Anyone happen to catch the " Cars-Toons" Pixar have been making? So far, they've been at least four made, with one shown as a theatrical short before " Bolt". They're snappily done but still quick with the humour. The mini series, Mater's Tall Tales, involves a somewhat formulaic plot - Mater begins telling McQueen about various jobs he did before becoming a tow truck (from a fire truck to a bulldozer fighter....thaaaat's right ), and right in the middle of his imaginary sequence, McQueen is suddenly brought into the story at the worst possible time. Disney/Pixar is one studio who definitely wanna keep the old-school cartoon humour alive, 3D or not

So, a new movie coming out next year eh? I have no idea what they could do next.
You know, I feel the merchandise die-cast line is starting to get a bit long in the tooth now. I mean, now they're releasing models for every single pit crew forklift and semi, who are really all just the one and the same model with a different spray of paint!
Collecting is fun, but I think the toymakers should wait until the next film before churning out more vehicles.

I really want to see them, they sound hilarious! Bulldozer fighter... I always loved Cars... amazing animation, great plot and everything, plus it starred anthropomorphic machines which always ups the awesomeness factor in my books.

If memory serves, the Disney Channel (shocked!? I know I am ) began running these for a good while, although I reckon you'll be lucky enough to find them on YT or somewhere. To quote Mater in his mini-series, "If I'm lyin', I'm cryin'"

After seeing that "Mater & The Ghost Light", I always felt Pixar should start a series of sorts. Looks like they kind of now have. A short now and then is probably the best way to go, rather than a fullblown series. That will ensure it doesn't somewhat make the brand become stagnant and repetitive. I want to see these. *Looks on YouTube*

Yay! Thanks Jim!
The "El Materdor" one was the funniest, in my opinion(Not sure what the abbreviation(Interesting how that word is so long when it means "to shorten")))

Plus, Mater's paint job was pretty awesome. Though the "Mater the Greater" one has the best quote, I think... "You didn't make it... well, see ya later!" ;D

For anybody who has either forgotten or missed it, the trailer for Cars 2 is available to watch. Cannot wait to see the return of Cars, however Paul Newman is gone, Joe Ranft is gone and George Carlin (Thomas! ) is also gone. I have no idea if their characters will either come back and be replace by other voice actors, or write them out all together. R.I.P all three actors. However with people like the legend that is Sir Michael Caine, this is sure to be a hit, with a bit of espionage also in the film!

I love Cars when it first came out in 2006, that was five years ago! And now I can't wait to see the second movie, sadly no Paul Newman, Joe Ranft and most of all George Carlin I don't about them (the characters), but we just have to wait and see. TMRReturns

Fillmore is coming back. I'm not sure who is voicing him, but he has a picture for the next movie. Doc Hudson... I think they are going to have a story that he died or something, he was a very special character. Red and Peterbilt (He's likely not coming back he only had a cameo)'s actor Joe Ranft died in a car accident before the movie came out, so I'm supposing Red may or may not come back.

The thing with Pixar is, they are brilliant at casting suitable voices. Take Slinky Dog, in Toy Story, for example. Jim Varney had passed away, leaving his character without a voice, but Pixar were able to source an almost-alike actor for him, Blake Clarke.
As much as I'm a fan of Pixar films, I do hope they aren't jumping the shark with the storyline. Not sure if this will be a success to be honest, just seems odd plot-wise.
