Rules are pretty simple:
- No derogatory portrayals of other members
- You are accountable for your own "character's" destiny, no-one else can make major decisions over changes in your life, but you will have to adapt to changes in those of others.
- Fictional characters are allowed, and are fair game for everyone to manipulate.
- No-one should try to dominate this as was the case with the previous Never-Ending Story on the original SiF.
Ryan was out for a brisk walk in the woods taking in the day and enjoying the peace and solitude of the surroundings around him. Nothing much had happened that week, but that was all about to change as he and a few of the other SiF'ers were about to go off onto one of their longest, daftest and strangest adventures ever...

Ryan then comes to a narrow stream that seems to lead to an opening deeper in the woods.

As Ryan continued down this stream in the woods, he noticed a sign. It was warn and weather-beaten, it read: "Northern-Ny-Ether, North." He considered that this was a village of some sort and so he continued. In the distance he noticed a church, engraved upon it were the same words, "Northern-Ny-Ether." "Why haven't I seen this before?" he asked himself. He had wandered this path before and didn't remember seeing the sign or the church then. "I wondered when you'd come," said a voice from behind. Ryan turned around with a jump. "Who are you," he snapped. This man that stood before Ryan was stout, wore a suit with a over coat, pork-pie hat and a multi-colored scarf. "You may call me Casey Jones," he replied. "I mean you no harm." This SiF adventure had only started and it was getting weirder...

Casey Jones led Ryan through the village. As they walked, they could hear the sounds of laughter and people chatting with one another.
"You look like you've come a long way," Casey Jones said to Ryan, "so we'll stop so you can rest." Casey Jones led Ryan to a restaurant. The main room had a large fireplace, and Ryan noticed there was a piano in the center of the room. Playing the piano was a bespectacled man.
"Hey, Casey Jones," said the bespectacled man, "how's things?"
"Not bad, Aidan," replied Casey Jones.
Ryan took a seat and Aidan went back to playing the piano. An idea came to him. He started playing the music of Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell.

As the glorious music rang through the town, Ryan was eager to explore the vast land beyond the village, so Casey Jones and Ryan started the expedition, but didn't realize the danger ahead...

Beyond the village in a wood, there was a young man, dressed in all black. He had come out for solitude in his practice. He had a strange looking contraption in his hands, which was three two foot sticks chained together, known as a Three-Section-Staff. As he was resting after a long chain of tricks, he noticed two figure in the distance. As they neared, he recognized one as Ryan, the Admin of SiF. He couldn't recognize the other, though. He then picked up his Three-Section-Staff and folded the sections in and stuffed it into the sheath over his back, then walked over to Ryan and the man he didn't know. "Hey Ryan. What brings you out here?" asked the Man in Black. "Well, hello Tom," Said Ryan, "I was taking a walk, I came upon the village back there, I met Casey Jones, here, and now I'm rather interested in this land past the village. And out of curiosity, what are you doing out here?" "Well, I was practicing my Three Section Staff," explained Tom, as he took it out of the sheath over his back showed it to Ryan and Casey, then put it back in its sheath. " I see." said Ryan. "Mind if I join you guys in your exploration of the woods back here? When I've been out here training the last few times, I've heard some weird stuff, and I've been wanting to check it out," said Tom. "Sure," replied Ryan. "Fine by me," said Casey. And so, the trio set off further into the woods, still unknowing of what lay within.

Several hours later, Ryan, Casey and Tom came across a small cave. "What do you reckon it is?" Tom asked. "Only one way to find out," Ryan replied, and he led the other two into the cave.
In Ballahoo, three men materialised from thin air. Casey slumped, head reeling. "Wow..." "You know..." Ryan said, "...this looks like Ballahoo, correct me if I'm wrong." "You are wrong," Tom said, "The Island of Sodor's not a real place, you know that." "Yeah, but..." Ryan turned around. The cave was gone. "Look!" Casey had recovered. Now he was running down the hill. "A plaque!" He pointed to a small sign next to a tunnel. He read it aloud: This plaque dedicated to Len Swinton and Craig McGilvray, crew of 'Henry' who stopped in this tunnel in 1923. Years of service... Casey looked up, face flushed. "This is Sodor all right!" "But how..." Tom was interrupted by a loud whistle. "OUT OF THE WAY!" All three shouted, and dived into nearby bushes. Gordon's brakes squealed, and he stopped some way down the line. The driver leapt out, and ran back towards them. "What the bloody hell are you lot playing at?" He shouted, "It's illegal to be on the railway tracks, always has been!" "Yeah, sorry..." Ryan said, before focusing on the driver. "Clay?" "Ryan???" Clay said, looking at all three of them, "Casey? Tom? Someone care to explain?"

By this point, Ryan was utterly bewildered. He'd walked through a wood, into a town, into a pub, back to the wood and now he'd come to a cave with two other members, and met someone else who he already knew... driving Gordon the Big Engine.
Ryan was getting rather irritated. He'd went from reality and descended into an alternate reality... "Care to explain this one, Clay? Where the Hell are we?"

"Wellll...it's kinda hard to explain..." said Clay. I think something happened that's more suited to a Sci-fi show, but we can't be the only members here..."
And indeed they weren't!
"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, I'm trainzfan, you're watching SiF Match of the Day and it's that time of year again! 64 teams are in the third round of the FA Cup and what a game we have in store for you today! Manchester United, still at Chelsea's heels in the Premiership title race, take on Sudrian Champions Vicarstown, who haven't lost at home all season! I've got the usual crowd of Jimbob, Davey & ringo86 as our analysts, and number1 and OJ are our commentators, as we can tell you that only one change is made to the Man Utd side which beat West Ham on new year's day. Can any of you guys see a home win here?" "The Liverpool fan in me would like to see it happen, but I can't. United to win 3-0." replied Jimbob. "United, definitely." continued Davey. "There's no contest, United to win it." added ringo86. "Well, the teams are ready to come out, we now go live to the dugout, and join our commentators! It's Vicarstown vs Manchester United!"
I hope my bit doesn't count as "monopolising".

"We're not the only membere here, you know. This IS Sodor." "Yes, all indications point to that, I am aware. And yet..." "Sodor is not a real place, according to all known documents. I suppose if you want to conform to known history you're more than welcome to. But I'm not in the mood to conform at the moment." "I see... So how do we get back to actual reality?" "You mean you don't want to stay here?" "Ideally, yes, but I do have things to do tomorrow." Ryan felt as though his mind a spectator, as his body held a conversation with someone he knew was on the other side of the world regarding the merits of staying on the Island of Sodor indefinitely. Tom and Casey just watched, jaws agape. "So," Clay said, "Actual reality." "Please." "Fine. You know that hill up there you came out on? You just need to feel around up there. It's invisible, but the cave back is still there." "Right." Ryan turned, and began climbing up the hill. Tom and Casey did not follow. "You coming, guys?" Ryan called. "Nah, we're fine here," replied Tom. "Fine," Ryan said. He began feeling around for the cave. "I know it's here somewhere..."

But the cave wasn't there, it seemed as if it had disappeared completely. The only things there were three rows of tracks and a sign saying: "WARNING! ALL TRAINS MUST STOP TO PLACE BRAKES ON TRUCKS OR COACHES!" Ryan glared at the sign an noticed underneath the notice, carved in the wood read Thy shall cometh when needed.
"Come on," sapped Gorden, "it's worse enough that James was late but this takes the cake!" "Chocolate or vanilla?" asked Casey Jones. "What are you getting at?" quizzed Clay. "Well, I missed breakfast because I slept in and almost missed church. So if there's cake, I'll take it." Tom look at Casey like he had lost his mind. "we'd might as well hop a board to the next station." he suggested. Gorden hissed with a start. "Come on! COME ON!" he fumed. Mean while at the top, Ryan could here the sound of a whistle...

The whistle grew louder and louder. In the distance, but getting closer and closer, was Thomas the Tank Engine. Normally, the little blue engine would be wearing his trademark grin, but he wasn't grinning at the moment.
"Bother these kids!" Thomas grumbled. "How can I be expected to be Really Useful with all these stupid kids getting in my way?"
Thomas stopped when he saw Ryan.
"I think I might know you from somewhere -" Thomas began before Ryan cut him off.
"I dunno," said Ryan, "I've not been here before."
"Well then," said Thomas, getting ready to do the new intro... "welcome to the Island of Sodor!"
Ryan groaned.

Ryan climbed over the fence near by and watched Thomas continue. "So long stranger!" called the little blue train. Ryan looked at his wrist watch, there was something odd about it. The hand were moving in all directions!
Gorden struggled up the hill, Clay had the regulator open and there was little to no movement of the train. All the while Tom and Casey sat in the dinning car over lunch. "Vary interesting," muttered Casey as he looked at his pocket watch. "What," asked Tom. "Sodor has no bound to time." Tom almost choked on his drink. "What?" asked he. "Look," said Casey and showed him the watch, the hands were spinning in all directions. "There is no need no need for worry," he continued. "I've dealt with things like this." He pulled out a cell phone from his jacket pocket. "Hullo," he said. "Aiden here," was the reply. "Aiden," continued Casey, "I need you to go to my room. in there is a red carpet bag, in there is a bell, ring it." "Why?" "Don't ask questions, 'cause you'll never get answerers!" Casey snapped.
Ryan started walking toward the tunnel. "What are you doing?" said a voice. Ryan jumped, it was a person he hadn't seen for a while...

Ryan slowly turned around, only to find himself face-to-face with Christopher.
"Christopher!" gasped Ryan, "how did you get here?"
"I've been here for a bit," laughed Christopher.
Meanwhile, Aidan had rung the bell in Casey Jones' room. Upon doing so, he found himself on another part of Sodor. As he walked along, he could see the ocean and the sandy beaches. He suddenly heard the sound of an engine's whistle.
"Wait a minute, that whistle sounds very familiar," Aidan said to himself. The engine turned out to be Oliver.

Then he heard it
Aidans focus upon Oliver was distracted. He could hear something. He turned, the sand had been printed into in the shape of a square and a sound. A grasping, rasping, sound of metal crunching. Then shapes started appearing. The outline of a box appeared...a rectangular box. Aidan couldn't recognise it at first. Then a blinding light made him coil away. There now on the beach was a phone box. But not any phone box...
...a red phone box. But, how?
The door to the box opened and out stood a man panting heavily, holding on every piece of the phone box. His hair long and stragged with messy pieces of facial hair. He was dressed in a Welsh rugby replica hat, jeans, a top hat, and a monicule.
"JimBob?"
"Good pudding, Aidan."
He stood out of the box and onto the beach.
"What on earth is going on here?" Aidan asked, now totally mystified.
"You don't want to know," JimBob muttered under his breath, looking in all directions at the beach, "I have to get everyone together, we're running out of time..."
"Time? What?"
"There isn't any time, but first..."
He pointed a long sleak walking stick towards the land where Oliver was now waiting at a station.
"I've arranged to meet some people. Post haist Mr.Rea."

"What was that about," asked Tom. "Turning times, turning times," was the reply. "What?" Casey looked up, "oh, the hullabaloo on the phone? I made a bell to bring any necessary members of SiF to the area of trouble. If Aiden did what I said, he and any other SiF member should land here." Casey then pulled out his phone and made a call. "Hullo, Aiden... Travis? Sorry, I'm trying to call some one... It's not that I don't want to talk-... fine I'll call you after... no, I don't feel obligated, I want to." He then tried again. "Hullo Aiden." Casey asked. "It's Jimbob," was the reply. "Don't tell me I got the wrong number," Casey cried. "No, this is Aiden's mobile," answered Jimbob. "OK, I need you to find some way to Wellsworth." "Right." "Do you have any idea what could be behind this?" "One, but we'll get to it at Wellsworth." Casey turned off his cell and then got up. "Where are you going?" asked Tom. "To Clay, there's something fishy and I think there's no chips to go along with it." replied Casey.
Ryan and Christopher walked along the track, in the distance they saw a A4 Doncaster struggling up a hill.

Tom and Casey had hopped aboard the a train and planned to get off at Wellsworth. Little did they know that their engine, Gordon, had been having slight problems throughout the day. As he approached the hill, he started slowing down, until he could hardly move. Soon, his crew had stopped even trying and simply let Gordon roll back down to the bottom of the hill, at which point all the passengers exited, and started walking up to the hill to Wellsworth. Christopher and Ryan had been watching all of this from the top of the hill. Then Ryan noticed two of the people walking up the hill were Tom and Casey. He called out to them. "Casey, Tom!" They both looked up, and noticed Ryan and Christopher, and started walking over. "Hey Ryan." Said Tom. "'Lo Ryan." said Casey. "Excuse, me but who are you two?" asked Christopher. "My name is Tom, as in Tom628, and this is Casey Jones." Said Tom, gesturing towards Casey. "Yes, yes, introductions can wait." Interrupted Ryan," Why were you two going to Wellsworth?" "There's a bit of a problem, and we have a few important members meeting at Wellsworth station." Explained Casey. "Is Clay in Gordon's crew at the moment?" asked Ryan. "No," answered Tom, "I checked. He was taking over the next branch of the journey at Wellsworth, which means he's already there." "And I believe Jimbob is too." Added Casey. "Wait, what?" said Christopher, who didn't really know what was going on. "We'll explain when we get there," said Casey, as the four started their trek down the hill and to the station.

It was a long walk, and soon the group stopped for a rest. Nearby, a lone figure stood, staring at the railway, his back against a tree. He seemed lost in thought. In one arm he clutched an open and rather unkempt sketchbook, in the other a box of pencils and pens. The group paid him no mind at first, but soon they all began to feel his presence. Finally, Ryan approached him. "Hello? What brings you here?" he began, but his voice trailed off as he noticed the sketchbook. One of the sketches seemed familiar. Then suddenly it hit him. "Shanedooiney?" he asked. Startled, Shane looked over. "Y-yes?" he stammered, then his eyes went wide in surprise. "Aren't you...?" "Yes," said Ryan, "how did you get here?" "I'm not sure. I was going through some of my old sketches, when suddenly the room began spinning and I passed out. When I woke up, I was here. Where is here, exactly?" "Sodor," smiled Ryan. "Sodor?!" exclaimed Shanedooiney, "Are you kidding?" Just then he heard a whistle, and Henry came rushing by with a passenger train. "Good day, lads!" he called, and disappeared into the distance. "Looks to be the North Western Main Line," said Ryan, still smiling. Shane wasn't listening. He was staring at the railway again. At last, "No way," he said. "No way. I don't believe it. How? I mean...how?" "I'm not exactly sure myself," said Ryan. "But we were just heading back to the station, care to join us?" Shane was momentarily puzzled. "We?" he asked, but then he noticed Casey Jones, Christopher, and the rest of the gang sitting on a rock, laughing together. A grin spread across his face. "Sure, I'd love to!" They walked back to where the others were, and Shane greeted them with enthusiasm. Then they set off towards the station again.

The stationmaster led everyone to their seats, and walked to the front of the room. "Mr Halford," he said, "could you please take the minutes of the meeting?" "Sure thing, Greg," Clay said, "Fire when ready." "Yes. Right. Now." The stationmaster faltered somewhat, "Attendance! If we could all say our names and have Clay take them down. Obviously I'm present, Greg Keenan..." Names were recited around the room. Occasionally Clay's eyebrows raised whilst he was writing, but otherwise he remained silent. "Now, I expect you all have some questions for us." Greg said. "Yeah, funny that," Ryan said, "we're from all over the globe and somehow - do not ask me how, because I do not know - we are now together on Sodor. What is going on?"

Casey rose up; "it seems," he explained, "there is an unexplained mishap in our surroundings. Jimbob, will you elaborate?" "Indeed," said a determined Jimbob and stood up, "there is a corruption in the formation of space." "That's possibly the-" began Casey. The door banged open, there stood five men in black suites ran in. "No one move!" one snapped. "We are here for a man named Ryan!" Ryan was about to stand up but Casey stopped him. "Don't your no use to us dead," he whispered. Clay stood, "I'm him," he called. "Right," said the same man in black. "Number 2 take him." Clay was cuffed and forced out in to a black van. The members waited in silence till the last agent left.
