Splendid work, Chris. I'd been wondering for years, too, what Ken Barrie looked like. He must be getting on now, though.

Nice find, Chris. Great to see what Ken Barrie finally looks like. He's certianly doing grand with more than just Postman Pat, that's for sure

Has anyone noticed how Pat's house in the new series looks like Granny Dryden's house in the old series?
Maybe she really was his grandmother (he calls her Granny Dryden, and I remember her letting him order a watch from her catalogue in one episode). Maybe she then died between series two and three (explaining her absence in the new series) and left Pat the house?

Possibly, but I seem to remember Pat calling her Mrs. Dryden on odd occasion. Not the usual way to address your grandma unless he was being very professional about his job!
And yes, I can see similarities in the houses, but if you watch older episodes you'll notice it's on a bit of a hill. Pat's appears to be in a fairly flat level area. Plus I'm sure I read somewhere that it was actually the Bainses who moved into Granny Dryden's old cottage.

I've yet to see the new series - perhaps I'll have a look at it at some point.
Anyway, here's some of my favourite songs from the series (the old one, anyway).
Miss Rebecca Hubbard The Farmer's Song Jess is His Cat
and finally, Pat's theme tune itself.

Years ago, on TV.com people were speculating what happened to the absent characters. Sam Waldren was speculated to be in jail for selling dodgy goods.

Assuming it's being handled by the same team who worked on the last few series and the animation isn't being drastically changed, I think this'll be quite exciting. Sounds like they've taken a bit of inspiration from Bob The Builder: Project Build It. Though whether this going to be ongoing story arc like that, we'll have to see. As for who'll go with Pat - his entire family could be moving to this "big town" or perhaps he'll just travel there for work during the day. One things for sure, Jess'll still be invovled as he's so popular. I'm guessing the big town will be either Pencaster or Ingledale. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=dOd8SjGZie0Now that brought back some real memories. I'm slightly ashamed to admit I've a sudden urge to go and buy one of those cheap Pat's ABC/123 DVDs I've seen in Woolies Makes you wonder... would the proper Postman Pat series have been as popular if it was animated in this 2D format?

Him moving to the big town will probably only last for that series, and then he'll hopefully move back again.

I've seen one of the more recent Postman Pat episodes 'The Jumble Sale', and it wasn't too bad. I'm glad the show still has its old theme tune, and the new composers are quite good. Not quite as good as Bryan Daly, but they could give him a decent run for his money. Even if it isn't a patch on the old series, it could be worse - at least it hasn't been Americanised.

I had the video of this when I was younger. Quite good, not as much as the original 3D series, but still ok.

I've been wanting to ask - does anyone know the address of Cosgrove Hall/Entertainment Rights or whoever is in charge of Postman Pat now? Because I'm thinking of some recommendations to improve the series, much like we have with Thomas.

I was flipping through the channels today, and I discovered that "Postman Pat" was showing on one of them. The episode involved Pat having to help a band audition a singer. There were no alterations in voices.

I used to love this when I was younger and seeing the episodes on YouTube uploaded by Chris has brought back many childhood memories! Thanks Chris!
BTW, I've just watched 'Pat's Foggy Day' and I found out something people may or may not know about. The organ music at the church sounds remarkably like the 'Looking at Life Through a Farmer's Eyes' song from 'Sheep in a Clover Field'! Did anyone notice this before?
And just to prove it, here's a tribute to the Rev. Timms on YouTube:

Came across some of the new vehicles that will feature in Postman Pat: Special Delivery Service at the top of this page... www.3dghetto.com/tobian/portfolio/These might actually be CGI interpretations, but going on past press releases, I'm quite confident the new series will stick with model animation.

That's a good find Chris although I've got the feeling Postman pat might move to CGI eventually (making this show go exactly the same way as Thomas) since every show seems to these days. So does this mean Ted Glenn will be going with Pat to the big city?

The new series will be showing weekdays at 8.30am on BBC2, starting September 29th. Rather timely considering the new episodes of Thomas finish on the Friday prior to this. Details on five episodes have been unveiled so far... uk-tv-guide.com/show-times/10382/Postman+Pat/Animation/From what I can gather, it looks as if my prediction of the "big city" being Pencaster will be proven correct. Storylines so far seem to centre around Pat transporting a delivery from the mail depot there back to someone in Greendale. Most of the old faces haven't been ditched either, with Alf Thompson, Ted Glenn and PC Selby slated to put in appearances so far.
