Oddly enough, the Picadilly line seems to be comming out from the International Underground station, unless that's where all the international trains come from.

Thanks for the link to the updated site, Boco. I'm reading the character bios right now. How are trains into games, e-mail, music, and pointless trivia? The glasses and hats are really strange.

I saw a poster for it on the real Underground yesterday. I'm starting to feel like I'll be a bad person if I don't watch this.
Re the whole trains being into email and so forth, I tend to think that if they can talk and think, why not?

Okay, sorry to double-post here, but I've just seen the first episode.
First up, I think it's pretty good as children's programmes go. I suspect most people here will hate it, though. It's very definitely a kids' thing.
It's not the Thomas the Tank Engine rip-off that the press has accused it of being. I'd say it's closer in spirit to Bob the Builder. There are some reasonably funny jokes (again, for a kids' show), and the characters and story are pretty reasonable too. Some of the dialogue is a little clunky, but I suppose that's to be expected.
I do quite like the Bakerloo character - he falls somewhere between Gordon and Top Hat, and it's nice to see an intellectual character in children's television. Jubilee also bears a resemblance to a Thomas character, namely Percy. Millie, the human female character, is quite annoying. Permanently perky, she seems to be the sort of person who's never had a hangover. Although she did say at one point that she was "switching to automatic", which explains a lot about Underground staff. This episode also featured a busker character called "The Entertainer", as opposed to what he'd be called on the real Underground, i.e. "The Untalented Jobless Layabout, Heave A Brick At Him".
The animation was a little too smooth for my taste, but I couldn't fault the design work. I know people have said the faces are grotesque, but really, are they any worse than the ones in Tugs? There were one or two places where they'd blatantly cut back on the animation, most notably a scene where there was supposed to be a huge crowd of fans who you never actually see.
Overall, I can't see it becoming a massive hit on the scale of, say, Bob the Builder or Thomas the Tank Engine, partly because I don't think it has international appeal - outside of Britain, a Tube is just another train, and we already have Thomas for that. But it's not a bad show by any means, and I can see it developing into something very watchable. I suspect kids will love it.

I do quite like the Bakerloo character - he falls somewhere between Gordon and Top Hat, and it's nice to see an intellectual character in children's television. I saw the first episode today also. I didn't actually "watch" it as such as I was doing other things at the time, but the dialogue was something I didn't shudder at like on most shows, and I can quite easily see Bakerloo becoming a favourite amongst adults who watch the show with their kids. No doubt he will get more appearances in later episodes. Not sure if I may be able to catch other episodes, but I'll post here whenever I do see one.

Saw the second episode today. Bakerloo goes from strength to strength, I get the feeling the writers like him too. But again I noticed that they seem to have cut back on animation - they spend the episode going on about a medieval fair, and we never actually see it. I suppose it's a budget thing.

I missed this one, and with Bakerloo being a main character!
Still, there's always tomorrow's episode.

I haven't seen a full episode yet, but I've been on the official website to check out what's been updated. Most of the characters look pretty good - especially Bakerloo, Jubilee, Victoria and the Russian one. For some reason Barkerloo's voice reminds me very much of Alec Baldwin's Sir Topham Hatt!

I saw the second episode today, I missed the first episode yesterday. I did enjoy it, it wasn't as good as Thomas but it was different.
In some ways it's like Bob the Builder, unless I'm talking gobbydigop.

No, I made a similar point myself. I'd say it's closer to Bob than Thomas, because the central character is a human who is in charge of the living machines. None of the train characters are central, whereas in Thomas the trains are very much the focus, with humans usually secondary.
