Looks like they're going to have a amphibion rematch, too, this series. ;D That was by far the best thing I've seen on the BBC in ages ;D. Both of those challenges are my favourite Top Gear moments, ever. Next to the American one .

I have to say, the best I've seen in Top Gear was the race around London. It put me in mind of "Thomas & Bertie" and "Edward the Great".
And last week, right at the end, we were treated to what can only be described as a must for the next SiF meeting. And no, it's not motor home racing.

the earlier 'cheap car challenges' were better, at least all the tests meant something

I know - I watched a clip of Clarkson and the Peel P50 (world's smallest production car) in BBC television centre on Youtube earlier... what a classic show that one was! John Humphries stealing the car, what a legend!

Having seen the Botswana Special (my fave episode), I really got into Top Gear, and watched the preceeding and succeding episodes, thanks to Dave. Fancy giving the name "Oliver" to an Opel Kadett! The amphibious car episodes were great too.
Like the other Top Gear fans on here, I'm also looking forward to the new series . . . (Wonder who the SITRPCs are this series.)

Heard somewhere that there is supposed to be a new "character" in the series, like The Stig. That isn't to say that Stig is being replaced - he's in the trailer currently airing on BBC2, but it could make things interesting. Tell you what, I haven't seen "Top Gear Dog" for a while!

Anyone catch the new series of Top Gear? All I can is thank God the PC Patrol have stayed well clear of it! Definately refreshing to see after months of repreated episodes. To quote Clarkson:
"If this is a repeat, then you're watching Dave!"

Just seen it. Couldn't stop laughing at the whole police car fiasco. Also, the new character is Top Gear Stuntman. You'll probably guess what he does from his title.

I was watching it as well and laughed too hard watching Hammond's 'prozzer' and his stinger. I also laughed at the brief Pikachu comparison and Clarkson's poker-mon. All I can is thank God the PC Patrol have stayed well clear of it! Definately refreshing to see after months of repreated episodes. To quote Clarkson: Which one is that the law or the cotton wool crowd? I wonder if Stuntman will be fit as a fiddle in the next edition.

Brilliant show. I actually liked Clarkson's Police car it was the best looking of the three.

Interestingly, this week's episode featured an epic [although it's Top Gear, of course it's epic] race between a car and the Japanese bullet train. The car won by about 3 minutes and 12 seconds! It was an extremely good episode, imo! Nicholas

Us Yankees are apparently getting our own version of Top Gear. I'm afraid it won't be as good, though...while we easily translated "The Office," It's gonna be rough translating all the lack of P.C. that is Top Gear, and the opinions on rubbish cars, (Chrysler products, anyone?) into a sponsored, U.S. format. It's supposed to be on NBC.
Will be interested, though, if they test the SSC Ultimate Aero TT, the current world production car record holder.
That being said...a race against the Shinkansen? What'd Jeremy drive? I'm thinking GT-R, but it'd be hilarious if it was an AE86...

I can't remember what it was called unfortunately Perhaps another member could help out here, I'm not so good at knowing car's names It's also most likely download-able (that a word?) from BBC iPlayer, for those who have it. I'd recommend doing so if you did miss it. Especially if you're a rail fan, and a Top Gear fan! Nicholas
