Just checked, and there seems to be no problem with your account, CPK. Rest assured it still exists.

It would appear facebook has changed their layout again [for the worse in my opinion].
It's much more confusing, and in my opinion, more difficult to find things, get to things and be informed about other people's actions. And where the devil is my Live Feed? I use that thing constantly. I have the old one open from before the change occured, for me, a few minutes ago [and it's still running], but, looking on a more recent window, the new facebook doesn't seem to have it.
I honestly preferred the older version, but I presume, no matter how much people may rant, it won't be changed.
What do the rest of you think of it?
Nicholas.

It's pretty crap, innit? The two biggest issues I have with Facebook changing its layouts are a) not giving any notice to the users before doing so, and b) not having the option of which layout to use. B moreso than A. But yes, this new one is a right pain in the backside I reckon - you can't really see any requests you have unless you specifically look for them, nothing is labeled (eg Clay Halford wrote on 'x's Wall is now Clay Halford -> 'x' ...) and so on. It's a mess, but I suppose we'll end up getting used to it... right when they decide to change it again. It's always the way, isn't it? Side note - what was the live feed? Don't think I ever saw/used that... Side side note - about half of my friends' most recent status updates over the last couple days have been along the lines of "Wow, this new layout sucks". So we're not alone (in the universe).

Live feed was a more advanced form of News Feed. It showed anything that people may have just done; ie. commented on a photo or status, any of your friends making any new friends whoever they may be, joined or new group or had even played with their Pet on Pet Society! Thing was it was constantly being updated without having to refresh the window; coming in 'live' as it had been done, pushing earlier notifications further down the list. What's more annoying is that the News Feed only seems to display new albums statuses [most of which, likewise, are concerning people's reactions to the change... although some referencing today's Red Nose Day events]. There are 'highlights' at the side which seem to be random, although moderately recent. Even on my own wall, I can't find out what times certain things have been done; it simply breaks it down as 'recent activity', therefore providing less of the useful information and on top of that, in a more confusing layout. And please don't think this is just because it changed. I remember not really minding last time it changed because my account was still reasonably simple to navigate, read and find out the information I wanted, but this change is pretty abismal. It takes longer [and multiple efforts, currently] to reach what I'm looking for, if such detailed information is still provided in the first place. Let's hope this is facebook's idea of doing something funny for Red Nose Day Concerning the choice of whether or not to change the profile, it would be nice if this 'upgrade' was optional or could be tested out before being made manditory and enforced upon comfuddled users. If a way is found of changing the layout back to the original, I'll be sure to post it here, but I doubt there is. Nicholas.

Turns out that Facebook is actually bad for you, according to an Archbishop: LinkEven Myspace was included, wouldn't surprise (even it wasn't mentioned) whether YouTube and Dailymotion are the same). But having read through the report, some people can get really addicted to these things and it sends them paranoid. But it's a form of communication that has become a big thing, plus people can't help looking on the social networking sites for friends. For all the Archibishop could know, some people can live in rough neighbourhoods and turn to the internet to socialize with people. Plus, look what's going on the streets these days: knife crime, gangwarfare, terrorist threats; alot of these things have got some people worried and they become anxious about going out and socializing with people. Plus, how do you know the person you meet is trustworthy (Yes I know, the same goes with the internet). But as my Grandad once said (so my Mother has told me) if you worry over a certain thing, you'd never get out of bed and hence why more people die in bed because they're worried about all these different things that's holding them down from going out and socializing. Even though I use the net alot, I would never committ suicide over someone bullying me on a networking site because suicide doesn't overcome your problems it just shows that some people are: paranoid or addicted to whatever they're doing (or in some other cases, off their heads on drugs). Although some maybe against these sites, there are some who benefit well from networking sites than others (Look at everyone who has been to SiF meetings, it's benefited well for the forum). Plus, not all of us socialize well face to face like as others do. Some of us socialize well through a computer than face to face because we're quiet and nervous about what we say that might upset or anger somebody. EDIT:Plus I got to give both FaceBook and Myspace alot of credit, I've found alot of old friends I use to go to school with from almost 10 years old and 5 years ago.

Couldn't have said it better myself, Scrap Iron. I just started using Facebook this past May, and I'm fully aware of the dangers some social online sites pose. As a result, I am fairly cautious of how I use Facebook, and I tend to use it on a semi-regular basis, especially after I found some people I haven't met since High School!

I dunno, I mean I understand there are great risks with some social network sites if you are a teenager but then again as long as the risks are taught and people are told that the less you put on them the more safer you are there's nothing wrong with it I thinks . BTW, MAJOR reccommendation from me. Change your language to English (Pirate). Honestly, you'll never laugh so much in your life

Hey, I've been trying to join the SiF group for awhile now...I'm James McHenry... Are you sure there's an 'SiF Facebook Group'? I was just on FB, and it doesn't seem to exsist.

If you search for it, it won't come up. You sort of have to find someone else who has it. I don't personally, as I try to keep some social circles from discovering SiF [doesn't always go to plan], so putting it on my 'groups' list wouldn't help.

I know that there's a fair few groups on facebook, such as Thomas appreciation groups, but the official [well, as official as you can get] Sodor Island Forums one won't come up if you simply type it into the search bar. I believe you have to request membership.I think the image, last time I came across it was a shot of all the engines at Tidmouth Sheds from Thomas and the Special Letter. Not sure who administrates the group, though. Most likely Ryan, but I don't know much more about it.
It's not unlikely another couple of SiF member groups have cropped up here and there, though.

The funny thing it that this had "membership by approval," too. I don't think I was searching for "Sodor Island Forums," either...
I dunno.
