I've been a member of my school's marching band for two years. I'm in the percussion section.

I'm not in a band, but I'm great at playing the drums and writing songs. I wouldn't say that I'm great at the keyboard, but I'm good at improvising on it. I'm also great at playing the triangle.

I play clarinet in my school's marching/concert band. People keep telling me that I'm really good, but I don't always see what they think is so good about me. I also play the piano (and therefore I was able to join my school's spring drumline playing mallet purcussions--so far i've only been able to play the vibes and bells, but i like the sound of the marimba better. it beats bells and xylo...vibes are ok). I played recorder for a few years--i was forced to (and i hated it with all my heart). just the other day, i was able to pull out a C on the flute. i played drums for a while as well.

question---for anyone who plays trombone...our band might be in need of trombone players...i don't really know. one isn't gonna change the world, i know, but i was thinking about asking my band director if i could borrow a trombone to learn to play. should i? and if so, about how long would it take me to learn? how difficult is it and what is the hardest thing to learn?

I also play the trombone. Like most things it just requires time and practice. Of course, the darned thing is hard to march with, I'll say that...!
Outside of trombone I play guitar (a black Fender Stratocaster if you want to know), and drum set (which I play at my church).

<<<Kate Sings!>>>Now, I know this isn't the best audio quality (still trying to figure out all the gadgets and doodads on Mixcraft), but it's a small sampling of what my friend Josh and I have been up to lately. The mp3 was hashed together in about an hour before work, and all the voices are done by myself (unfortunately), once again using music from the Broadway musical Wicked. Josh and I also did a version together here, in a webcam performance. *sits back and awaits a barrage of tomatoes*

(barrages Kate with tomatoes)
Don't get me wrong, it was good. But you know, I got all these tomatoes that are gonna go to waste, and you WERE expecting an onslaught of them, so it would just be wasteful NOT to throw them at you. Besides, tomato isn't exactly a horror to clean up, so I guess it's no big deal. Yeah.
No, no, it was good. I liked it.

wow, the bassoon is kinda heavy too. not really heavy, but it's weird and hard to hold...it's a LOT different from the clarinet, i'm finding that out now!

I've got a good baritone voice, I used to play the recorder in high school and I can play a few short pieces on the piano (including the first verse of The Island Song). I was in the Sing NSW choir (soprano/tenor/bass) for six years. When I left high school, I was in the Central Coast Conservertoriem choir (tenor) for nine months. I left because they sang mostly classical music and I got bored. That, and I said the f word to the conductor's face.
I'm going to the Wyong Musical Junior's audition for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat this afternoon. I'm trying out for the role of Jacob, Fingers crossed, I'll let you know what happens.
EDIT:
I auditioned, They seemed to like it. They asked me to call them on Tuesday to see if I got the part. They also said that Jacob could use a walking stick and that I wouldn't have to use a fake beard, so there's a pretty good chance. I'll tell you the results on Tuesday.
EDIT:
The results are in, I GOT THE PART!!!! Rehersals begin on Saturday July 16th. After 7 years of absense, I'm back in the acting game. I've never been so happy.
