For some reason I think David Tenant will stay for at least 2 series'.
By the way, in the last series, they said that the Doctor was the last remaining time lord. Is Romana still in E-Space?

Depends.
According to her life after the TV series, Romana was seen to be the President of Gallifrey in both the novels and the latest string of Audio Dramas.

According to the 2006 Annual (which in some places a good read ) it mention's that the Time Lords had a SECOND time war with the Daleks, which lead to the destruction of Gallifrey. So possibly, yes she was.

*Possible Spoiler* It looks like this doctor is going to be quite erratic- apparently something went wrong during his regeneration, and as a result he suffers from occasional lapses of consciousness and a rather odd personality.

Sounds a bit like Colin Baker...
Although I remember reading that David Tenant gets to dress up as a woman in "The Christmas Invasion" so maybe that has something to do with it.

Well, Xmas Spec was brilliant! "Am I Ginger?" . Tennant looks like a brilliant Doctor, does anyone here agree?

David Tennant was excellent! He was funny too, and I heard this on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross when David Tennant had a interview, he said that he will be the Doctor for the next series and Billie Piper will remain next time as the Doctor's assistant.

...and Billie Piper will remain next time as the Doctor's assistant. Oh no. Satan! I thought we had a deal! Whilst I agree that Tennant probably will make an excellent Doctor, I have to say that I didn't think much of the Christmas special at all. I probably should have expected I wouldn't from the fact that Russell T. Davies wrote it ( Second Coming was great, mate, but I really don't like your Who work). But no, I gave it a chance. New Doctor, new beginning. I was a fool. It was more something I would expect to see on Mystery Science Theater 3000 than on BBC. Rose, who admittedly I hate with a passion so perhaps I'm being biased, was about as much use as a tailor in a nudist camp (though admittedly I'd rather she be useless than act as a deus ex machina, ala Parting of the Ways) and yet the Doctor still wants her along. And while I'm ranting I might as well ask, did anyone else want to shout "There can be only one!" during that end battle? To be honest, if it weren't for Tennant I doubt I'd watch the next series. Screw the Cybermen, they'll probably end up getting emotions anyway. If only that guy didn't seem like he will play a good Doctor. I guess my problem is that I don't know if it's meant to be taken seriously or not. If it's not, then I commend them for their work (The stories are so bad they're hilarious). If it is, then they've failed as far as I'm concerned. That's the thing, 'cos other people seem to like it, and I can't help but feel I've missed the joke. Ah well, got a couple of classic Who DVDs for Crimbo (Including one with Patrick Troughton, who I say is my favourite Doctor, and now he has a chance to prove it), so at least there's that. And I'd better make this clear. If you enjoy the new series, good on ya. It's just not my cup of tea is all.

I must say that I absolutely loved the Christmas special. Tennant puts a new spin on the Doctor- as if the character has moved on from the introspective, gloomy character of the Ninth Doctor to a more confident Tenth, more comfortable in his role.
Only one thing- did anyone else think the Christmas elements felt a little tacked on? Here are these hideous warrior aliens, and they use Christmas trees and Santas...

Dr Who is an interesting series in my eyes. Perhaps the best of the original science-fiction. Whilst the special effects might have been not so special in our modern eyes, it was all made much more believable bythe quality of the acting. I wouldn't mind being able to get the whole lot on DVD/VHS, but that means I have to add to my already extensive list:
- Thomas Seasons 1-4 (perhaps 5 - 10 for posterity's sake) - Tugs - M*A*S*H - Dad's Army - McHale's Navy - Hogan's Heroes - Locomotion (BBC Documentary) - Dr Who
It's going to be quite a collection!

Heh, I'm Hartnell. Never knew I would be cranky... Actually, cheers to Nanaki here, this quiz has given me a idea. If you had the chance to be him (or her ), describe your Doctor. Now, I don't have a answer as of yet, but i will do soon

The Second Doctor: You are a small, clownish figure, who often dances happy jigs while playing a tune on your recorder. Though you often seem terrified of the monsters you encounter, you are a sly combatant of evil, often playing the fool in order to trick your foes into underestimating you.
Thing is though, the test is too easy. You can pretty much choose which Doctor you want to be, which I'm pretty sure I did. Still, if you mix and match, I guess it's not so bad.

Yeah, if you know Doctor Who then you can pick whichever Doctor you want. I think if I could be any doctor, it would be the Ninth or the Fourth. Or maybe the First... Oh, but the Tenth is shaping up quite well...
If I had to choose one, I'd go with the Ninth. Quirky, emotional and a little bit sexy. Although I'll go with someone else's wardrobe if I may.

How would my Doctor be?
He would be The Intellectual. In full burgundy / royal blue ensemble (fedora hat, waistcoat, jacket, tie and trousers all in the same colour), my Doctor would be the reserved observer, taking notes, then springing into action.
Thought patterns would be erratic and non-linear. Is no longer the rough and tumble type, but is rather the gentleman, the patron of the Universe.

Has anyone seen 'Scream of the Shalka'? It's the animated Who story on the BBC website, starring Richard E. Grant as the Doctor.

Aye, I saw that. Not a bad story, if I recall properly. And the animation's much better than some of the other stories on offer, e.g. Shada. But in the latter's case, it's the story that makes it watchable. And if we're talking about our own visions of The Doctor...
My Doctor would be a mystery, someone who doesn't like to dwell too much on his own past, and would rather focus on the future. Someone who would help his companions find a solution to a problem, even if he already knew the answer. A 'big brother' figure to his friends, always looking out for them. He would always be ready with a joke or a quip, to put people at ease. He would keep an air of confidence around him to prevent them from being scared, even though he may feel that way himself on the inside. He would be an optimist, someone who looks for the best in everyone. He'd try to convince his enemies to turn to the side of good. Yet he would also have a slight cynicism, to prepare for those that aren't easily turned. Would rather outwit his enemies than outfight them, to get a true sense of satisfaction. Would dress and look untidy, possibly to make his enemies underestimate him, possibly because he can't be bothered with grooming. His methods are his own, and he is answerable to no one. He is not human, and does not need to act as such. However, he knows he is not superior, and never pretends to be. He is The Doctor, and that is all that matters.
