I was able to listen/read the latest Mr. Men books on Miss Brave, Valentine and Mr. Calm. I quite like the concept of a Valentine version of Santa Claus. I kinda wish both Valentine and her cousin were made around the same time rather than years apart as making those two characters together to have their own books would've been a better companion piece (eg Mr. Busy and Mr. Slow). Miss Brave's book is very good and I like the idea of Miss Shy standing up for the title character. I also like how Mr. Calm's book is done as well, but I think the issue is that it feels more like something that would've fit better for Mr. Happy or Quiet, which I think it's something I feel like the Mr. Men franchise is kinda guilty of, which is rehashing the same character traits for character. I know it's not an original idea the series retreads, but I feel like at some point it's either gonna be too tiresome or they would clash too much. This was kinda why I see the 2008 show kinda limiting the cast as to 31 characters as they don't want too many characters that clash each other (one of the staff members state this was the reason Mr. Funny never spoke as he would clash with Scatterbrain). Despite that, I do hope we get the other contenders have their own books as I feel like they would be wasted potential for those who voted them. 01Salty Can you see try give better image links on the Stranger Danger Mr. Men and the French Celebrity? I saw that the image links are broken.

Yep, 'Uppity' Is Racist - The AtlanticI've seen a similar sentiment to as what is in the linked article before. (Although the article does have a bit of a 'how dare people not know this by now' air to it I don't find necessary; you can't know something if you haven't encountered the necessary knowledge.) But I think this is probably going to be why.

I personally feel like it's slightly jarring to get used to. I know the Miss Plump had her name changed, but at least it was a decade gap, whereas with Uppity hasn't got changed almost 50 years since the character was released. I understand what's going on with the world, but I feel like they could've had another name for the character as I felt like Snooty is a bit childish (I know the series is aimed at kids, but like what Awdry said, children like high sounding words) and should've been another word that has the same class as "uppity" without being a slur. Then again, I feel like some people are trying to fin things to complain these days.
Anyways, I decided to buy the four Spice Girl books just in case they are out of stock like with Miss Stella.

There was an Intercity trains advert with Mr Men and one included Little Miss Carefree who hasn't got her own book published in the UK. Interesting how the French exclusive characters find a way into merchandising.

So I was right on my last post that the Spice Girls books would be out of print as the links are broken, though the main page is still intact. There was an Intercity trains advert with Mr Men and one included Little Miss Carefree who hasn't got her own book published in the UK. Interesting how the French exclusive characters find a way into merchandising. Kinda surprised as the French characters aren't used a lot outside of the country, with the exceptions of Miss Careful (who appeared in Miss Curious' book) and Miss Prim (who appeared and spoke in the 90s cartoon). Though I had trouble finding Miss Carefree as most people translate her name to another one.

Though I had trouble finding Miss Carefree as most people translate her name to another one. In the 90's I had some stickers that came from the comics that featured the French characters. It incorrectly names Little Miss Careful as Little Miss Blunder. Little Miss Carefree was there and so was Little Miss Loud and Busy-Body. I also had some Mr Men learning leaflet that had Little Miss Yes on it. I think Little Miss Pretty and Show Off were also in some promotional merchandise. That was how thier names got confirmed.
