Ok seen the clip for myself. Here's the problem already I've grown up with Alan Young's Scrooge so to me it's very iconic. Given Alan Young's age, it was going to happen one day which is the sad fact. I can tell it's different but the voice actor who is John Kassir sounds Ok to begin with. I think I just need to see his Scrooge more in action to get used to it. I'm sure I will in time. I have to confess I watched Goofy's Scooermania cartoon which was the pilot for Ducktales, featured Scrooge McDuck but it wasn't Alan Young and sounded NOTHING like him. I ended up switching it off for that reason and I did have fears I'd do the same with Young's replacement. So Kassir's Scrooge is alot better than him already.

Oh dear... I've often thought the guy they got to replace Peter Sallis as Wallace wasn't quite right, but he's a perfect soundalike by comparison to this new Scrooge. The accent was all over the place. Here's hoping he improves in time.

New Ducktales cast revealed and the new voice of Scrooge (who won't be the same guy as the one from Mickey Mouse shorts) is going to be a shocker.
I'm not sure how the new cast is going to sound. As I'm not familiar with the majority.

As I'm not familiar with the majority. Yep, the voice of Scrooge is David Tennant. Since I'm a whovian, this show has got me geared up for the episodes because it has Tennant in the show. I hope I will be a fan of the show when these episodes air in the spring.

Guys I present you this.
I have mixed thoughts about this. The nephews voices are different but I expected that as they are now voiced by different voice actors. I had hoped David Tennant's Scrooge was going to sound like Alan Young but it sounds like David Tennant. It has been hard recently getting used to Scrooge's new voice. It sounds like Donald's original voice actor is there.
It wasn't a bad trailer some jokes I had a chuckle at. The new theme sounds like an interesting mix. Story's seem decent. I would say this looks more inspired by the original Carl Barks comics but with The Ducktales TV show character featured. I mean can anyone imagine Ducktales without Launchpad?
I think I will be watching this. I hope I will be won over by this reboot in time and if not then I'll always have the Ducktales from my childhood.

I don't think David Tennant sounds that bad at Scrooge McDuck. He doesn't sound like Alan Young but his voice suits the character. It'll be interesting to see which Scrooge this one is more like. Scrooge from the comics is darker but Scrooge from the cartoon, without meaning to break the rules, may not jive well politically.
I think this also accounts for Donald's prominent role. I have a bigger problem with the man of action style animation and the voices of the Nephews and Webbie. But the jokes in the trailer were more intelligent than the average crack baby cartoon. I have some optimism about this. Launchpad looks and sounds unrecognizable but the joke at the end there was still the funniest of the trailer.

Check out artwork from the Ducktales reboot that might have been. www.insidethemagic.net/2017/04/artwork-reveals-ducktales-tv-revival-almost/The artwork looks good and it's clear the reboot will and has always been planned to look like the original Carl Barks comics. I prefer the nephews to be color coded myself and I think that's tradition now. Launchpad and Gyro look good. Also it's interesting that characters who haven't been confirmed to appear in the reboot are in the original sketches. (There's an unexpected character there) Does that mean there are plans for them to appear or is it an idea that they've eventually decided not to folow up on? After viewing the trailer alot more now, I am looking forward to the reboot. I think David Tennant will do a good job on Scrooge. Also looking forward to seeing the new Webby and the nephews distinctive personalities EDIT: Alot of Ducktales news has happened alot so deleted my original posts to keep you guys informed. Gizmoduck is in this reboot. His race has been changed. Makes things interesting. A new villain has been confirmed in the form of Mark Beaks. I think he's going to be a modern day millionaire. Another rival for Scrooge. The rest of the voice cast has been confirmed. Also check out the new opening intro. It's excellent. the theme song is great too. I'm excited for the reboot now. I say it could end up being as good as the original.

You probably know this already, but I'll share it anyway, the first episode of the new DuckTales is out. I've watched it twice now, and all I have to say is, I love it! The show is hilarious, exciting and leaves lots of questions that have me wanting more. Why did Scrooge and Donald fall out? Why is Donald so protective of Huey, Dewey and Louie? What happened to their mother? Webby is a great addition, if there are any fears that she only exists to please the PC brigade, they are completely unfounded. I would say she is my favourite character alongside Launchpad (I'm a pilot!). Disney got it absolutely right and I can not find anything negative to say about it.

I've watched it and I loved it. I can tell it's going to be as good as the original. Everyone involved from voice actors to production crew did a great job and this is how you do a reboot. The star player to me was Dewey. This guy got great development in just the first episode. So I will be rooing for this to do well. {Spoiler}The ending was a huge shock. I don't think the nephews mum has ever appeared in any disney carton ever. I'm also wondering what happened to her and could it be linked to Scrooge and Donald's fall out.
Nice to see this confirmed all Disney afternoon shows take place in the same universe as Goof Troop and Talespin (with Darkwing) were all referenced. Also a nice nod to the original as we see treasure's and items from that series episodes.

Look at which voice actor is part of the Ducktales 2017 cast.
I think this is confirmation that he will be voicing that character. I'm over the moon. Wouldn't be the same to see anyone else do the voice.

Lol... #Darkwing Duck. There can only be one much like there can only be Keith David as Goliath or Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime. Granted this particular voice actor can get you close to any voice you need.
Anyways, I'm very impressed with the Ducktales reboot. I just finished the two latest episodes. It got the heart of both the original cartoon and a 90s cartoon. Ducktales 2017 still looked Ben 10-like. It's a welcome break from the prolific crack baby TV shows I worried this would be just another one of those. Some of the characters like Beakley are different but are still enjoyable. I love Gyro. He reminded me of his attitude as Sir Gyro. He seems like a deconstruction of the character. Others like Scrooge are ever the same. Nice mix of episodic and continuity. This is a 90s action cartoon not a man-of-action show. I really like how the score sounds 90s like and fits with the classic. I've always enjoyed the Ducktales soundtrack.

I'm loving the series too. Producer Frank Angones has done an amazing job. He has shown nothing but respect to the entire franchise, Carl Barks comics, the original Ducktales cartoon and now Darkwing Duck. The show is well written too. Few story arcs introduced already and it will be interesting to see how they play out. It's going to be an interesting ride.
Word of advice Metamorphical until you've watched recent episode Beagle Birthday Massacre. Do not look up anything Ducktales related because you will be gobsmaked by the end of the episode. I was.

This show is so cool. I wonder if Funzo's (Or was is Funzone) is apparently a homage to Kids Zone which used to be a competitor to Chuckie Cheeses but was much larger. Spy huh? I wonder if Beakley works for SHUSH. Cool stuff. Seen both Birthday Massacre and Terror of the Terrafermians. That is one of my favorite episodes of the original cartoon. It says something that I haven't missed Scrooge being absent for two episodes. Launchpad is way over the top, Darkwing would have his work cut out for him if this version became his sidekick. There are times the whole show feels like a deconstruction. Magica is well an truly in the show. Nice movie homage. Lena reminds me alot of Gosalyn...
Anyone know if there is a Ducktales forum out there? So far I haven't been able to find one.

Catherine Tate is now the voice of Magica. That's another Dr Who actor in Ducktales. She actually does a good job. Tate's Magica doesn't have an Italian/Russian accent anymore but sounds evil which is more important. I'm calling it now Lena is going to turn on Magica and be loyal to the good guys. It's been hinted.
Mrs Beakly being a SHUSH spy is a sensible guess as it's mentioned on Webby's board in the first episode. See the white tux in the end credits? It automatically reminded me of Steelbeak. Foreshadowing there?
I wouldn't worry about lack of Scrooge for now as I think the next couple of episodes will feature him (and Donald) Going by the name of the title, we're about to see new baddie Mark Beaks and Gladstone Gander.
I think Beck Bennett has done a good job with Launchpad. He's got the voice right. Launchpad was always a bit crazy. Mrs Beakly is actually better in the reboot than the original. The voice actress (I forgot her name) does a good job. Making Beakly British is a great move. It suits her character. No sign of Duckworth yet although I've heard he's in this reboot although Beakly seems to have taken over his role.
When you come to think of it Darkwing could do with a reboot and it could work brilliantly and Ducktales would be a good way to start it off. Villains could now get a proper introduction (Only a few of them did. Negaduck and Quackerjack never got one). I would guess most of DW's cast if they would appear in Darkwing would be voiced by new voice actors. Only Negaduck would be voiced by Jim Cummings. When Darkwing appears in Ducktales this would be way better than that awful crossover we got five years ago. It would be better written too.

It makes me a little wary with the all the big names involved in the show since this was one of the things that killed Tron Uprising. Disney has been willing to give big names parts in Rebels but... enough negativity. I'll be interested to hear the new Magica in action. I do like the spooky shadow thing which reminds me of Magica's Shadow War. I'm sure Lena will turn on Magica. She seems to be very self-aware and have motives beyond Magica like she has her own plans. Is there a reason she harasses criminals like the Beagle Boys? Could it have to do with her grandfather? I have a very wild theory she is going to turn out to be Gosalyn based on the character design, personality, and she has a similar attitude toward family as Gos did in Darkly Dawns the Duck being an orphan.
Good catch on the White Tux in the credits. Double O Duck fits the White Tux but it does make me think of Steelbeak. I wonder if Beakley herself could turn out to be a spy from FOWL rather. Its interesting Scrooge spends $20m on magic defense. It seems like he would have more to worry about from all these shady organizations trying to steal his capital and whatever they can weaponize that McDuck Enterprises invents. There is going to be no shortage of bad guys to between Darkwing Duck's large collection and potentially combining Talespin. Cape Suzetta and the Air Pirates have also been name-dropped. I wonder if Shere Khan is in this universe. Its almost intimidating to think SHUSH (Which has the potential to be corrupt). FOWL, Glomgold's company, and Khan Industries which was also shady could all exist together. I don't think it'll be terribly long before Darkwing gets name dropped and there is motivation for him to come to Duckburg. As for the list of villains of his. I think Taurus Bulba may show up first with some sort of connection to the Beagle Boys. FOWL is most likely is going to pop up in show early as well at this rate, either with Stealbeak for possibly even Ammonia Pine. When it comes to Negaduck, Megavolt, Quackerjack, and those guys I'm unsure.
I do really like Launchpad. Over the top, as he was, he was hilarious in the last episode. The interrogation stole the show. This show is great. Its got alot of replay value and there is alot of fun to be had with fanon watching it.

Good points Metamorphical. You know another excellent character who could appear in this reboot.? The Phantom Blot. He would fit right in. He is a huge villain in Disney comics. Since Goof Troop has been referenced, I wonder if Goofy will ever cameo or Donald will mention him. I hear Mickey Mouse is of limits as the production crew wanted to use him.
I also think a rebooted version of Merlock would be interesting. (Please get Christopher Lloyd back good actor) Would this version be linked to Magica? Lena has a similar pendant to him.
I think before Darkwing appears Gizmoduck has to be introduced. We know he's appearing, an actor has been cast and his story arc has begun. This way Gizmoduck can learn there's more superheheros out there.

I would like for The Phantom Blot to appear as well. That is one of my favorite episodes of Ducktales, that and Curse of Castle McDuck which brings me to another highlight. The music. I swear I am hearing versions of some of the old music. That one piece of music that plays several times during Curse of Castle McDuck in the tunnels. I heard that melody.
I don't see why Goof Troop could not appear since Spoonerville was mentioned. I'm all for Powerline popping up as well.
Lena's talisman looks just about indistinguishable from Merlock's other his than having a green stone and being slightly more ornate. Lena's reminds me of Mrs. Bisbee's in Secret of Nihm both in appearance, glow and powers shown so far which is weird. That's obviously not the case. It is a homage to Ducktales the Movie. We'll know for sure if Lena starts shapeshifting. We never got foresight into the full capability of Merlock's talisman other than it does shapeshifting and grants unlimited wishes from Genie. Merlock also already had it in the movie. It's not the Talisman from Home Sweet Homer. There could always be a second in the universe. Maybe we will see Merlock.
If Lena were to be Gos there is something appealing about the idea Quiverwing Quack could turn out to have superpowers while her dad does not. Although one appeal of Darkwing Duck is he is just a regular guy, more so than Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark since he doesn't even have the power of being rich. On the other hand Gizmoduck will have Scrooge backing him and a super suit. Darkwing probably already is fighting crime in universe. St. Canard is supposed to be across the bay. Fenton hasn't even been introduced yet at this stage. Since they are rivals I'm not sure it matters which one shows up first. There needs to be something that motivates Scrooge into wanting his own superhero and funding Project Blatherskite. He doesn't seem overly willing to Greenlight Gyro's inventions. Something like Scrooge getting caught out by Taurus Bulba coming after him and Darkwing Duck, Archering his way through catching Taurus with much destruction taking place.

Ducktales has been gone for ages but good news is new episodes are due soon. One is likely to be linked to the ongoing story arc. Another will feature Fenton (Or Gizmoduck). Darkwing Comic writer Arron Sparrow has hinted that Darkwing MIGHT be in that episode on his twitter. I'll be glad when Ducktales does return. I have missed it. Apart from Darkwing's debut I'm looking forward to seeing the plot arcs get developed.

Dangerous! Just saw Beware the B.u.d.d.y. System. The episode's opening killed it. I think my heart skipped a beat when the "camera" swooped into St. Canard and I saw Quackerjack on screen. Then again when the purple smoke started washing over everything. Then there was Darkwing. All the voices sounded great. At first, was disappointed to see the whole thing framed as just a TV show. I really hope they don't go a Flash the Wonderdog direction with it. But, then the episode was quick; to remind us this is 2017 Launchpad since the whole thing circles around the nuttier characters in the cast. I can't take what he says at face value and Darkwing could easily be out there doing his thing while Dewey is watching the news or there could easily be something going on like at the beginning of the Darkwing Boom! comics and D.W. will come out of retirement as a real hero.
Anyways that was a small part of the episode. I like how it homages Launchpad's race with the robot in the old show and introduces Fenton as Gyro's own underappreciated employee. It sets itself apart from the former relationship between Fenton and Launchpad. There was actually alot of character development between these two, Gyro, and Beaks who is now a Lux Luthor type villain. I still like this version of Gyro who really seems to be a deconstruction. Also, liked Fenton's anime-like transformation sequence into the Iron Man/ Inspector Gadget-like Gizmoduck. Can't wait for more of this.

Spoiler I saw it too online. I just didn't want it spoiled for me. I thought it was a good episode. Of Course Jim Cummings as Darkwing is a must but good to see Michael Bell back as Quackerjack. I wonder why Bushroot wasn't there. Although Kevin Ferguson was great as Megavolt as he nailed it I wonder why Dan Castelenta didn't return. Oh well. Still good I also liked the Shush sign in the background. Good move hacing Launchpad as the fan as that reminds me of the old series.
Metamorphical watch this clip at 5.50 of Tad Stones on a panel discussing Darkwing's role (It was from last September). I saw this before the episode (I'm glad I did) and everything Tad has said is coming true. Something good related to Darkwing is going to happen during series 2.
