Do you know what really grinds my gears?
After a full day of filming non-stop, finally ready to begin filming again after an all too long break, getting some excellent shots with a great sunny day for just the right lighting, I go through hour after hour of filming, marking off the scenes on the said location, and then, when I go back to look over the recorded material way further on, none of it's actually recorded. Reason being, it's recorded onto a disc, and I can only stop and start it so many times, ie. get so many shots per disc, something like 62. Yup, 62 shots and then you're done; new disc! But when you run out, it doesn't tell you, oh no! Just keeps on 'filming', without actually recording it onto the disc. The things only around a year old now, and I bought it with the intention of it being reliable and lasting way longer than my old camcorder, which ran on mini-tapes. That was far more reliable. This piece of clap-trap won't even record a fair amount, and when it does, half the time the disc ends up corrupt, or the very last scenes 'stick' when you try to play them on a computer because the last things on the disc have not written properly.
I might just get a HDD camcorder (think that's what it's called; one with the hard-drive inside), but my financial situation at the moment is enough of a joke as it is, and my laptop's literally falling to bits and often conks out every half hour or so. I miss the days when things were meant to last or at least do the job you bought them for. Especially something as expensive as a camcorder. It's given me nothing but problems since the day I bought it.
And that's what grinds my gears.

Do you know what really grinds my gears? When the stickers for Speedor's eyes and most of Bear V decide to not stick and stick out awkwardly. Seriously, Bandai Japan, TOEI, whoever makes the Minipla versions, make the stickers stick better. (Though it might just be me as Minipla Engine Oh is the only minipla set I have, but yeah). I hope this doesn't happen when I get Gunbir Oh. Also when people think that Engine Oh translates to only Flame God King. It also means King of Engines. (Engines being the mecha in Go-onger for those who don't know). I don't even see how Enjin O means Flame God King, Hono - Flame, Jin - Gog and O - King. Where does the 'En' come in to it? (Sorry if this seems like a rant, I actually can't help it ) And that what grinds my gears.

If I had gears and axles, they'd be reduced to dust by now. I am fed up - check that, very fed up with Harry Potter spoilers. I began reading the series recently, and I am about half-way through. However, very few surprises still await me in the upcoming books, because almost every d**n website has a whole bunch of irritating people that give away spoilers in places where they don't belong (to be perfectly honest, this is the only site I've yet to see it on). Really, I've seen people mention it in passing, put it in their signatures, and even make whole threads about it. If the discussion was confined to a thread or two, which people have the option to visit or not, I'd be fine with it, but they blatantly state it in popular threads; the way they do it it's as if every person has read the books or seen the movies and so assume that it's okay to give away important things. Thanks to these inconsiderate jerks, I know just about every person that J.K. Rowling has killed in the series. Oh, what I'd give to own a memory eraser! On a completely unrelated note, I seem to have a knack for making an idiot of myself in front of my classmates. Three times in less than a week!

The annoying rhymes that the new episodes have!
People that go on all out attack against people that ask what engines they used etc... in their videos. This is not a personal attack on anyone and even some people on the forum complain about people asking and that's not what I have a problem with. It's people who have accepted that people will ask these things but won't take it nicely. People who when they see a comment by a person asking about something and just spout angry comments back to them. This might be the first that that person has joined the Thomas community and had had the courage to ask that question. They may not realise or understand that that person doesn't want them to ask that. What I'm saying is yes it's annoying that people ask that continually and yes it can get on your nerves but at least some of these people are bound to be young or first being introduced to the community. Is it really fair that there first thoughts about the Thomas community in general is a community where people snap at you?

Do you want to know what else grinds my gears and axles?
1. People who pretend to be my friend, than ignore me. I started school about 3 weeks ago, and almost every single person that I haven't seen over the summer treats me like a nobody. I see them in the hallway, I make eye-contact with them, THEY MAKE EYE-CONTACT WITH ME, but nothing happens. I say "hi" to them, then I'm lucky to get a "hi" back! If you don't like me for whatever reason, fine, I'm not making you, but you could at least have the decency not to pretend that you do.
The above description accounts for about 95% of the people in my school. And then there's the 5% who actually acknowledge my existence and talk to me when possible.
2. Today's horrid music. This summer, there have only been two good songs released - OneRepublic's 'Good Life', and Coldplay's 'Every Teardrop is a Waterfall'. The former, while good, has been quite overplayed recently, so whenever it comes on, my dad switches the station, which is currently playing some horrid, no beat, even more ridiculously over-played song that took 5 minutes to put together by Britney or Katy Perry or whatever other sh*tty artist is big right now. THEN HE LEAVES IT PLAYING, AND THAT HORRID TUNE IS STUCK IN MY HEAD FOR THE REST OF THE DAY.
And the fact that ALL pop music today is either about partying or some cheaply done 'I want you, I need you, You're pretty' relationship song. The first one has been done to death, and the second one, (while the aforementioned variant cannot be good in anyway), love songs in general can be decent if they had thought put into them, like OneRepublic's songs. But alas...
And that is what has been grinding my gears lately.

Do you know what also grinds my gears? People who complain about limb-swapping being an over used gimmick in Super Sentai toy lines. No, no it's not shut up. It's only been used as a main gimmick 4 times: Gaoranger, Abaranger, Boukenger and Go-onger. Same with 'cellphone' changers. Only mainly used in: Gaoranger, Dekaranger, Magiranger, Boukenger, Go-onger, Shinkenger and Gokaiger.
People who call people f*gs to insult them. Um, homophobic much?
People who think Go-onger is stupid because it's a comedic sentai. No, it's not it was awesome, bloody live with it. Carranger was comedic but no-one thinks it was stupid.
My schools bloody maths department. They decided to make a new class, fair enough. But who do they decide to put in it? The person who sits next to me/My best friend/The ONLY person I work well with in maths. And then they put me on a table with an annoying nerd, someone who thinks my best friend had cancer when he had tonsillitis and the most annoying person I've ever met. UGH
And finally, people who say 'Sorry if I mess up the pronunciations, I don't speak Japanese'. No, it's called 'Not bloody trying' I can pronounce Japanese words without fail and I'm not Japanese.
And that's what grinds my gears.

What really grinds my gears:
1. Seeing a childhood treasure of mine warped beyond recognition!
2. Seeing someone (either on TV or elsewhere) jeer at a girl and say she can't do something BECAUSE SHE'S A GIRL!
3. Younger children screaming seemingly for the h*ll of it!
4. SNOBBERY!
5. My school bus (see 2)!
6. Cheaply carried-out, poorly thought-out sequels (mainly Disney)! For goodness sake, can't they leave something where it is if it's done to the best of its ability? Just how desperate IS Hollywood getting?!

You know what really grinds my gears?
Pictures on the Thomas & Friends Wikia.
I don't mean all of them, no. I love seeing rare pictures. I mean just go look up something like "Hero of the Rails." See cool things like a screenshot/picture of a deleted scene, promo pics related to the episode/special, DVD covers, etc. But it's littered with pointless screenshots of the episode/special all throughout the page. You're potentially spoiling the episode/special for those who haven't seen it yet (especially with the synopsis above). Before you know it, you can make the entire episode/special a slide show.
Same can be applied to pages for each Railway Series entry. Please, stop posting all the illustrations of each book.

Yeah, I don't think it's a superb idea to post every single railway series illustration. I also remember on the Thomas wikia where I think Victor (or Maybe Kevin) had a selection of screenshots on his page, but they consisted of screen-grabs of every single scene he's appeared in!
But do you know what else really grinds my gears?
On the Thomas answers wiki, where sometimes pages will be made a candidate for deletion for no apparent reason. It doesn't happen so much now, but I remember a little while ago, someone had proposed a deletion of the question asking why Donald and Douglas didn't get painted blue in the TV Series. might sound like a pathetic question, but it's a legitimate one, so I see no reason as to why it had to be deleted. The grammar may have been bad, but that's what the 'rephrase' button is for.
Also, I don't like when people make videos on their Thomas [insert merchandise line here] collection and put no effort into it. For example, you get people like TrainzXtreme who make good and well thought out reviews, often concerning an interesting and rather rare piece of kit. But then you get the bad ones, who film a video with their mobile, and simply line up all their wooden railway engines or whatever, and gradually ease the shaking camera along, so we get to see all the engines, and simply saying "Hey guys, here's my collection of wooden railway engines... This is Thomas, this is Edward, this is Henry....". 4 year olds do that kind of stuff, but these people are like 20 and still choose to do it. Surely making the video a bit more interesting would help.
I also really hate it when people act the goat and then say it's OK because they're autistic. If they know what they're doing is wrong, then they should not do it. I remember when someone on YouTube went about stealing people's other videos and work without crediting the original owners, but when he was told it was wrong, his sister or something said that he was autistic and "can't tell right from wrong", and therefore it was OK. If he's told that it's wrong, shouldn't that be enough to tell him that it's wrong to steal stuff?
What's worse, someone else who had an equally bad attitude and no respect for others got at him for stealing one of his ideas. When this person was told this bloke had autism, he said "Oh right, that's OK then, I'm autistic too." No! If you know it's wrong and you're autistic, you should be telling him that autism is not an excuse! AAARRRGHHHHH$£*()U$"HRIUFR
And that's what REALLY grinds my gears.

So basically, the Youtube Thomas community uses autism as an excuse to do totally unacceptable things. Absolutely ridiculous. On the topic of Youtube, I hate seeing one of my favorite childhood memories torn apart, either by HiT or otherwise. I've seen some very disappointing fan episodes recently which warp the entire concept of Thomas beyond recognition. These include dirty jokes, excessive swearing, and God knows what else. Disturbing. On another note: I have a science class with the person I hate most this semester. Next semester, I have math (ironically, my least favorite subject) with him aswell. Heaven forbid the wait for summer vacation be any longer!

On another note: I have a science class with the person I hate most this semester. Next semester, I have math (ironically, my least favorite subject) with him aswell. Heaven forbid the wait for summer vacation be any longer! I don't mind some things Thomas- related with dirty jokes and the like, such as Thomas the Chav Engine and some of the YouTube Poops by the people who know how to make a good video. What I don't like are those stupid pairings made by berks like ThomasMatchMaker, as well as some of the Thomas stuff that tries to be funny but fails. Such as those fan fiction stories by allosaurus or whatever his name might be. Another thing that really grinds my gears are SA2 defenders. I have no problem if Sonic Adventure 2 is someone's favourite game, but it's the twerps who try to defend it and prove that it is completely flawless and almost like God's gift to the world. For example, at the start of SA2, the master emerald is seen, but in comparison to its size in SA1 it is tiny. Nearer the end of the game, it goes even smaller, before returning to the size it was at the start of the game. This is because Sonic Team messed up, but there are people saying that Knuckles has powers to change the emerald to any size he wants as he's the guardian of the emeralds or some cow pat like that. They also say that SA2 "Got what made SA1 great, and improved it". No. They got SA1, removed a chunk of classic influence, dropped a lot of the exploration factor, dropped the fishing, racing and running away stages (OK, the fishing stages shouldn't have been in SA1 to begin with), made the shooting stages slower paced and clunkier, broke the radar in the treasure hunting stages, etc. Not what I call improved. Then there's the people who say Sonic Heroes is actually SA3. I told one person that Takashi Iizuka said he didn't want to make a Sonic adventure 3 because 'it would only appeal to core gamers'. This git replied with something like this "Hey why don't people do some R-E-S-E-A-R-C-H? I red somewhere that Sonic Heroes waz ment to be SA3 but dey changed it to Sonic Heroes or something all I know is Sonic Heroes was ment to be SA3 so deal with it". So it's true because you read it on one website? bet it was Wikipedia as well. Then I told someone else who said Sonic Heroes was SA3, that it was not Sonic Heroes, but Sonic Unleashed, that was meant to be SA3. He replied with "What came after Sonic adventure 2? Sonic Heroes, so technically speaking, it's SA3. Plus there's this rumour going about that it was going to be called SA3 at one point." Going by that logic, Need for speed Most wanted is Need for speed underground 3, and Need for Speed the Run (ugh) is shift 3. And that's what sort of Grinds my gears but not as much as other things.

You know what really grinds my gears?
Adverts, why? because they are obnoxious, repetitive and do everything they can to grab your attention in ways that only make you angry, this is mostly geared towards adverts on the Internet.
I am just on my computer, wanting to watch a video on "thatguywiththeglasses", the first thing I see is an advert, I hardly care about postal services or intel products, I want to watch the movie, and there is no way of skipping it! On top of that, I cannot pause or mute the advert whilst it's playing, as if to say "You are going to listen to us whether you like it or not", thats not fair, especially since they are played reguarly so even if I saw it once, why do I want to see it again and again?
Oh but some have a little "x" after the first 5 seconds (truth is I wanted it to be there on the 1st), but that only leads me to my next point, some are so pushy that they will show the close button, but doing so only leads you to the movie you want to watch, but the sound to the advert is still there! I closed the advert, why is it still playing?
And I know what alot of you are going to say, the intention of adverts is to make a company well-known and encourage you to buy their products or use their service, well too bad it fails to peak my interest, if anything it encourages me to stay away from them, how is that good revenue when it annoys the heck out of you?
Even the adverts themselves are stupid, there was one where I swear it was recorded with a VHS tape, the picture was blury and the sound was below par, yes I know it was intentional and meant to be "artsy", but that is a real risk because I saw that advert many times and in my head I am thinking "These people are not even TRYING anymore!".
Few, yes FEW adverts are exempt from my ranting, the Merkat Compare Market adverts for example, they are their own little world and they are fun to watch, and thats what they should be, not "in-your-face". The best by far is the collection of "Confused.com" adverts, I love Cara because she has a great singing voice and it fills me with joy.
Basically, adverts suck because all they do is take us away from our enjoyment just to shove their products in your face, you want me to buy your product? don't be needy, don't keep repeating yourself, and at least try something different, I want to watch My Little Pony darn it!
and that is what really grinds my gears =P

Please get a grip. Adverts are the only way I, and any other video producing Youtuber, get by these days. We get paid to have the ads on our videos. No ads - no videos. Way of the world, deal with it.
I might add, if it weren't for the advertising revenue on Youtube, you could kiss goodbye the idea of Hornby VS Bachmann, BRWS, Leokimvideo's channel or any of the other Youtube Partners which create such content.
