I had a job in September. I did tours in a lighthouse on Saturdays. Technically, it was voluteer work, but people were really generous with their tips so....yeah.

I have worked at a garden centre after leaving college for a gap year and spent three years there! I gained my HGV licence there too so I can now drive Articulated lorries, which is fantastic but it does give you an idea of just how bad car drivers are! I decided to take time out and then drove for an HGV firm to gain experience on artics before going back to an Engineering college. I'm now back at said garden centre part time. After a year away it hasn't changed and its been a doddle to get back into my old job. At least its money while I study.

I start a new job tomorrow! I'm intensely happy. I'll be going from terrible wages, awful location and a boss I can't stand to a plum job at Great Ormond Street Hospital, working as a PA to one of the senior staff. Apparently people who speak Latin are quite rare these days, so we're in demand in medical support roles.

I just got a job last month working as a stockman at Wal-Mart. It's truly amazing that I'm getting payed about $6.00 per hour to push a bunch of carts around a parking lot! Of course, all the cold weather we've been having here lately makes the job a little harder, but the rest is a snap! I'm working 5 hours every week day, and 7 1/2 hours on weekends. To add to that, I get an extra dollar per hour for every Sunday that I work. Of course, I still get 3 days off each week. You can do the math yourself if you want! In short, I've already picked up my first two paychecks, which I get every two weeks, and just like that, I was about $400 richer! I put that towards a new Region Free DVD Player so that I can now start collecting the 'Classic Collection' DVDs I've heard you guys rave about. I can't wait 'till it gets here!
Long story short, if you would like this kind of money, why not apply for a stockman position at your local Wal-Mart? Trust me, you'll be glad you did!

Well, I'm still jobless, but that's fine because I can't do college and a job at the same time. Mom thinks I can, but really I can't. When I transfer into one of western Virginia's colleges, I'll do an internship XD

Not quite on topic, but I've found myself that a lot of Universities have in-term jobs, so I might get myself one of them when I go to Uni, depending on my timetable(s).
That reminds me, didn't Ryan or someone here once work for a Student Union or something?

Been self-employed since I left art college in 2001. worked at Manchester Airport for 6 months, then Condor Ferries, in 2002 followed by a short placement at P&O Ferries in Hull. Since I don't get a regular income from this type of work - I can go for say 6 months without getting any commissions, I have a regular part time job as a school welfare assistant to get extra money. My forthcoming project for Felixstowe/Harwich is certain to take up a lot of my time, but will be worth it for the money.

Here's an update on my life, job-wise.
To be honest, I hate my current job (paperboy). My mum does the the folding, and it's tough on her, it's tiring work, and there's no creativity and very little human contact.
A few days ago, I was visiting the pet shop at Erina Fair (my local shopping centre/mall) and found that they were looking for someome to do part-time work. I told them that I was interested.
I'm going to Erina Fair tomorrow, so I'll be writing a one page resume and handing it in. I hope I get the job. It'll involve a lot of human interaction and the handling of cute furry animals.
BTW, my past jobs have been:
Programe seller for the Laycock Street Theatre production of Bugsy Malone (I think the readers of The Jacob Diary might know why this theatre's so special to me). Typist for C.A.P.S (Chid Abuse Prevention Service). Newsletter asembler for Henry Kendall Cottage (a historical site/museum).

I've got a job distributing local newspapers around part of Williamstown (my suburb). It's enjoyable, though bit of a drag, considering how I have to handle about 250 papers with just a messenger bag, a scooter and a trolley.

I've been trying to get some of my cartoons developed into animated series since 1998...with no success! Maybe I'd have better luck trying outside the UK.

Hate to be a pessimist, spitefulbrakevan, but this sounds sort of like danparker's infamous plans from a while ago. He expected to get a TV series made for him...but from what I can tell, you've got at least a bit more common sense than he did! Still, there are several things you should realize-- a network or animation company is not going to be very interested in the works of a 15-year-old. It's frustrating, but true. Wait a few more years before expecting to successfully pitch a cartoon series. Also, how much (if any) animation experience do you have? You should get lots of practice, either making animated shorts yourself, or even just reading some books about it. You'll learn alot, and might find that you don't actually want to invest the time, money and energy needed for an animated series.

I'm doing the 13 weeks in a charity shop again........ well, technically.
I'm there Monday, Tuesday and Friday afternoons, Wednesday mornings, and all day Thursday.
Monday mornings and Wednesday afternoons I work at the Bath Postal Museum ( where I am now, as you can see, hard at work on SiF)
Tuesday and Friday mornings, I do job search for 3 hours........ which is very boring.

I've been working at my latest placement, in St Thomas's Hospital. We're literally opposite the Houses of Parliament, which makes it very easy to tell when lunchtime is. And unlike my last placement, there is next to no chance of my walking into a room full of dead children by mistake. That was, without a doubt, the worst day at work I have ever had.
