Five words: I'm a Harry Potter fanatic! Awesome books, but getting a bit mysterious. Discuss 'em here.

I'm a major HP fan. I've got all the books plus the UK editions of "The Chamber of Secrets" and "The Half-Blood Prince" (those were from friends). I've also got a Bachmann Hogwarts Express.

I'm about three-fourths finished with the sixth book. VERY Good. I won't tell any details, might 'spoil' it for Toby7.

I read Book 6 within two days of it arriving (on it's publication date)... haven't seen it since... I think it's wandered off.

Normally I read the book twice when I first get it. First time, I look at the plot and such. Second time, since I know the plot I can see certain details that I missed the first time. The more you read the book, the more you will understand it.

"Prisoner of Azkaban" is my favorite Harry Potter book. It was interesting to learn more about the past of Harry's parents and the night Voldemort attacked.

I think I like Half-Blood Prince the best...it was really fascinating reading about 'He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named' and his past. His past, though rich in detail, was also a bit disturbing. I thought Merope was an interesting character, though she didn't appear too much...poor girl! Well, Snape finally got the job he wanted so badly. I thought he'd never get it, but they say it's jinxed... ~Elizabeth

I read Book 6 within two days of it arriving (on it's publication date)... haven't seen it since... I think it's wandered off. Lo and behold - it's turned up. Mum thought I was looking for Goblet of Fire, for some reason, and it turns out it was still in my Mum & Dad's room from when my Mum was reading it. Yes, that was July. BTW, call me sad, but I remember the exact date it came out! July the 16th, 2005. It was the day the Brief Encounter Special, hauled by 48151 the 8F came to Sellafield. It's coming back next month!

Harry Potter rules. My favourite book is Prizoner of Azkaban, and then second favourite is either Philosophers stone or Goblet of Fire. Half Blood Prince was great too, but a bit depressing

I've been a fan of 'Harry Potter' ever since I saw the film adaptation of 'The Philosopher's Stone' in 2001. I even recognised 'Olton Hall' having heard about it in 'Steam Railway. Now, in the words of Skarloey from 'Little Old Twins', "I'll surprise you all!" I have a friend down my local pub named Joe, and he is an ex engine fireman (and later driver). He says he drove 'Olton Hall' for a while down in Wales. Interestingly, I saw a photo of the same engine in the late 1950's at Carmarthen Station.

I saw Olton Hall in Carlisle last July with the "China Bear Rescue", double-headed with 48151. I hope it comes up the Cumbrian coast line to Sellafield, like 48151, the 8F has. That's coming back next month, I bet Sellafield will be deserted like it was last year... perfect! The 3rd busiest station on the Whitehaven-Lancaster section of line, and there was only me and my Dad there. The rest of the spotters were all at Ravenglass a few miles to the south... silly things!

Speaking of Olton Hall, does anyone know why it had a different-sounding whistle in "Prisoner of Azkaban" and "Goblet of Fire" than the one it had in "Philosopher's Stone" and "Chamber of Secrets"?

My favourite book is 'The Prisoner of Azkaban', it has both light-heartedness, drama and humour rolled nicely into one. A brilliant way to write a book. My other favourites are 'Half-Blood Prince', 'Philosopher's Stone' and 'Chamber of Secrets'. I used to find 'Goblet of Fire' boring, until I saw the film. I think I enjoy it better now that I've seen the film. 'Order of the Phoenix' really kicked it in the teeth, that (sorry guys) was a little too slow for my liking. There seemed to be too many bits in just to pad the storyline out, much like HIT's Thomas stories from Season 8, hence the storyline became complicated. It had its good moments, though. I loved the bit where Harry and Co., took the mickey out of Professor Umbridge (or should I call her by her nickname I made up for her, Scumbridge?), after Harry spoke about Voldemort's return in that 'Daily Prophet' I think it was. But I suppose, even that was better than 'Thomas and the Magic Railroad.' I'll say when Umbridge (quite unreasonably) banned Harry, George and Fred from the Quidditch pitch, I really thought this was the end for them. The flashback with James Potter and Snape reminded me of the 'Duck and Diesel' trilogy for some reason, but then, I remember someone saying that J.K Rowling was a Railway Series fan herself. Like Duck (unintentionally) did to Diesel, James humiliates Snape, albeit deliberately. Whilst I feel that James shouldn't have provoked Snape, and that Snape didn't deserve to be humiliated, I feel that he shouldn't have turned evil as he did afterwards (like Diesel did). Snape did plenty of nasty things to Harry and others without being provoked.
But I cheered up when 'Half-Blood Prince' came along. That is one of the best since the early books, I'll say. It didn't drag as much as 'Order of the Phoenix', and featured Simpleton Snape (as I call him) at his very best. He appeared just nasty and moody in the in earlier books, but his darker, even more vicious side emerges in this book.

I read everything up to the Goblet Of Fire. I read quarter of the way through Order Of The Pheonix and now I'm reading The Half Blood Prince.
