Anyone else MySpace? I've very recently started getting to using my account for it (have an MSN Space, and it's good!) but I'm going to start writing the MySpace Blog a bit more often. Feel free to add me if you are, I'm - www.myspace.com/rh281285

It's not MySpace, but it is a place where I blog. I only started it recently (today, in fact), so there's not a whole lot there right now, but you never know. It might get bigger in the future. alaric-freetime.blogspot.com/

Myspace is evil.
Just yesterday, my best friend's mother accidently read his myspace. It said that he was gay, which he is. She called him up and freaked out that its disgusting, imoral, and stuff. He had to tell her it was a joke, nothing but a prank on his friends. I hope his father, and the rest of this family don't find out about this. They're dead serious when it comes to this stuff and thinks gays should die or something. He changed all the infomation on it right after that.
I don't use my myspace anymore because weird random guys ask to be my friend, even though I had no picture up. I think myspace is a breeding area for internet stalkers and preditors of young girls..

But surely you can't blame Myspace for what happened to your friend. He put that information up. In any case, the bad guys here are surely the homophobic parents.
My friend Ruairi summed Myspace up better than I could. He said that to call it "good" or "bad" is pointless, because it's a means of communication. Yes, it can be abused, but so can the telephone or emails or any other means of communication.

His mother wasn't meant to see it, but his little sister backstabbed him and showed the mother the gay part, which is messed up. So far he seems out of the trouble since he lied and said it was a joke, which is relieving to hear. I feel bad that his parents are so racist like that. If I was a parent, I'll be alright if my kids were gay, even happier than straight since I don't have to worry about them getting pregnant.
I used facebook and aol instant message as a means of communication since they are more restricting. Facebook is like myspace, but its only restricted to students and alumni which I really like. I don't really have to worry about sexual preditors on facebook. Instant message is only my friends. Myspace is too broad. Anyone can read your information, whether they're a kid, a preditor, a murderer....
