Irene's almost upon us, in my neck of the woods. We're going to see a lot of rain, knocked over trees, and most probably a power outage (which hasn't happened in years, and when I did have to deal with them, they terrified). Hopefully, I'll be able to respond tomorrow to say that everything turned out well. But... we'll just have to wait and see.

She'll be where I am by early Sunday morning (Eastern standard time). While it'll be less powerful I'm sure, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried about the numerous trees near me falling.

The storm passed, but it left us with some very high winds. I was able to spot a tree falling over just in time. Thankfully, we have all our utiities up and running. Hope things are good with you, Assassin.

Well, Tropical Storm Lee's the next storm coming through, and it's currently making its way through Virginia. We're supposed to have rain tonight and into tomorrow, with some flood warnings as well.

While being seasonally cold for the past weekend, this weekend was unseasonably hot. Not really warm, more hot. Ugh, this climate change is driving me crazy! Though it was rather pleasant.

I've been doing some research lately on tornadoes.
I find them quite a sight, but I respect them and keep my distance. Only have seen two in my life, from far away.
With all these terrifying events here in the US lately, I have been preparing myself for tell-tale signs of tornadic activity.
Strangely, today, I heard rumbles of thunder and saw some lightning. I went out of my office and looked to the north west. There was a huge cloud and I could definitely tell there was rotation. Even though it wasn't a tornado, still spooky to see ominous clouds turning quite swiftly.
Often I find myself wanting to pursue weather and tornado chasing. Call me crazy, but I want to do it to help people really.

I'm glad there's no tornadoes in my country.
Can anyone believe, that in cold Norway, it was 36 Celsius in the sun? That was much to hot. Are not used to that, really.
And this is my 100th post, so now you must call me goods engine. It's good to have a chance to stretch my wheels.

I know that in Los Angelis, they are getting the worst of the heat. Here in Alabama, the weather is muggy and hot. Sometimes I really dislike the weather here, especially if it rains in the morning and clears up about noon. It did that today. It got really stuffy outside.

I don't know about the rest of the board, but here in New York, we've had it snow 3 times within a week. The first storm brought us about 7 inches of snow, then the next one brought another 5 inches with a crust of ice on top, so we've got a foot of snow on the ground. Now, as I speak, it is snowing again! It's only going to be a couple of inches of fluff, but its covering the ice, which can be scary. My poor dog is having the worst of it though: she loves snow, but when it's deep and icy, she has a hard time to, err, do her business if you know what I mean.

It's been snowing a lot in my home state of North Carolina. In a place where if we get any snow, it will be a surprise, we have been getting a lot of snow this year. This is good for me as I get days out of school but that also mean that I have to make them up and I don't want my spring break to be affected by this.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The weather has been crazy- droughts in the West, cold in the East, snow in the south. It's colder in Atlanta, GA, today than in Sochi, Russia! Also, we had even more snow yesterday in NY. The streets are clear and its warm enough to melt today, but there are places in my yard where the snow varies from being half a foot deep to over 4 feet deep (where we shoveled other snow to). On the plus side, it's a lot of fun to run and jump into the pile. On the down side, what the heck is going on!?

I've noticed that since the heatwave we've had quite a few weeks ago here in the UK, since I finished my last full-time temporary job its been pretty grey with a few spots of rain now and then.
But aside from that, what I intended to ask as to whether anyone has a favourite(s) Weather Presenter(s)? I have two, who are GMB's (Good Morning Britain) Laura Tobin and BBC's Wendy Hurrell who also presents other topics other than the Weather such as a couple of cameos on BBC's Inside Out.

It's been hot and dry here in California as usual. Looking forward to the cooler seasons to start and the possible rain from El Nino this winter.

Lakes and resevoires are just drying left and right It'll soon change and we'll go from drought to flooding. It happens every ten years, despite what the media says. My dads been working with the water district in california for forty years and he has noticed a pattern which has been confirmed by the news lately which speaks of a strong el nino this winter.

Overall it's been a nice day, although they're now saying that there is a tornado warning north of where I live. And I hear thunder.

So do I, and I don't think that there's any fear for one to, because, as I said, the warning is north from me.
