at this point.

Semi-reviving this thread for an annoying enquiry: Is anyone else having difficulty trying to see or make updates on FB at the moment? From changing my profile to making sure the most recent Wall Posts are visible. I've tried everything to refresh / erase this bug, but no such luck Just so I'm not the only one

How come your link goes to MY Facebook?? We've already explained this once to you via PM when you "reported" Zach's post back in December. It's going to your FB page because... a) it's a link to a generic profile b) because of that, it'll go to your own FB page if you're signed in. c) and if you;ve logged out of FB, the link will only take you to the FB login screen Rather than bring it up here, it would've been more appropriate for you to PM Zach to tell him about the incomplete link, and that the proper way to include a personal FB link is to include the person's FB Profile ID in the url (which you can see when you click your FB profile)
