Having watched the repeats of Bullseye on Challenge, I've recently noticed that Thomas the Tank Engine was kinda involved with the show, especially on Bully's Prize Board. A Hornby Thomas Train Set was won, but then lost in 1988. But then in 1990, the original 1986 video release of Percy and Harold and Other Stories was won as part of a bunch of videos on Bully's Prize Board, before joining Bully's Star Prize at the end of two shows during Series 10 (1990 to 1991)! P.S. I'll try and get some screen captures to show the evidence.

I normally watch Deal Or No Deal as that seems to be the only decent games show on TV at the minute.

Michael Le Vell won this series of UK Gameshow Marathon. ITV did a decent deed and revived Blockbusters for the second week. One of the questions I remember very well from that game is this.
Vernon: Andrea, What "T" is left if you take 93 from 106? Andrea: Nine. (Laughter from audience. Vernon looks at the camera, exasperated.) Vernon: What "T" is left if you take 93 from 106? Andrea: Thirteen. Vernon:(quietly) Yessss. (aloud) Not NINE which begins with the letter . . . Andrea: N! Vernon: That's right. I'm going to give you another question, and hopefully this time, the answer will begin with "T"!

They've featured 3 sets at one point (Thomas, Diesel and Percy) as one prize, but the way they showcased it had a lot less effort than the picture above..... just the 3 sets in the middle with the track around them, and the engines running around on it.

I've watched the first two episodes of Series 5 of QI this evening (one on BBC2 and the other straight after on BBC4). The first one was on engineering and there was a train set in that episode in which the engine pretty much resembled Thomas the Tank Engine in terms of design , except it was red and not blue, with no face on Still good though.

To add to that, there was a point where Stephen Fry mumbled about how he didn't have what it takes to be the Fat Controller. That was a great episode, Thomas references not-withstanding. A top-notch panel and one of the best audience shout-outs I've heard for a couple of weeks now.

I have to say, the old gameshows are the better ones. The newest ones (You say, we pay, ITV play etc) are just ways to rip people off.

I have to say, the old gameshows are the better ones. The newest ones (You say, we pay, ITV play etc) are just ways to rip people off. They are definitely. It has been confirmed that phone in scandals like ITV play will be eradicated from the channel but it won't really make any difference to the content on ITV which is generally rubbish in my view. Golden Balls and some others are essentially rip offs of other gameshows stolen by ITV. The only time I've watched GB was when my sister's boyfriend's dad appeared on it and he lost.

How utterly fortuitous for me to have found this thread! What are the odds, really? ;D At my school, there is to be a game show that shall be web-cast all across the globe! Just Another Game Show is to be the title, and yours truly shall be standing on as the host! Yes, I know, I know. It's utterly preposterous, isn't it?! And yet, it's true! I have been long known as the SiFer whose face has never been seen, and whose voice was only briefly heard. But all questions about 'What the hell I look like' shall be answered if you will tune in to your Internet web-cast to watch it. More details to arrive later.

For those nostalgics out there, I have done an animation for the Keynotes logo. www.maj.com/gallery/DanSmith/DansArt1/keynotes_logo.gifRecently, I found a British version of Jeopardy!(TVS) and 3 parts of the UK Keynotes (HTV) on Youtube, which were part of Reg Grundy's productions, like Going for gold (BBC1).

The 3 sets as one prize you're referring to was shown just before Christmas 2007 - and as a bonus, here's how it was showcased. I do agree that less effort was put into it, but I think Bullseye's producers back then, Central Television, wanted the viewers to know how many sets (as one prize) the contestant would win on Bully's prize board.

Has everyone remembered or seen Jeopardy! before? Because what I like about this game show is: That I liked their theme songs (old versions, 1984-1997)- (This is what I loved alot better because I use to remember listening to this theme ever since I was little.) The Final Jeopardy song (I loved the classic 30 second song better than the new ones!!)- And last but not least, Alex Trebek! Because he is one of my most favorite hosts on the game show! Also he's pretty funny at first, especially on all of 75 episodes of Jeopardy! with Ken Jennings in 2004. Anyways, I loved Jeopardy! And I would wish that I can win big bucks for all the answers & questions I could handle, just like Ken Jennings. Also here's the part of his 75th loss of Jeopardy! And Check out how much he'd have total of his money after he put a funny question during Final Jeopardy!

We got digital cable recently, due to the conversion to digital all over. Now my favorite channel is the Game Show Network, but it's only for watching those old 70's game shows. Let's Make A Deal is particularly good. It was part Deal or No Deal, part Price Is Right, all entertainment.

Back when I was younger I enjoyed watchin' various game shows that used to air on Nick. My favs were Double Dare, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Nick GUTS and Figure it Out. I dunno if this one counts but I used to watch Slime Time Live too. I loved watchin' the prizes, they were really popular back then and whenever I watch reruns on TV or on YT, it always makes me feel erm, nostlagic. I never did get to buy some of 'em though, since there's really no need for a Nitendo 64 or a mini-TV these days anymore.

I thought I was dreaming by the time I heard about this, but apparantly, Going For Gold is being revived, but is going to be shown on Five. It'll be fronted by John Suchet (ITN, Five News), and will have a 50 episode run. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7648052.stm

I've been watching Total Wipeout on BBC1, the UK version of Wipeout hosted by Richard Hammond and Amanda Byram. Some of it's really funny, and I think it's a great game show and is certainly entertainment for television not all this reality tv crap like: Big Brother.
Has anyone else been watching Total Wipeout? I asked a mate of mine at College if he did, but he doesn't watch much Television.

I used to watch "Catchphrase" quite a bit when I was a kid, and again when I was 14 for what I've now discovered to be the show's last series to date. But at least I was still able to catch episodes of it on Challenge so I musn't grumble.
Besides, if it wasn't for Challenge then I wouldn't have took an interest in a show that I remembered from my childhood...
