Just recently I went to Dreamworld, and I met Waggs the Dog. Now I know it's just a guy in a costume, but I couldn't resist asking him a rather 'personal' question: Q. Is it tru that you were castrated (sp?) to avoid any awkward confrontations with Jeff's leg? A. (From the lady with Wags) No, it's not true. Waggs is a good doggy. Nothing suss. I LOL'd with her response..reminds me of the response I got from asking Batman (at Movie World) if he had problems peeing all over himself whilst hanging upside down. ;D Finally, I don't know if I mentioned before, but a while ago I went to White Water World and met Dorothy the dinosaur. I asked her if she and Barney were married, or was it just a fling... ironically, no response. However, she did refuse to shake my hand afterward.

Anyone listen to Gardener's Question Time on BBC Radio 4? Had Eric Robson, chairman of the panellists, on the train I was guarding on New Year's Day. www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/gqt/panel/panel_robson.shtmlHe is also famous for voice overs on BBC 1 during state occasions such as Remebrance Sunday and the Trooping of the Colour. He lives near to the R&ER and has a sheep farm. He accompanied Alfred Wainwright (the greatest fellwalker of them all) on a TV series shortly before Wainwright's death, and in the recent Wainwright Walks TV series on BBC 4 with Julia Bradbury. He also makes regular appearences on ITV Border local history programmes. He is also co-author of "Great Railway Journeys of the World", which Michael Palin was also involved in. Past Ratty passengers have included Tony Blair and Fred Dibnah! The latter of which had friends and family from the Isle of Man railways visiting us on the same day as Eric Robson!

A few months ago, I was able to meet Rush Loving, Jr., the author of the book The Men Who Loved Trains. He had come to the Virginia Museum of Transportation for a book signing and the museum's executive director introduced him to all the people and volunteers working at the museum.

I met James Earl Jones at an airport in Atlanta once. Got his autograph too. He signed his name and wrote "The force is strong in this one" beneath it.
Also, back in high school I chatted with Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park after one of their concerts. Nice guy.

here is something i forgot for a long time until a few years back when my parents jogged my memory around 10 years ago i was present at a concert called Bugs Bunny On Boardway where a whole Orcastra played to Looney Tunes Cartoons (which at the time were still airing on Cartoon Network) and sitting right next to me was Chuck Jones. Now at first i didn't believe it but when he was called up to the stage my jaw dropped. After he came back to his seat i shook his hand and was so overjoyed with the thought of telling everyone at school that i met (who i believed was at the time) the creator of Bugs Bunny.

I totally forgot about this. I live in Stephen Colbert's hometown, and when he was doing his little presidential...thing, he spoke at my college. I got to speak to him before he went on. Nice guy.

Well, I use to listen to my favorite rock singer Micheal McDermott, he's from Chicago, Illinois (which is I was born there). Really I first met him back at the stage when I was at his outdoor concert in Chicago. But really he's still a good singer today & he's pretty younger than my mom. You know? In the age of 30s.

When I worked at a motorway service area in Cumbria I met or rather served a number of famous (or semi-famous) people over the years including (most of these people will only be known in the UK)-
Angus Deayton The actress who plays Gina Gold in The Bill Ronan Keating Bill Roache (from Corrie) Belinda Carlisle The actress who plays Lisa Dingle in Emmerdale Bridget Forsyth (Thelma in the 70s sitcom The Likely Lads) The Scottish Actor Peter Capipaldi and quite a few others who I recoginsed but couldnt put names too
I regret not working the night Tina Turner called or the day Joanna Lumley was there
I once sat on a train with 2 Labour MPs and a Labour peer (one MP was Tony Cunningham MP for Copeland in Cumbria)
I once saw Dale Winton in a nightclub but dont like to talk about it (luckily i dont think Im his type)
I walked past Alec Salmond (First Minister of Scotland) once in Edinburgh
My grandparents went to 2 garden parties at Buckingham Palace in the 1960s while my grandfather was chairman of Alston with Garrigill Rural District Council.
My grandmother also attended various functions at the late Lord Whitelaw (Deputy PM to Maggie Thatcher)'s house near Penrith
Regular customers of the company that my father and myself now work for (though I have never met them but he has seen or served them) are Gregor Fisher (Rab C Nesbit), Clarrissa Dickson-Wright (2 Fat Ladies) and one of the judges on Great British Menu.
My mother has met Graham Prowse (Darth Vader)
Both my father and brother have been to Sportsmans/Stag Dinners over thge years and met the guest speakers there usually being famous or semi-famous sportspeople

Back in 2003, I was lucky enough to meet the author Bill Brittain, who penned many classic children's books, including All the Money in the World, Devil's Donkey and The Fantastic Freshman. He happens to be a friend of my grandparents', and he even signed a copy of The Fantastic Freshman for me.

I once sat on a train with 2 Labour MPs and a Labour peer (one MP was Tony Cunningham MP for Copeland in Cumbria) My mother has met Graham Prowse (Darth Vader) Tony Cunningham, MP for Allerdale (next to us in Copeland), or Jack Cunningham, formerly MP for Copeland? (No relation!) My Mum used to work for the latter. He's now Lord Cunningham of Felling. Has David Prowse changed his name, or has the dark side of the force clouded my memory?

I once met Douglas Hurd, now Baron Hurd of Westwell, at a fundraising event for York Minster (he was giving a talk about Foreign Policy). For those who've never heard of him, he was the Home Secretary under Margaret Thatcher from 1985 to 1989, and from 1989 to 1995 he was Foreign Secretary. On a slightly interesting note, his constituency is now represented by none other than "Call me Dave" Cameron. He was quite a nice person, if somewhat aloof. Once went to see Sir Patrick Moore as well. At the time we were studying space at school (this was ages ago now I come to think of it), and when I saw that Sir Patrick was giving a talk about Mars at a nearby theatre I decided I might as well go. Quite interesting, as I recall, even if my dad did tag along (at my expense, the bloody cheapskate!) and kept on making stupid jokes about xylophones.
