This is a continuation of the thread from the old SiF.
Last year, I met the Summer Olympics gymnast Dominique Dawes, as part of the Young Heroes ceremony. She was competing in Sydney, Australia.
Just today, we started rehearsals for "Grease" and we were visited by Marion Ramsey, who had played Laverne Hooks in "Police Academy", and she even said she knew Didi Conn (Stacy Jones in "Magic Railroad" and "Shining Time Station").

Hmm... let's see... I've met Jeremy Bulloch, who played Boba Fett, and Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca, in the original Star Wars movies. I also met Angee Hughes, who played Wanda Gilmore on Wishbone(Met Wishbone too! He growled at me!). I almost met Lou Ferrigno, aka The Incredible Hulk, when I was going to a comic book convention. I was in a hotel, checking in, when he walked in after going to dinner at some place that one of the hotel workers suggested. He complained about the food, and threatened the hotel worker.
Come to think of it, most of the famous people that I have met were met at comic book conventions.

I've met quite a few. Several members of the Redgrave acting dynasty. I worked with Brian Protheroe, who appeared a few times in 'Love Soup' and Katey Kastin, who played Rose in 'The Demon Headmaster'. Also Kika Markham, who's one of these Grand Old Actresses. I once drunkenly tried to chat lesbian comedienne Jackie Clune up. I failed to recognise Leo Sayer and Stephen Berkoff. I attacked Vanessa Feltz in the street. I've had acting lessons from Victor Spinetti and John Baddeley (who's only really famous if you're familiar with Tugs). I once went to a party thrown by cult author Martin Millar. I'm related to Barbara Follett MP and Charles Guthrie. I've met numerous authors at signings. I once interviewed Robert Llewellyn.
Also, if you're in Britain, look at a banknote. If it was printed before 2003, the signature on it will be "Merlyn Lowther". She's a friend of mine, and the first female Chief Cashier of the Bank of England. Which I only found out recently, when I actually bothered to read one. I knew she used to work at the Bank of England, but I didn't know she was quite so high up. She's a member of my theatre group and a thoroughly lovely person.

Celebrities I've met
1) Saw Timmy Mallet doing a show in a park. I was only 4 at the time. Another year, at the same park I saw characters from a show which I can't remember the name of. It sounds like an early version of little Britain. The main character was a women but she was supposed to be a schoolboy with ginger hair. 2) Been to loads on pantos when I was a kid. When I went I saw That women who plays Louise in Emmerdale but when I saw her she was in "Home and away", Falcoln from Gladiators, Mr Blobby, someone from the Russ Abott show Bobby Knut who's famous in Yorkshire (Where I'm from) and the Chucklebrothers who were both great. I even waited outside to get their autographs. Barry thanked me for coming to see the show. 3) I've seen some Celebs in bookshops. I saw Jackie Charlton,David Blunkett and John Cunliffe (from Rosie and Jim and writer of Postman Pat) 4) Saw Newcastle United play. I even saw Alan Shearer score. 5) Saw Christopher Awdry at the Talylyn railway. I had a chat with him about Thomas and saw him narrate the first two stories of "Four little engines"

Bet they didn't like him when he was angry, eh? Me? Not really, but my older brother and sister had met John Cunliffe once (of Postman Pat and Rosie and Jim fame). They got a Rosie and Jim book from him signed! Impressed? ( NO!) Jasper Carrott appeared at my school's Sports days, and opened the Senior student department. God, I envy you so badly. Japser Carrott is my favourite comedian!

I met Fred Dibnah, the old steeplejack and TV historian at a steam rally in Kent about 6 years ago. I just walked up to him, shook his hand, got his autograph and admired his steamroller that he'd brought down on a low-loader. Nice chap.
I also met Jenny Agutter from 'The Railway Children' who was visiting the Bluebell Railway at the time. We talked for a long time about the effect that the film had on her life. She even told me about a time when she was caught in a nightclub when she was meant to be filming on location....NAUGHTY, NAUGHTY! Ah well, that was well over 35 years ago.

Haha, I've met a different Michael J: Michael J. Fox, star of the Back to the Future trilogy! My mom and I were extras on his show back in the early 90's.
I've met Mr. Lahey, Randy and Lucy from Trailer Park Boys, but I really doubt anybody here knows of them, as they're not too well-known outside of Canada.
Darn, I know I've met some others too... Urg, I forget at the moment, but I'll edit this post if I remember.
