Been at a loss about today's news - this one hit hard. Jason David Frank was such a force of a personality, who radiated positive energy, gratitude and determination in everything he did – you can’t imagine it ever being extinguished.
I was just born at the right age and right time to be a Power Rangers kid, but it was probably when rediscovering it in my teens that it really made an impact on my life. Amongst all this campness, there was so much more – messages of friendship, teamwork, and above all else, positivity and staying hopeful when things are at their toughest. Around 2006, with plenty of tough moments in my life, I think Power Rangers not only got me through that, but also gave me the hope to keep on trying and build my positivity, be the best version of myself. It’s debatable how much this paid off, but there were positive results and for that, I will always be grateful to Power Rangers.
And it was during this 2006-07 period that I really came to appreciate Tommy, and in turn, Jason David Frank. You could see why this character was so loved – he was by far the most skilled martial artist, and he really had the courage and strength of character to be leader of the team. A true inspiration - I was so close to dying my hair black and getting a goatee (ala. his Dino Thunder years).
And although I never got to meet JDF at a Con, you could tell that he was like this in real life too. He was never ashamed of his Power Ranger roots - he continued to live his passion for the brand through his numerous returns to the franchise, promotional work convention appearances for the next ten years.
Rest in Peace JDF - "To those who possess the Great Power, all things are possible."

I found out about this sad news last night, and as someone who's been a Power Rangers fan from the very outset at just the right age of being five years old coming up six when Power Rangers first came out, this one has been extremely hard because Jason David Frank was one of my childhood heroes.
Throughout my childhood Power Rangers had always been everything to me, my very first Superheroes before discovering all the DC and Marvel Superheroes, and Tommy was always the character who I idolised. To this day I can revisit all the seasons which featured Tommy and I still get a kick out of it - just as I did when I was Kid.
Rest in Peace JDF.
P.S. I also made a short tribute to short tribute video to Jason David Frank:

This one has hit me particularly hard. Jason David Frank was one of my childhood heroes, and I'm grateful for that contribution to my life - he was a part of the lives of millions of kids throughout the 90s and 00's, and remained an iconic part of the series as a welcome special guest on later seasons. He gave a lot of himself for the fans, and much as some people didn't always appreciate those efforts, the vast majority of us loved him for it.
I had the pleasure of meeting him back in 2019 at a convention, and Fox had him record a message for me at London Comic Con back a few years prior. He was so genuine, upbeat, engaged and enthusiastic with the fans - despite there being a queue that stretched for a fair way to meet him.
It's taking a lot to process the reality that he's actually no longer with us. It's particularly heartbreaking to think of his family and friends and how they must be feeling at this time. For me as a fan, I join a legion of people who have lost a role model who portrayed a character who kept fighting until the last breath, never gave up when the odds were against him, was always willing to keep going when he had nothing left in the tank. Think that's why a lot of us resonated with the Green Ranger in particular, he was representative of what you should do when things got tough.
Having worked in mental health nursing for ten years, I know what it's like to pull someone back from the brink and remind them that tomorrow is always a chance to make a better day. Rock bottom may be a low point, but it's also a solid foundation to build yourself back up. I just wish someone had been there to give Jason a hand up when things had been that tough for him. The world feels a little darker now after this, but we've been blessed with millions of wonderful memories of a truly awesome person. Thanks for everything, rest in peace.

For those who don't know, Netflix dropped the trailer for the upcoming 30th Anniversary Special:
And I must admit, as someone who's been a Power Rangers since the outset. This looks pretty damn good.

This upcoming feature length looks amazing. However I do wish Jason could have been in it as he's my all time fave character. I know the actor is facing legal troubles which is the reason but it would have felt the cast is complete with him in. I know Amy Jo Johnson wanted more money which is the reason why she isn't in this.
Still looking forward to it and I'm ging to watch it on the day of release.

I've only somewhat recently (well I started back in like late-October/early-November) started to actually watch Power Rangers, so I'm going to save watching this special until I've at least finished watching MMPR.
I haven't even finished the first season of MMPR yet.

Way back in my younger days i was into power rangers alot, i even watched Megaforce and Super Megaforce back when they aired. I'm not as big a fan as i was back then, but i still appreciate the franchise. If i had to choose my favorites though: Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers, Lightspeed Rescue, Wild Force, Dino Thunder, Mystic Force, Jungle Fury and the Samurai seasons to be my favorites.
I now see how flawed Megaforce and Super MegaForce were, and even when i was younger i fell off the show after MegaForce and Super Megaforce due to the direction it was taking with Dino Charge not being my cup of tea. If i'm gonna be honest in my opinion i think i made the right call, i honestly think the majority of the new stuff just isn't the same, and isn't of good quality.
Although i did see that one scene where Tommy Oliver (R.I.P Jason) fought that clone of himself and used the master morpher to fight back and defeat said clone thingy, i found that to be a fantastic piece of content. Other than that, not a huge fan of the stuff since Dino Charge.
