I have 2 interviews coming up for a job opportunity. One tomorow for Macy*s and another on Tuesday for Bed Bath & Beyond. Hopefully I get one of the jobs. I went nuts this past summer because I applied to a billion places and only one wanted an interview....only to never call back and have me call them just to hear they were "fully hired". I've wanted a job so bad because everyone I know including my girlfriend (the part that really makes it an embarassment) has had a job but me. So I'm very excited for these coming interviews! Wish me luck!

I've just got a promotion at work, which is awesome. I now have a small increase in pay, my own office and a slave. Well, "assistant" technically, but in my head I'm thinking "slave".

Hahaha, that's almost exactly how my girlfriend put it when she got promoted with an office and assistant. She came home and said, "Guess what? They gave me a slave with my promotion!" I still don't even know what her job title is. Is that sad? She's my girlfriend, I should know what she does. Not to mention she works in the same building as I do.

A friends brother has been complaining nonestop about having to do work experience in the New Year; going out of school for the week and learning a job. He hasn't a clue what he wants to do, so he's been given a placement. "I don't want to work in a bank!" is all his family have heard for days. Until I pointed out that, when I was 15, I did a week with another lad from my school with a high street retailer. 3 months later, the day after my 16th birthday, I had a telephone call from the manager. If I wanted a Saturday job, I could have it! From that, I went onto a Management training scheme, jumped companies, and at 22 am co-runnnig my own store with another company. OK, not what I planned to do, not glamourous or talented, but steady, reliable and at times a real good laugh. And my friends brother has changed his tune about the bank; because banks pay more money than supermarkets!!!

i would really like a job at toys r us because i went there for my work experience, this has been the worst year of my life (apart from finding this forum with help from a banned member) im one of the oldest in my year but everyone easle is progessing ive found a bricked up tunnel on my track.
the irony is no job, no money, no car , no flat and i have just 5 years to get all that.
drat, drat and double drat i had a ring from connexions and i told the woman that i wanted to be a hospital porter, that i didnt want to join the railway anymore, didnt want to do anything ealse. but i think i was saying alot of lies, i wasnt concentrating on what she was saying. the reason is i like to talk on the phone in private and i was in a panic because my dad just wouldnt go away, now i dont know what trouble ive landed in.

I'm having a bit of a problem with my current workplace. You see, the Museum's gift shop is under new management, and while I used to be able to operate the gift shop's cash register, I've now been reduced to cleaning trash cans and dusting around the museum. Work's not as much fun as it used to be, and even my parents agree that I'm not getting any experience out of it.

My Job life: Worked for a friend's father to build a cottage, 10 bucks a hour, 10 hours every saturday and sunday. It was sucky, bad location, but the lake was awesome. Plus, lots of girls in town. Mind my saying. *smacks self* Worked for my father at his warehouse job, working at the Computer and managing the stock. Pretty simple, 15 an hour. No job now. this girl from school says I should work with food, but...no thanks.

Good news. I lost my job.
Why is it good news? Because I hated my job. Thw money was good, but there a few things I don't like about putting advertising in newspapers. The newsprint turns your hands black. there were no new people to talk to (besides my mother and grandfather), and the job has no creativity in it.
So I'm now looking for a new job. I'll let you know how it goes.

The newsprint turns your hands black. there were no new people to talk to (besides my mother and grandfather), and the job has no creativity in it. That reminds me of a job I had back in 2004 where I was delivering local newspapers for over 5 months. The pay was £15 ppw which was rather good in my terms and would double depending on the number of leaflets inside the papers but I quit for several reasons. Firstly it was time consuming putting all the leaflets in each paper thus turning my hands black like you said, I would attract unwanted attention like yobs and ignorant people who would place rubbish in my paper trolley and because of school and holiday I simply had little time at all. Now I'm looking for a job which is rather difficult at the moment; I'm thinking of getting into driving and/or gaining a qualification to make my job hunt more easier for myself.

It looks like we're going to be audited soon, so I may end up having to find work elsewhere.
Somehow, several hundred computers in our inventory went missing, so heads are going to roll.

**sneezes as he dusts the thread off**
Well, I haven't technically got a job yet, but I've "lost" my one at University as it was for students only. And seeing as I'm now finished with my course, I'm out. So I've been urged to sign up for a Job Seeker's Allowance - this is an organisation of sorts that helps you keep employed while you're unemployed. And while you are unemployed, they provide you with a certain amount of money a week to keep your bank account full until you become settled on a full time job.
Confused? I was, and a little uncertain of it too. Some friends I know have had tough times with having a JSA during the University course, such as finding themselves at dead-ends; but Mum reckons that, with my Autism, they might adjust their rules slightly so that I will be content with what I want to do rather than be placed in various jobs I don't want to be.
I don't fancy using my Asperger's as an excuse but if it'll help make things easier for me, then we'll just see how it goes. It was confusing enough trying to get my Claims Benefits correct over the telephone. I've got an interview early next week so I'll report back on how it all goes. *crosses fingers*

Funny you should mention it Christopher because I'm in a similar situation and TBH I'd be happier once I get a career because it means I won't be visiting them anymore, I'll be doing something worthwhile and being put to good use. Regarding the autism, when I first visited them I was put into an appointment with the DEA who provide extra help for people with disabilities but due to limited applications and lack of luck I was forwarded to a few more companies like RBLI but overtime all that's done is create more clutter in my pocket. I'm not trying to put you off but I don't like visiting the JCP for personal reasons, sadly I've had a few scrapes with the advisors which resulted in my mum coming to see them and in a way some of the people who work there are a tad suspicious, like my advisor who gurns in a stomach churningly way and also had a word in his ear from my mum. But all I can say is dry rails to you and hope that you don't get into any difficult scrapes with them either while on JSA.

I've got a new job coach now, and with her help, I'm going to be looking into jobs around the area. Next Friday, I'll be working part-time at Ram's Head, a local bookstore! I'm really looking forward to it!
Regarding Asperger's, it's helped me with this job because of my interest in reading. My coach was able to take the interests I had listed and searched for the perfect job for me.

I just landed an internship with Charleston Arts, and I couldn't be more stoked. I was a little unsure of myself when I was interviewed, and I almost didn't apply, but now I'm glad I did.

I can believe that - a lot of people with Asperger's are able to do very well in the fields that interest them. My flatmate's boss has the condition, and he's one of the top psychiatrists in the country. Also a big train fan, so he's alright with me.

As of recent times, I am now no longer working where I was. After 2 years in the most deadend of deadend jobs, I couldn't handle working there any longer. My ambition is to get into the entertainment biz (music and/or scriptwriting), but what I need is a stable source of weekly income at the moment so I can get by, before I turn my attention to extending my studies further or whatever I end up doing.

I've some big news...
Tomorrow, I've been scheduled for a job interview at a local Wal-Mart! I received a call from one of the local Wal-Marts and they said they looked at my application! I hope I do well on the interview.
