Maybe something may backfire. Since Voldemort has Harry's blood, maybe he could be a bit more vulnerable.

Wow, forgot about Neville XD That would be an interesting twist indeed!
My mom and I had a debate about the Harry being killed thing, said that it would be bad for Rowling to do that. Said it would be bad publicity and politically incorrect. It's a long debate that I don't feel like explaining XD

JK Rowling has announced that "Harry Potter and the deathly hallows" will be released on July 21. Awesome - my Barnes & Noble has already got it up for pre-order, I think they've had it available since the beginning of the year XD A release date is a good thing, not I can begin saving what little money I make for getting it...after a certain Thomas DVD comes out ^_~ ~Elizabeth

That's bad news for me. I'll be on vacation that week. No worries, I'll just have to wait a little longer I suppose....

OK, I've made my way through all six books now... The last three only in this year, but the first three (and a bit) were gone through last year... I'll type the rest in spoiler mode so that I don't spoil anything by my ranting... I'm still in a bit of a state of shock that Dumbledore died! Of all the characters, he's the last one I expected...
I've read a fair bit since finishing the series-to-date... And from what I've seen, Harry, Ron and Hermione are safe.
I've also read that Rowling sees Half-Blood Prince as the first "half" of a two-part story, that Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows are (in her mind) essentially the one story, spanning two years.
Looks like the DADA position at Hogwarts will continue its trend of one teacher per year (if it even opens)... since I'm sure Snape wouldn't exactly be invited back... And I really wasn't expecting Snape to be the Half-Blood Prince, I really thought it was Voldemort, and was wondering why Hermione especially was so blind to that idea...
Assassin, I couldn't find that quote on pg.112 of Phoenix, was it from another page? It sure does sound familiar, and intriguing, though...

The last book and the fifth movie released at the same time? Hot Dog! Mmm....hot dog.
I've headed to Dymocks (my local book shop) and pre-ordered a copy.
BTW, I've heard that two characters are going to be killed off. Sadly, I think it's going to be Ron and Hermonie. I think Harry will be battling Lord Voldemort by himself.

MINOR SPOILERS
I think there'll be more than 2 deaths. I think Snape might die. I'm beginning to think Harry won't die. All the rumour could be a Stunt. It's definetly a popular character that dies. I'm guessing Hagrid will die.

Here's a funny idea someone at school came up with. Do you think it's possible that Snape is really being Dumbledore's spy? According to another friend at school, it isn't such a bad thing Dumbledore's dead becaus he's in the painting, and has all the "know-how".

To be honest, I really don't know who's gonna die and who's not. The best we can do at the moment is just speculate about the plot of the last book and wait until July 21, during which time I'll be turning 21!
One good thing to pass the time though is to go back and re-read the series just to be up-to-date when the last book is released.

I reckon the title refers to the Horcruxes - probably what the Death Eaters refer to them as. "Hallows" are the relics of saints, so a "deathly hallow" would be the relic of someone associated with death. Which would fit the Horcruxes exactly.

The new covers have been released. The adult version has a locket on the cover with a S (maybe the one they found last year), the british kids one has the trio surrounded by gold and the american has Harry reaching tot he sky surrounded by shadows.
Also, remember in OotP how they found a locket in Sirius' house that they couldn't open and there's the speculation that Sirius' brother is R.A.B, maybe the real locket's is in Grimmuald Place!

Notice the one with the kids has a hand behind Harry. It looks like it belongs to a House elf. it could be Dobby or it could even be Kreacher. After all JK has said he does play a big part. He nearly got cut from the Odrer of the Pheonix movie. JK had told the producers to add him.

Slightly off-topic, I know, but I wouldn't mind betting, in this new book, that there will be a chapter called: 'NEWTs'. These are the exams sat in the final year at Hogwarts, and as there was a chapter for the OWLs, there's a good chance the same thing will happen in 'The Deathly Hollows'. In any case, the series is getting darker and darker.
