Recently, a new company known as Pokemon USA took over dubbing of the episodes into English. We're approaching the 10th anniversary of the show and a 1 hour special has been announced to mark the occasion. Unfortunately, it has emerged that the new producers have decided to complete ditch all the old voice actors, and hire sound-alikes to do the special and all future episodes. www.serebii.net/dub.shtmlWell it's happened. The Pokemon fanbase is in uproar.... Click here to see a clip featuring the new voice actors for Pokemon

Well, as I said to you before Chris, I cannot blame a single Fan for hating these new Voices. My Fav Chracter annoys me the most, sounds like she had a Poke ball shoved down her throat let alone throwing one. Brock now sounds just plain silly and it doesn't suit him at all. And for some Reason, Ash's new voice reminds me of a Dog.

Brock sounds extremely dumb, I could barely hear Misty and Ash sounds like he's swallowed a dead raccoon. And here I thought Pokemon couldn't get any worse- Hang on. What's Pikachu doing there? I thought he turned evil?

Ross (Alaric) has recommend Azumanga Daoih to me, and from what I gather, it sounds pretty good. Does anyone know when and where I can watch it in the UK, or where I can buy the DVD from?

I've thought about checking that series out myself, seeing as it's readily available in the UK, but it just seems a bit... well, girly As for where to buy it, I've seen it in quite a few HMVs, but otherwise I'd recommend going to www.find-dvd.co.uk and searching for Azumanga Daoih. Should come up with a list of prices from various online retailers, showing where the cheapest place to buy the DVDs is.

Hmm. never heard of Azumanga Daioah
I used to be addicted to Yu-Gi-Oh, both show and card game, but that was in the past. As of now, A friend of mine is downloading the only decent season of Pokemon! (The indigo Leauge)
I usually download the Japanese version, and watch english dubs on air.
P.S 200th post ;D

Okay, Here is my truth. My favourite type of Progrmas is Anime. My favourite Animes are now: Pokemon Digimon Cardcaptor Sakura (Japanese Version) Tokyo Mew Mew Mermaid Melody Transformers Robots In Disguise
:-/In September 2005, I have discovered a program called Neon Genuisuises Whatever it is called. At first, I thought It was a wesome program. Now It is spoiled and rotten. It nearly turned me into a jerk. I have said the words that the adult say because I thought it was funny. Now it is just evil. Now I like Cardcaptors better than whatever that thing was called. I cannot believe these types of adult programs. Was Power Rangers like that Neon thing it's called? No, It wasn't. I made myself a show and it was great for me. Thank to these adult thing, It made me ruined my homemade works, and it nearly made me ruined The 11th season of Thomas And Friends.
Okay, This year I wanted to try and create Anime from The United Kingdom with Britt Alcroft. I have planned out 2 anime series and they'll be on this forum soon. I want to make my shows awesome for Children ages 8 and up.
I also wanted to dubbed anime series awesome for Children, Like Mermaid Melody.
Just some questions.
What english company owns the right to the second half of Tokyo Mew Mew/Mew Mew Power?

The things is, the Anime you watch doesn't really qualify as 'real' anime... Neon Genesis Evangleion you should've stuck to.

Re: Azumanga Daioh DVDs. I've bid on a 3-DVD boxset on eBay. I'm hoping I win, because it'll be cheaper than buying it from a shop or site. Also, there's a "Buy It Now" boxset for £15, so I have an alternative in case I lose.

What english company owns the right to the second half of Tokyo Mew Mew/Mew Mew Power? I think it's 4 Kids Entertainment. Now, I know this was a while back, but Dragonfox posted a link to a site which had an English translated version of the One Piece opening theme that was dubbed by 4Kids but never made it to the screen. My point is I'm wondering if 4Kids have dubbed the opening theme songs of their other shows into English and just used them for promos.

As far as I know, anime refers to any animation to come out of Japan and, to quote Wikipedia, it has "distinctive character and background aesthetics that visually set it apart from other forms of animation." With the possible exception of Transformers, I'd say all those that danparker listed qualify as real anime. Mostly anime for children, but still real anime.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is one of the greatest Anime series created. The Anime and Manga series are both equally good. A small note though. Evangelion has two movies, "Death and Rebirth". and "End of Evangelion." the first is a recap of the series, but don;t watch "End of Evangelion" before watching the entire series. It will hurt your mind, really.

I'm a bit confused-- Why would Power Rangers be similar to Neon Genesis Evangelion, and what does it have to do with the eleventh season of Thomas and Friends? Also, I don't think Britt Allcroft is planning to make any anime.

Pokemon Cardcaptor Sakura (My favorite*) Inu-Yasha Dargonball Z
*Recently saw some Japanese episodes on YouTube, and they far outweigh the dub Nelvana dished out.

I'm a bit confused-- Why would Power Rangers be similar to Neon Genesis Evangelion I think it has something to do with the fact they have to man battle suits in Evangelion, the same way in Power Rangers people morph into the Power Rangers. In some ways Evangelion influenced Digimon Season 3 in some ways, see here: digipedia.db-destiny.net/misc/trivia.htm#6

Bought a Dominion: Tank Police DVD off eBay. Interesting to say the least, but what I found the most interesting was the squad commander Charles Britain was voiced by Sean Barratt of Tugs fame. Also, Alison Dowling plays the Puma Twins, and I've seen her in some British comedies. (The twins sound vaguely British anyway.)
EDIT: Don't know if this has anything to do with Tugs but "Pinewood Studios" is mentioned in the credits and it sounds oddly familiar.

Great show. Now Tim won't stop teasing me because I like the Puma Girls... Who does Sean Barratt play in TUGS then?

Well, along with Timothy Bateson and John Baddeley, we don't know for sure. All we know is that he's in it. (Although we think Baddely voiced Top Hat -- I'd try asking around in the Tugs thread.) Hey, I only bought the DVD because of the Puma Twins. It turned out to be a good series -- anything with catgirls makes it a lot better I only watched Tokyo Mew Mew because of Ichigo
