So this popped up on the official Doctor Who YT page! Michelle Gomez (Missy) narrated the book on 12.
There's some commercials Subway is doing on Mr. Men toys for their kids' meals.

So these popped up, so I guess these are official from Adam Hargreaves. It's the Mr. Men versions of Second, Seventh through Ninth (minus the War Doctor). I don't think they look too bad, though like with Fourth, I don't like Ninth being a reskin of Mr. mean, unless they do something about some of the Doctors looking like other existing Mr. Men. Second is somewhat funny in hindsight, as my take of the Doctor had the same body as Miss Helpful. XD

I have mixed views on this character. She could end up being interesting but I feel it's a rehash of Mr Clever who has invented things before and so did Little Miss Useful, one of the French character who I've been longing for years to come into print of English Versions. (I still keep the faith Mr. Nobody got printed after years of being out of print).
Also this seems like pandering again which I'm not really a big fan of. There are lots of Little miss characters with positive traits such as Little Miss Sunshine, Magic, Wise and Fun so why is Little Miss Inventor being quoted as being a positive female role model when they already exist.
I know it's hard coming up with new traits to form characters and I'm sure some can be done. There are ideas out there. I'm sure and hope Little Miss Inventor will be a worthy cast member but so far we already have those traits in Mr Men.

Can't believe it's been a whole year to the day since a post was last made here! I've ended up reading Little Miss Inventor's book, and it wasn't bad. She's a pretty cool new character. Also just found out there's been a new 'exclusive' character introduced recently, Little Miss Miracle, for cosmetic company La Mer: More info here: www.reallyree.com/la-mer-little-miss-miracle-creme-de-la-mer-exclusive-limited-edition/I thought it was a return of Little Miss Jealous at first glance! And good luck if anyone wants to own the primary piece of merchandise she's on- it costs over $300! Plus, this now makes over 20 company/product exclusive Mr Men and Little Miss characters. At this point I'm pretty miffed that the owners of the Mr Men brand aren't fully committing to their characters by making books of them too. The whole thing started as a bloomin' book series!
Also, in other news, McDonald's here in Australia are currently releasing Mr. Men and Little Miss toys with their Happy Meals. Scroll down on this page to see them all. I may end up getting some, not sure yet!

I've just found this alternate Mr Men Theme.
The strange thing is I vaguely remember hearing this theme when I was three but after that never heard it again and believed it wasn't real. Nice to hear it again anyway.

Mr Men are celebrating thier 50th birthday this year. And to celebrate there will be two new characters and you can vote who they are. www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-9134281/Mr-Men-Little-Miss-launching-public-vote-new-characters.htmlNot sure who I'll be voting as none of them sound like good characters. They just seem bland to me. I still want the french exclusive characters to be part of the official line up. They all have good personalities. It feels like Little Miss Loud and Careful have been waiting for decades to have ther won book translated into English. That would be a good 50th present.

That really doesn't seem the most well thought-through marketing ploy, really. The vote gets people interacting and tweeting and sharing (and doing their marketing for them on their social media, which is what most marketing schemes are about these days!) but it also means that a lot of people are going to be teased with a character they vote for and then only be disappointed when they don't get them. Could you imagine for Thomas's 70th anniversary, Glynn, Judy & Jerome, Ryan, Skiff and Philip were pitted against each other, and because more parents, not realising the significance of some of the other options, thought their children would like bouncy, energetic little Philip, meaning fans ended up being denied a Coffee-pot being introduced into the series? I almost hope there's a rug-pull here and all five characters become fully realised, especially considering how there's clearly a story in mind for each one waiting to be written. But OJ makes a good point too; how many completionists out there must there be who'd just like some of the swathes of more obscure, lesser-known 'exclusive' characters to just be more accessible or universally fully realised? With the Mr Men and Little Miss series, it seems like there are so many 'half-count, half-don't' characters. (Also slow clap to the Daily Mail for categorising this in their 'femail' section, as if only mothers, but not fathers, care about what books their children read )

I see you're point Nicholas. Obviously to keep the brand alive in the future, they'll need new characters. We have some here already so those who weren't voted does that mean they won't get a book ever?
The reason I want to see the French exclusive characters is there's some great potential in some like Little Miss Loud and Little Miss selfish. You could write great stories about characters like those.
I would also like Little Miss Calamity from the Mr Men show to get her own book to and let her officaly join the cast. I quite liked her.

So it's been announced that the winners are Miss Brave and Mr. Calm, which makes me wonder if they would do books on the other characters as they're designed very well.
Also heard about that documentary Matt Lucas did, but is there anyway to watch outside the UK?

(This is my 300th post - neat!)
The documentary I'm fairly sure is on Channel 4's streaming service, ala More4, so that might be a good way for people outside of the UK to watch it.
As the Mr Men franchise has been part of my childhood for a long time I did give this a watch, and I really liked it, although it was a shame that the 1995 cartoon and the 2008 Mr Men Show were never acknowledged (either cut for time or they couldn't get permission to use the footage, perhaps. On an unrelated note, I seem to remember on one of the DVDs for The Mr Men Show, there exists an interview with Adam Hardgreaves discussing his thoughts on this series which I'd recommend watching, you can find it here:
Either way, it was a nice insight as to how the franchise started, where it is now and what has gone and what goes into it. My mother asked whether Roger would have approved of where the franchise has gone - there'd be no way to know without putting words into a dead man's mouth. Perhaps it'd be a Reverend Awdry situation where he'd disapprove of the brand's commercialism?

Something I can't believe I've only just noticed about the Mr Men series is that every book title of a male character is grammatically incorrect.
In the British English prints of the books, every book gives the title of the character as, for example 'Mr. Happy', 'Mr. Funny', 'Mr. Strong', 'Mr. Impossible', 'Mr. Clever', 'Mr. Perfect', and so on, placing a period after the 'Mr' title. In British English the correct use of the period in such titles should indicate an abbreviation, that being where letters have been taken from only the end of the word, as opposed to a contraction, that being where letters have been taken from only the middle of the word. To expand upon this, titles such as 'Mr', 'Miss', 'Ms' or 'Dr' should not be followed by a period, whereas titles such as 'Capt.' or 'Prof.' should be. Therefore, in British English, 'Mr. Happy', for instance, should be 'Mr Happy'.

Adam is still involved with writing the new books I beleive. I saw the documentry while I was on holiday and I thought it was good. Glad the little Miss show from the 80's got mentioned as I think that's the best animated version of the Mr Men. I do like the 70s too. I actually voted for Little Miss Brave on the website so that's one of my votes that happened. I alsovoted Little Miss Energy. So Happy 50th Birthday Mr Men and Little Miss

A belated (and extensive) contribution/update here! Firstly, a step in the right direction for fully realising merchandise-fodder characters: Little Miss Valentine has received her own book: See here. Having since purchased and read it, it is a neat book, and is larger in size than the standard releases. Unfortunately it falls under the 'special' category like the Birthdays and Christmases, so not part of the 'official' line up. As well as this, there have been the "Little Miss Spice Girls", based off the real singers (akin to Little Miss Stella): As well as general merchandise and apparel, they all appear to have their own books, which can be purchased through the Mr Men official site. AND, just this year they've announced a new series of Mr Men/Assassin's Creed crossover books, akin to the Doctor Who characters, scheduled to be released this year: More info here.
Secondly, here's a fascinating article about the Mr Men franchise's 50th anniversary, which includes behind-the-scenes insight into how the brand got off the ground: How the Mr Men made their millions
Thirdly, having recently joined an online Mr Men fan group, I've been made aware of a great number of more exclusive Mr Men & Little Miss characters created over the years that I had no idea existed! Here they are: Little Miss Safety and Mr. NoCreated in 1988 to promote a 'Stranger Danger' campaign, co-produced by BBC and an Australian company. This means that there are now three Mr. No characters, and funnily enough the more well-known French Mr. No was in fact not the first one! French Celebrity Mr Men & Little MissDrawn by Adam Hargreaves in 2007. All based off celebrities as titled. Apparently a special book was made of each and auctioned on eBay, but I can't find any evidence of them. Little Miss AFLSeems to have been created in 2016 to promote numerous Australian AFL teams. Can't find any news articles or official announcements, just clothing websites. Mrs. Green AppleAnother character created in 2016, as a mascot for a Japanese band of the same name. More info here. Mr. Ashin and Mr. MousyCreated in 2018 for a Chinese company called StayReal. Mr Ashin is based on the real singer of the same name who co-founded the brand. Mr. Shouty and Little Miss PoutyCreated earlier this year. Based directly off British TV presenters Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid. More info here. As well as these, a few obscure characters from the brand's history: Mr. Amazed and Mr. NeatBoth appeared in commercials for tech company Olivetti in 1985: The First Little Miss Ever CreatedAn unnamed Little Miss makes a cameo in the animated adaptation of the Mr. Bump story, which was released in the 1970s and therefore pre-dates all the Little Miss books! She can be seen at 2:47:
And, finally, a recent creative project of mine was to take a recently released official Mr Men & Little Miss poster, and edit it so that almost every single character under the Mr Men brand is featured. This is the final result: Quite impressive isn't it! Here is a link to the original for comparison. Anyway, that's all from me for now!
