Returned to school - or sixth form, rather - today following the Xmas break and it wasn't as awful I was expecting it to be. I had a rather pleasant, if uneventful, day

I'm currently in me 9th year. Oh, it's a blast. I took this year: Advanced English 9 Algebra 1 Advanced Biology (which I regret - that's a HARD class!) American History II Concert Band 'Freshman Block' - which is basically a class each quarter that I am required to take. A math class and some speach classes. Boring Yearbook (my personal favorite) My year is currenlty half over. I have a report due in adv. bio tomorrow on The Nervous System. Let's hope the ol' teacher likes it... Oh, and I have some of my Yearbook pages due for a deadline tomorrow. That's a cool class. ATK

I've started VCE this year, and am doing English (compulsory), Maths, business Management, Psychology, IT and *shudders* Physics, which I had to do due to a subject not running. Am thinking of changing into another Maths instead of Business.
We've started back, yet so far, it has been very uneventful. Lessons are dull and tedious, although I suppose that's what schools about. Starting to seem like the only reason I go (besides trying to get good Uni qualifications) is for socialization. Unlike most people, I seem to have a good group of friends at my school, although quite a few of them don't seem to like being around me because I'm not that talkative (sometimes I can be; maybe once this damn jetlagg wears off, I'll be in more of a mood for socializing)

This year I'm taking Algebra 3-4, best math class I've had in 3 years PE, so boring English, see above Drama, really really fun Biology, very hard, I had finals on it today Spanish, I can barely speak it, God I'm so white I also just got done with my first high school play! It was a lot of fun, despite the difficult people I had to work with. Next week I'm trying out for the musical. We have our formal coming up in three weeks. I'm trying to ask a friend of mine if she'll go with me.

My subjects... there are twenty five one-hour periods a week, so that's five lessons a day: English (x4) Maths (x2) Statistics (x1) Biology (x2) Physics (x2) Chemistry (x1) Geography (x2) French (x2) ICT (x4) Music (x2) PE (x1) RE (x1) Citizenship (x1) The only decent ones are Geography, Music and occasionally English. What I want to take for A-levels... English, Geography, Music and ICT. I think my Mum & Dad want me to do Maths aswell (and the fact I've just got an A* in a recent GCSE modular test, which was for real, probably strengthens this). We have good fun in music. Coursework is composing. Last term it was a stereotypical horror film scene that we had to score for, this half term it's a 1960s-style pop piece! Taking a wee bit of inspiration from Thomas, I've used the chorus of Little Engines to give me ideas of how to get my chorus to be nice and catchy, and I've used a similar technique to the one used to play the chords in the Repairs theme for my verses.

My primary school, Lakefield, was alright, though I did have one or two bad moments, but these were infrequent. Then I went to Coedcae Comprehensive, just up the hill. The first year went ok, but after that, it all went downhill. I suffered bullying and humiliation on a regular basis. But after five years of being there, I finally left and went on to college, where I'm now studying Performing Arts.

my first school was Haborside School where i went from K-6th grade in the earlier years Haborside was a good school with some ups and downs then in 6th grade i left due to some horrible teachers who acted like Drill Sergents and overloaded us with work which is why most of didn't say anything if we were taking a few days off. after sixth grade i Home Schooled from 7th-8th it was better than Haborside but i missed hanging out with my friends but around that time i had just joined a Model Railroad Club so i was pretty happy in 8th grade i went to class(at the main site where my home school was located they had classes on Tuesdays) i went for full days taking high school classes then i switched to half day classes and after class i would run Model Trains at The Railroad museum. i'm now in 9th grade and am going back to real school i'm going to High Tech High Media Arts i'm still getting used to going back to school but i'm having a blast my teachers don't give us lots of work most of the work is projects my teachers aren't bad but my English teacher is pretty disorganized a lot and makes us do very hard work my math teacher is strict but you wouldn't know it when were doing a fun project. my Spanish teacher is pretty nice i'm the top of my class due to the fact that i've taken spanish for 7 years. earlier in the year i had Anime Class all we did was watch Anime now i'm in Independent Filmmaking so i may be making a film soon. My PE teacher is pretty nice my PE is Wiffle Ball(Plastic Equilvent To Baseball) i'm one of the best players due to my Pitching Skills. so far the year has been good i intend to stay at this school for all my High School Years.

I once had a History teacher known as Mr. Pratt.... and he lived up to his name as well..... plus, we were allowed to do our work in "comic-book strip" form, as opposed to wrtting essays. Don't ask to see my artwork, it's horrendous.

Funny you should metion that Kieth, cos we have a lecturer at my college by the name of Mike Pratt. He only lives up to his name on very rare occasions, but it's a good laugh when he does.

School life really isn't all that boring for me. I always have a surprise round the corner and have fun with my friends. My High School is Covington High and I'm always having fun. My typical schedule includes: 1st Period: English I-great teahcer, lots of friends and good grades! 2nd Period: Piano-hilarious teacher and get to play music! 3rd Period: World Geograhpy-Friendly Teacher, lots of friends and I'm always having a good laugh or two. 4th Period: Health Ed-Lots of friends, great teacher and great grades. 5th Period: PE-Favourite class. Easiest class and I get to hang out with my best friends LUNCH: Lunch is nasty so I go to the library and go onto SiF there! 6th Period: Algebra I-Not too bad. I have the best grade ever in this class. It's a good class and we always get to use a calculator. 7th Period: Physical Science-Great class to wrap up the end of a busy day. The teacher is my favourite teacher and our class is so well behaved, we have loads of free time. My teacher and I are great friends. He knows about my liking for Thomas and I even showed him Sodor Island once! So, to conclude, school life is great with me. No problems at all in day, rarely have bully trouble and I've got a friend in each class.

One of my high-school teachers was an obsessive-compulsive...she had the industrial-sized jug of antibacterial stuff ready to spray on our tables every time you put a finger on it Anyway, I finally settled on couses to take at college...I'm going to take Graphic Arts, and try to get an Associate's in it. Maybe if I really like it, I'll go for a Bachelor's. Yay for me *drinks a glass of Merlot* ~Elizabeth

I seem to be one of only a few who really enjoyed their school years and wished that my school had a college facility. I liked all my teachers, even fancied my German teacher and she had a hot sports car, was only in he twenties and was my height. She also convinced me (somehow!) that i'd do well in my tests. I came out with a B so she was right. She had only predicted a C. Sixth form college was utter C***! I hated all teachers and subjects. I'd have had more fun having my teeth taken out! (I've had four removed!) The teachers treated you as irritants and they didn't really care whether you tried or not. So i couldn't wait to leave and start work. I go back to a different college in September to start an apprenticeship in motorsport engineering! Can't wait!

Well, I'm only in seventh grade, and my teachers are pretty sweet. My subjects are pretty easy, though, just Lit, Social Studies, Writing, Math, French, and Science (science being the hardest). My lowest grade last quarter was a B- in science, I got an A- in Math, A in Lit, A in Writing, A- in French, B in Social Studies. We also have UA, or Unified Arts, special classes we have in 5-week blocks: Art, Music, Gym, Guidance/Theater, Health, and Tech (which I'm in right now). We are making electronic portfolios, which is really dumb. Thank god it's my last UA block. Then we have one-week electives fr the rest of the year. In other good news, I got accepted into NJHS! I need to make a portfoolio with the 5 characteristics in it, and it's due April 10th (I haven't even started yet!) Better get cracking on it. My math teacher has to be my favorite. Her name's Ms. Penza (sharing her name with the Russian city, though I don't think she's Russian). She's a riot. We always tease her about her age, even though she's only 47. And if someone p*sses her off, she throws erasers and markers at them! Fun to watch, seeing as JP, one of the kids in my math block who's dumb as a doorknob, is mostly the target of these projectiles!!!!! My lit teacher's nice, too. Mrs. Fish is really fun, she's drama teacher too. We were acting out the swordfight scee in Romeo & Juliet the other day, I was Tybalt, I had to read my lines and swordfight at the same time (everyone else got others to read their lines while they swordfighted)!! Fun stuff!
There's my middle school experience so far.

Okay, I'm really mad right now about a certain teacher at my school. It's my biology and teacher, and I've had it with the guy. Let me explain; Last week he gave us 30 muscles that are located on a pig we're disecting. He told us to find the origin, insertion, and function of the muscles using these really old, and hard to use textbooks. He didn't go over them with us, didn't check our answers, and told us we were going to have a quiz on them. The last few days of class we talked nothing about these muscles, only spending time with our pig, removing skin, looking at parts, etc. So the quiz was today, and he told us nothing about how the quiz was to be laid out, or anything. I spent a total of 7 hours over the last 3 days studying those parts for this quiz. The quiz comes, and there's stuff on there we didn't go over, stuff I didn't understand, stuff that he just threw on from another textbook. Quite simply, I (and many others, for the record) failed terribly. This guy, simply doesn't teach us anything and expects us to figure everything out on our own. So...have any of you ever had a teacher like or similar to this? ATK
