Here comes another Thomas-based show. This time it's about subway trains. Sounds interesting? Yeah, I didn't think so either. Here's a selection of an article about it.
Peep, peep! Look out Thomas, there's a troublesome rival on the tracks. After 60 years of the little blue engine's supremacy on the rails, a new character is hoping to shunt him out of the affections of fans.
Underground Ernie is to be launched by the BBC early next year on CBeebies, its digital channel for toddlers. Ernie, a Tube supervisor, is joined by a fleet of trains, each named after a line on the London Underground - Bakerloo, Circle, Jubilee, Victoria and Hammersmith & City.

I can just see how HiT tries to compete: "Quick! We need a subway engine!"

Ah, we laugh now, but remember what we got when Bob the Builder became a success? Jack and the ****ing Pack. I'm getting my tin hat before the Fat Controller sends Thomas to help out on the Sodor Underground...

I am against the whole idea of having this series made.
One: It's a blantant rip-off of Thomas in ways Two: It's made in CG Animation (I hate CG Animation) and Three: The amount of unintentional racism in it.
Yes, I am beating it to death with a Phillips before it begins to live. I'm not having Thomas being replaced popularity-wise by another CBBC show. I've just got over the Teletubbies incident.

Is it just me, or are those train's faces kinda creepy looking? If I was a little kid they would probably freak me out.

I must admit. does look VERY childish in some...ok most places. But, like Ryan had said on the old forum's. it will help out a bomb getting the Undergrounds reptutation up after the London Bombings.

Ah, that's true JBD. Goodcall there. The voices though...wouldn't it be great if they got the VA for Top Hat to do Bakerloo?

I was looking at the web site a couple of minutes ago and I want to know the answer to this qusetions. Anyone that comes up with a good answer gets the award for "sheer genius". Question 1: How can subway\Tubes from Japan, Austraila and America get to England when theres no tunnels for all three places? And you can't say they were transported by boats Question 2: How the heck can Moscow get through the tunnels around the underground. If you want to see what I mean goto www.undergroundernie.com/ then click on "International Station" Anyone that comes up with a good answer gets the award for "sheer genius". Shady

1. Quite simple, shady-They didn't. These trains aren't from Japan, Australia or America at all! What we have here is a case of culture-switch, i.e. someone obsessed with another country's culture. To wit, we have a Japanophile, an Ozziephile and an Ameriphile, respectively. This not only explains how they got to England (They were in England all along), but also explains their terrible graps on the clothes their respective countries wear. I mean, no true Japanese person would wear what Osaka's wearing.
2. Moscow's hat, like the top hats of old, is collapsoble. That means it can be compressed when it needs to be smaller. Moscow has his hat collapsed when going through the tunnels, but likes to have it at its full height when chatting with his friends at the stations.
I think a better question might have been 'Why do all the trains look like caterpillars?'

Y'know, I think Alaric might have me beat there. I've taken a deeper look at the site, and I'll be honest: I'll give it a chance. If it has a decent script, it might do very well WITHOUT poaching on Thomas the Tank Engine... ...but if it came down to the wires, a certain blue steam engine'd always win.

...but if it came down to the wires, a certain blue steam engine'd always win. I don't see what the 'Duchess of Gloucester' has to do with anything. I probably won't watch this, because I have little interest in it TBH. I mean, I might watch an episode to see what it's like, but it's not on my priority list.
