Absolutely amazing episode of Ducktales today. Can't say too much without spoiling it but not even the original went this far with emotional stuff. Well done to the production team for attempting this and it worked.
Season finale next week and it looks epic. The whole reboot series has been great and I think it's the best reboot ever. I'm looking forward to series 2 already. I'm getting the feeling Catherine Tate is going to be a scene stealer next week because new Magica from very little I've seen looks scary.

I've watched the finale twice now. The wait for Season 2 is going to be excruciating. I haven't had this much fun watching a TV series since I was five before the new DuckTales. I honestly can not find a single thing to complain about it. If you haven't seen the finale yet, all I have to say is you are going to be blown away by all of it, especially the last minute!

Don't blame you for watching it twice Indian Valley RR. It was amazing. Catherine Tate as a highlight as predicted. Don Cheadle voicing Donald was amusing. Spoiler I hope this isn't the last we've seen of Magica. Yes shes lost her powers but can she gain them back? Dijion from Ducktales the movie will be appearing in season 2 so can we expect to see Merlock? Will he and Magica join forces?
Didn't see the Lena twist coming. Very nice I must say.
My fave part of the finale was Launchpad making his own theme to Darkwing Duck which brings me to my next point. I think it's very interesting how Darkwing has been portrayed in this reboot and having launchpad as the fan is a nice touch. DW has a strong presence in the Ducktales universe. I'm calling it now we're getting a series 2 episode similar to the Batman 90's series episode the one with the Gray Ghost.
Nice to hear the classic moon theme from the videogame at the end and very nice to see Della appear too. If Jeff Tracey appears later on in this series of Thunderbirds are go then this year for me, is the year of missing parents returning.
It's been an excellent end to an excellent series. I've even enjoyed some of this series better than the original. The production team know what they're doing and I now look forward to series 2. We're going to get some great things. I just know. Keep up the good work Team Ducktales.

OJ, I couldn't have said it better myself.
Spoiler I agree. I was blown away by this episode. I went in expecting the big question to left hanging to be about Della, and while I am wondering if she will somehow establish contact with Earth in Season 2, I really want to know more about Lena. Was Lena always a shadow? If so, how did she create the illusion that she existed physically? I feel we haven't seen the last of her, since we see her in Webby's shadow.
I'm really interested to see how Magica fares without her magic, I imagine we'll get a few gags as we see her struggle with life as a "muggle", for lack of a better word (no pun intended either), but I can't rule out your Merlock hypothesis.
I have to say I had been waiting to hear the Moon Theme since "The Great Dime Chase," I didn't grow up with video games but when I first did here the Moon Theme after hearing other fans who did have the video game, discussing it, I fell under it's spell too. It may have only been a couple of bars, but it was so satisfying to hear in the show. Now we need to see Cape Suzette, but I digress...
As much as I love the original show, I have to say the reboot is superior, the plots are deeper, the characters more developed and the gags better. It's so nice to see this from the House of Mouse after so many years of programs like Lizzie McGuire and Hannah Montana coming from them. If you don't love this show, you are dead inside.

Spoiler Now you mention Cape Suzette, I wonder if we'll see Don Carnage again. I also like that there's a universe being set up but isn't being forced in. Rescue Rangers hasn't got a reference yet so hopefully one day it will.
Bubba the caveduck has been confirmed to appear in series 2 and you know what? I'm interested to see what they do with him. Although he's the most unpopular character I have faith that this team will pull it off. They've made Duckworth and Doofus into interesting characters and they've even made Mrs Beakly, Webby and the nephews alot better than the original so it's actually looking good for Bubba.

That was a heck of a season of Ducktales and what a finale. I'm surprised by how deep the story actually went and the tearjerker moments are well done. There is so much nostalgia here but nothing felt real shoehorned. Ya know, I'm not sure if the Rescue Rangers should pop up since they should be in a world with people. But the whole Darkwing Duck is TV show thing has me wondering if they are building multiverse which would be interesting given the Multiverse episode of Darkwing Duck.

Now that were three episodes into Season 2, I have a few thoughts on the season so far. Spoiler Episode 1-The Most Dangerous Game...Night! I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, and it does a good job of examining Scrooge and Louie's dynamic. In "The Great Dime Chase!" it was a more of a "Get off your arse and try some hard work for once!" scenario, like Thomas and Gordon but now Scrooge fully notices Louie's business prowess
Episode 2-The Depths of Cousin Fethry! I found the story a bit boring, but we were warned in the soft opening when Scrooge and Donald explain Fethry is good at wasting their time. Yet it was nice to get a look at a more minor of the Duck family who is almost unknown to American audiences. Just don't bring in Scrooge's brother from the Italian comics, you know since Scrooge is supposed to be the last of Clan McDuck.
Episode 3-The Ballad of Duke Baloney. What is there not to say about this episode? It has everything, it's hysterical, we finally learn why Scrooge and Glomgold dislike each other so much (even Scrooge learns this too!) and the dream sequence is an amazing piece of animation too. While I've liked every episode, this is the first episode of Season 2 that I've absolutely loved.
Another thought for consideration. I know this is a Thomas forum but I've posted more in this thread than any of the Thomas-related threads. With how Season 22 is going in that show and how the DuckTales reboot is going, I'm far more interested in DuckTales than Thomas now. I've watched every episode twice if not more, yet watched only maybe a dozen episodes of Thomas. Anyone else feeling this way?

I've seen every episode so far too. {Spoiler}Last series was Dewey's series and he got the important role of "solving the mystery" This series I hear is Louie's. The Most Dangerous Game...Night seemed to kick that all off.
I do like The Depths of Cousin Fethry! Some nice scenes. It's becoming a running joke that Launchpad has on off screen adventure. He had some adventures while Scrooge and the gang were off having theirs in the original so nice homage to that. Also will this play a part if Darkwing Duck gets his own show?
The Ballad of Duke Baloney definetly the best so far. What a great origin for Glomgold. Nice to see that he's from South Africa like his comic counterpart that is also mixed with his 80's version. Before Glomgold was a joke butt monkey villain now that's gone out the window. I reckon Glomgold is our series big bad. All this time I thought it was going to be Merlock who could still appear.
Now Magica is in the series 2 credits, I would say we'll be seeing her again which is good.
After Glomgold's amazing backstory which will get the fans talking, I can see the Darkwing Duck twist being amazing. I think it will now be much more than a Batman's Grey Ghost parody/homage. It's going to be something awesome.
Ducktales series 2 hasn't disappointed so far. (never thought it would) I'm enjoying it again. Bring on more I say.
And for the record Indian Valley RR, I enjoy both Thomas series 22 and Ducktales both but I have to say that with Ducktales we're getting good Characters in great ways with interesting roles and the future seems good with amazing twists that's been teased in store. Thomas I feel we're having to wait a bit longer. I mean we're getting Darkwing Duck and Dijion with Merlock as a possibility happening as with Thomas I've been waiting for BoCo and Mountain Engines for years. So Ducktales wins here.No disrespect Thomas

So what did everybody think "Whatever happened to Della Duck!" Spoiler I was pleased with the episode, we finally see how she's survived for 10 years on the moon. I want to see what happens now that she's in the Moon-dweller city. But lyrics for the Moon theme? That right there is possibly the most iconic moment of the season! I mentioned what I liked in the spoiler, my only complaint was the episode ended when it did. I already can't wait for the next episode.

Spoiler I thought it was good. Great use of the Moon theme. Della's lullaby was very touching. Another story arc being set up. I wonder if those two aliens will be another pair of big bads. Sadly the next Ducktales episode is in May. Spoiler First look of Dijion. Blink and you'll miss him. I have the feeling that dog type monster who Dewy says is not Duckworth could also be Dijion.

Interesting website Indian Valley RR. I've been relaying on Reddit for Ducktales all this time. Spoiler I hear Friendship Hates Magic! airs in Holland next week. Could be a big episode. I wonder if new character Violet has connections to Magica or will she turn out to be Merlock in disguise.
I wasn't expecting Gandra Dee to make an appearance in the reboot as she was a really pointless character who hardly did anything and the reboot seemed to work fine without her. A change was definitely required and I'm interested to see what they do with her.
Looks like she's going to be a baddie. Maybe she works for Mark Beaks.

Just seen the latest batch of the recent episodes and what a ride we've had. All episodes have been great and they've certainly saved the best till last. Lots of twists and amazing Easter eggs galore. {Spoiler}Rebooted Dijon was good. It shows if something that wouldn't be acceptable today doesn't mean you should axe it. You should update it. No Merlock as many would expect. Perhaps he shows up later.
I do like what they've done with Gandra Dee. Only complaint is she is someone who seems to keep switching sides. This is Goldie's thing. So maybe a love interest who is actually a good guy would be a good change. Perhaps bring Daisy for that role.
Powerline reference from Goofy movie was unexpected but very welcome. It was a great song and good to see again.
The twists have been good too. Louie seems to be betraying Scrooge and making friends with Goldie, Della has returned (nice to see her getting back to civilization) Donald is now the one in space while we now know who the shows big bad is but the biggest twist was in todays episode and after a year speculation what would happen after Darkwing Duck was revealed just to be a TV show we got the reveal and it didn't match our speculation.
The entire episode was amazing and I have to say it's the most unpredictable thing I've seen in a while.
It was all about old incarnation vs New incarnation. Throughout the episode we meet a DW fan who was the head of the fan club who gets the role of playing the character in a rebooted version of a movie. Throughout the episode I thought he was the bad guy but nope it was not him. There was a clue of who this guy's real identity was which I did't get at first. After seeing Darkwing appearance in series 1 last year what we assumed would happen didn't happen the way we thought. When we saw Jim Starling getting crazy with chainsaws I was reminded of Negaduck. I didn't think he would actually end up being Negaduck.
I did enjoy the episode. I thought the producers did a bold move doing what they did. Although I am a little sad Jim Cumming won't be Darkwing anymore but the new guy voicing Drake Mallard did a good job. This scenario reminds me of when Ken Barrie stopped vocing Postman Pat but voiced the other characters. Atleast Jim Cummings is Negaduck and he does a good job with him.
The moral of the episode is you have to let go. Jim Cumming can't voice Darkwing forever. New doesn't mean bad. I'm sure Darkwing is in good hands and I look forward to see where this goes next. A spin-off maybe.

Spoiler The past two weeks have been incredible. I was surprised by the end of "The Golden Spear" as I expected "There's no Stopping Della Duck" to be her return to Earth. Yet the episode leaves wondering what her relationship with Launchpad is going to be like. I can't see Della being happy with sharing the role of Scrooge's pilot with Launchpad. I'm sure Della is going to try to have a clash of egos with Launchpad, not that he'll be able to realize what she is up to. Or is Launchpad going to leave McDuck Enterprises and become Drake Mallard's sidekick, as "The Duck Knight Rises" suggests? If so, I want to know if Drake and Fenton are going to develop a rivalry. There is an episode of Darkwing Duck, where Fenton comes to visit Launchpad in St. Canard and Fenton and Drake take an instant dislike to each other, completely unaware that the other is Gizmoduck and Darkwing Duck. So I can see that happening as they compete for the affection of Duckburg.

Spoiler Well Drake Mallard's rivalry with Fenton has already been hinted at, at the end of the episode. Gosalyn has to show up at some point as she's an important character.
I can see Launchpad leaving McDuck enterprises and being DW's sidekick leaving Della to be Scrooge's pilot.
I can also see Mark Beaks and Negaduck being the Lex Luthor and Joker of Duckburg. That would be fun to see.
