Ok, who enjoys watching our fav alien flying round time and space in a police box? ;)I am and i cannot wait for the Xmas Special! Why? Well... 1) Tennant is looking a superb Doctor in the making. 2) THAT scene on Children in Need doesn't help calm me down. 3) Its filmed in Wales! My friend has actually seen some filming of the series, and he can confirm......the back of the TARDIS is grey

I've been a Doctor Who fan since I was much younger, when my friend introduced me to it. Raised on Tom Baker and Peter Davidson, I'm currently trying to get into the older stuff (Can't wait for the William Hartnell boxset!), in particular Patrick Troughton. UK Gold are up to Sylvester McCoy with their Omnibus showings, so it shouldn't be too long until they show some classic Who! Yay! Anyhoo, even though I've found the latest series to be a mixture of ups and downs, I'm looking forward to the Christmas special. Tennant looks like he'll be fun as The Doctor, and Billie Piper might leave! Hey, it's possible. Oh yeah, and I'm looking forward to this Doctor Who audio you have planned Jim. Just thought I'd throw a little plug in for that.

Well get my black jacket and bow tie and call me the Doctor. A video generation fan (since 1996 - first Dr Who was a tape of the Five Doctors), I'm an avid fan. I loved the new series. I'm especially looking forward to the new one, WITH the ever lovely Sarah Jane Smith returning for an episode!
Oh and Dr Who Audio eh? I've made a few myself... if you want I'd LOVE to participate!

Yes they do. I always felt that the best Cybermen were in the Tombs of era. The 80s Cybermen seemed like a pointy stick could kill them, whereas the metallic Cybermen of that day needed a stronger thing to kill them. Although it's a mix between the Tenth Planet and Revenge of the Cybermen of which has the most hilarious Cybermen - socks or ... well... crap?

Let's just hope the Cybermen are still as evil as ever. And I mean evil evil, not misunderstood evil.
Cyberman: Oh, we have lost our humanity, and this has made us very sad. Therefore, in retaliation to our hurt feelings, we shall mechanize every person in the universe! But only because we are very upset!
I know characters need depth and everything, but monsters are less scary when you realise they're only being evil because they were unloved as a kid.

I'll make my opinion about the new Cybermen when we finally see them in action. For now, I'd say they seem to be showing bits of metallic muscle, and they look a lot more like the Borg from Star Trek than they did before (the Cybermen were precursors to the Borg BTW). I wonder what they'd look like with bits of flesh though.
Has anyone seen that promo with the Christmas tree on the BBC website, seems pretty scary.

I'd wait to wait and see before I make such a judgement. Christopher Eccleston did such a brilliant job with the role... Tennant will have tough shows to fill.

I'm thoroughly looking forward to it. The last series was the highlight of the TV year, and the next series can't come fast enough for me. I'll admit that it's a shame Christopher Eccleston doesn't want to do any more, but David Tennant is an extremely talented and versatile actor. Plus Christopher Eccleston wasn't the series' only strength- the writing was absolutely top-notch as well. They seem to have chosen writers who not only have a reputation for quality, but who are also fans of the original. As a result, we've had a series that is true to its origins, but not afraid to be original.

Yesterday there was a rollover with David Tennant and some "Santa Clauses" in the background. If you rolled the mouse over, the Santas would fire guns that spouted fire. I had a nightmare about that last night. Just so that you know, I think those Santas were the Sycorax, the Doctor's new enemy in the Christmas Invasion.
I'm not sure if the rollover's still there. The last time I checked (and all the other times), it was replaced by Billie Piper (i.e. Rose)

Possibly. I think I'd still be happy if they just turned out to be evil Santas.

Ye, those Santa things are still there, on the one advert though, there was a normal tree, then 3 parts of it spung round.

Doctor Who is my all-time favourite show.
I like the way the new series is near-enough sticking to the old series.
Christopher Eccleston was a great doctor, but it would have been better to see him in a second series.
Lets hope David Tennant stays a around a bit longer
