Oh yeah. I thought they made Papelbon a starter, but according to his profile on espn.com he's back in the closer's role.

For major league baseball I'm a Phillies fan and a Yankees fan. Does anyone know whatever happened to Japanese baseball player Hideo Nomo? He was the first japanese person to make a living by playing in the major league but appearently hes not on any team anymore.

Yeah... he sort of dropped out of the radar. I remember he had a no-hitter for he Red Sox a few years back, but otherwise in my eyes his career was rather unspectacular.

He last played for the ChiSox' AAA team in 2006, and hasn't pitched since. Surprising that a Japanese league team didn't even pick him up.

Thats probably because he still hasn't come back to Japan yet. If he did I'd reckon at least 4 teams would want him.

Despite the fact that I'm the biggest freakin' BoSox fan I know, I can tell that at the end of this Red Sox/Yankees, they'll only be 5 games up...Friggin' Damon....

Damon blows. Roided-up little ----. Beckett was really good tonight... yeah I know, he gave up 14 hits, but only 4 runs to show for it! Normally with that many the Yanks would've had 8, 9, maybe 12. Right now it's 4-3, bottom of 9th... never mind. (insert extensive string of expletives here)

I'm getting kinda worried about my Mets the past couple of days. Three straight losses against Philly and still one more game to play tomorrow. Lead's been decreased from six to three games since the weekend.

Kind of a negative comment I have, but I was always bugged by how it's called the World Series, when it's not really an international competition. I know it's just a name but I don't see why can't be called the National Series or something like that. I was just wondering if how the baseball fans here felt about it.

Big fan of Andy Pettitte, Mariano Rivera, Bernie Williams, and Brett Gardner as well. Outside of the Yankees, my favorite player was Bobby Abreu (who was briefly a Yankee, but I'll remember him for his Phillies days).

I love baseball. My favorite team is the New York Yankees. My favorite player is Derek Jeter but he retired .

I hope you folks have kept up with the playoffs. Though my team is out, I must say this season's Division Series round has been fantastic. Three five-game series and the Cubs playing well makes for good television

I can't say that I'm a huge fan of any sport, but I do watch this one on a rare occasion. Especially when the Cubs are doing as well as they have been! My family has strong ties with Chicago, so I try to root for the Cubs whenever I can.
It's kind of funny; my car (which used to be my mom's) has a pair of Cubs floor mats in it. I was going to take them out, but when I saw how well the team was doing, I decided to leave them in there as a sort of good luck charm, despite my usual lack of any sort of superstition. But let's be honest here, it's hard to not be superstitious when you're a Cubs fan.

Please don't kill me, but I'm a fan of the San Francisco Giants. Sad to see them not in the playoffs this year, but hey, as log as the Dodgers don't win (again, this is a game, pleeaaasee don't murder me).

I'm a Yankees and Blue Jays fan. Needless to say this has actually been a good season compared to other years. Now let's just hope the Royals don't ruin it the way the Astros did.

My Favorite MLB Team is the Pittsburgh Pirates, they may suck but i always root for my team. They got some good key pieces this year which can HOPEFULLY turn into a wildcard spot by 2023,2024 or 2025 including getting Cutch back.
