Here's the news from me:
My applications for the BA Performing Arts Course in Swansea and the BA Theatre Studies course in Trinity College have both been declined. However, the Vale of Glamorgan University have offered me a place on their Drama course. I've re-applied, also, for an English, Film and TV Studies course in the Swansea Institute. Just hope it works...

As College goes for me, I recently applied to the National Diploma Performing Arts course at my college (I'm currently on 1st Diploma) and just 6 days after my audition and interview I got an acceptance letter! Really pleased by that, although I still have to get Distinction overall. So I'm going to continue working hard towards that. But I'm still pretty chuffed.

I got a Distinction in all 6 parts of my BTEC Art Design and Media course, and my parents are well chuffed as well as me. I have finished my second year and will go into my third year at College.

I've said this elsewhere, but the course tutor in charge of my subject, Performing Arts, says I have unofficially got enough grades to get into the Cardiff Atrium, part of the Glamorgan University. Just need to sort out my accomodation and that'll be it.

I went to visit Bourneville yesterday and out of all the colleges I've visited, this has to be the worst. I mean, the d**n art department was half-built! That and the woman showing us around not only didn't have a clue where she was going, but was also treating me like I was five-years-old!
And everyone who I've spoken to about this subject all said the same lie. 'College is NOTHING like school' my arse! 'You are treated like an adult' my foot!
The trouble is, it's either this crap excuse of a college or the sixth form in my old High School, which I REALLY don't want to go to.
What do I do?

You've only had the interview, and met one person, so it's not to say that everyone acts like her, is it? You've still got to meet the tutors and other students.
As far as the building goes, I'm sure they've got something worked out, as otherwise they wouldn't be able to hold the course there. Chances are, it'll be finished or at least closer to completion by the time the next term starts.
My advice would be to be more optimistic, and not too jump to conclusions so quickly.

Mine was okay - not the best in the world, but, as Flying Scotsman (the engine) once said: "It serves..." I say, for the time being, keep looking. You'll find a place, I'm sure. Stuart

I got a letter from my school today. It would appear I've been given a place on a media course. Sweet, yet another mad liberal journalist is in the making. It's a bit weird though, I've been told I've got a place, but I haven't been told my exam results yet. They should come by the end of the month, or some time next month at the very latest. I start my course on Monday 10th September. I cannae wait.

I'm currently in my capstone courses for my Associate's in Graphic Design - projects include a full-out magazine (where I gotta do all the articles, imagery, photagraphy, etc.), a canvas painting, and several papers to be written.
However, it doesn't really matter to me since I did not take any of the gen ed courses, so I won't get my AD until later... could've skipped the accelerated course thing, I guess XD Might move onwards to a Bachelor's after this, maybe... that is, after I persue oppourtunites in the Star City and surrounding areas ^_~

I'm still waiting for my final BA Hons classification...well irritating. I got a 2:2 initially [which is crap] but was 1.7% off a 2:1. Jumped through all the loopholes to appeal..all I can sit and do now is wait and pray. Arrgh.

Well, it's 'Back to School' tomorrow as far as I know, but not for me! ;D
I am about to start Acting/Performing Arts at Coatbridge College on the 27th August. I have seen those 'Back to School' adverts, but with a different frame of mind!
Any thoughts on what 07/08 will bring to the world of education?

Well, what did everyone get in your GCSEs?
7x As (English Language; English Literature; Mathematics; Science (Double Award); ICT; RE) 4x Bs (Geography; French; ICT (Diploma in Digital Applications - Double) 2x Cs (Music; Statistics)
Onto Sixth Form now... to do English Language, Physics, French & Philosophy and Ethics. (Please, no jokes about Ethics being to the east of London...)

Got an A-star for English Language (which is like an A plus plus in America, yay!) Got Bs for English Literature and Science. Got Cs for History and Spanish. Got Ds for Art and Drama. Got an E for Maths (bawwww).
Now on to my media course! And by "media course" I mean, to sleep.
