I finished watching Black Lagoon a few days ago... Great show, but definatley not for kids... 9/10 I tried to watch Excel Saga... I was confused even before the opening credits finished. 8P 9/10 I watched FLCL last night... Let's just say those nightmares I got from watching NGE went away for good. 8/10 And finally, Tenga Toppa Gurren Lagann. Worst Gainax anime ever. 6/10

Don't know if I posted this yet, but anyone here watch Shin Chan? If you don't, it's a hilarious anime, that can get surprisingly adult and innuendoed, so the easily offended be warned. But, it's still good.

I've just recently bought myself the whole Gao Gai Gar series boxset. If you're a fan of giant robots, you need to watch this series. As much as Gundam and Evangelion are to the mecha genre, this is very much a show that needs to be seen. This is the first series after Evangelion to defy the precedent of Eva's deconstruction. Gurren Lagann is a spiritual successor to this show.
I really like Gao Gai Gar, even though the first half is your traditional Saturday morning Anime. For a show from 1997 it's kick@$$.

Watched the first episode of Digimon Xros Wars, the 6th Digimon series today. Very good stuff, a war is going on and multiple sides are involved.
As for GaoGaiGar, definitely a staple series in the Mecha Genre.

Lately I've been watching a lot of DBZ Kai. Next year I'm going to be a part of the commitee for my high school's anime club. Any ideas for some anime I could look into? It has to follow certain guidelines though
1.No serious fanservice(I.E. excessive cleavage and panty shots) 2.No Man vs. Man violence 3.Can appeal to a wide group of people

Recently I checked out another anime series called 'School Days', one of my friends recommanded this one. Well I hate to say this, but I didn't like the series one bit, it was okay but after episode 12, I couldn't watch anymore of it, mostly because... The character Sekai killed Makoto. I give this series a 5 out of 10, believe me, I felt sick after watching this series. So now I'm going to watch another anime series, it's suppose to be a funny romantic series. The series is called 'Mabaraho'. From what I have heard from some of my friends, this one is pretty good.

Just last night, I got to watch an anime movie called 'Whisper of the Heart' and all I can say is...it was pretty darn good. There were times I couldn't stop laughing and there were times when I cried. This was a great anime film to watch. I give this two thumbs up, for a great story and animation.

I'd say "Hetalia: Axis Powers", fun for everyone! Also "Ouran High School Host Club" is surprisingly universal. It's a parody of harem Animes (itself a reverse harem, with genre awareness) and lampshades much of the fake "sexual innuendo" found in Anime aimed at teenage girls. My college Anime Club loved it, boys and girls alike.

Seconded, although be aware it is VERY violent (there is also Man vs. Man violence, but it is portrayed negatively and is not intentional on the part of either groups), and that Brotherhood is still in the process of being dubbed, so if your group is the type who doesn't like reading their shows, then I'd reccommend the first series.

Love Nadesico, recently been watching a funny scifi show called Planetes. I've also watched all of Avatar (it's American, but it's still awesome).

Love Nadesico, recently been watching a funny scifi show called Planetes. I've also watched all of Avatar (it's American, but it's still awesome). Ah, Nadesico. A classic, IMO. I always thought of it as what you would get if you took Evangelion and removed all the supernatural stuff. 'sides, the main guy is basically a tougher Shinji, so it's not that much of a stretch. At least, if you think like I do. Still need to see the movie, though. The series did have one flaw IMO, that is, claiming to be a deconstruction when it was more like a lighter and softer Evangelion...which came out a year earlier. Fail. The worst thing that it did was kill the comic relief Guy (haha. ) two episodes in, an idiotic decision IMO, as it just induced the creation of a death distraction squad, like with Hughes in Full Metal Alchemist, and Kamina in Gurren Lagann. Of course, I'm not saying that trading Guy for Ryoko is an unfair trade, just that it was pointless to kill him as it did very little exept recreate Shinji (good job writers, very creative of you [/sarcasm]), and cause him to be the comic relief in Guy's place (once again, good job writers). And the ending; where do I begin... Of course, having not seen the movie, I can't fully judge the series, but of what I have seen? Overall a good, if somewhat disappointing, series. 6/10 Planetes is a comedy? Huh. TVTropes made it sound like it was a realistic type show... Avatar. Now there's something I need to make time to watch, especially since the director said it was inspired by FLCL.

Good god SAVE YOURSELF FROM THE NADESICO MOVIE. That's where it turns from a parody of Evangelion to...well, Evangelion.
Planetes isn't purely comedy, but it does play up a workplace-sitcom kind of vibe (a lot of one episode deals with an invasion of agents peddling life insurance), just with a decently-realistic sense of physics. I'm only one disc in, but I like what I see.
Do try Avatar if you got the time. Once you get past the exposition it's a really fun show.

That's where it turns from a parody of Evangelion to...well, Evangelion. ...I pray you mean Rebuild Of, or I suspect I'm going to need to rewatch FLCL again... Oh well, at least that means I'll get to see Shinji (you know who I mean), Rei (ditto), and Asuka (Ryoko) again. I miss them, and Rebuild is taking forever to make with the sequels... Ooh, I like how that sounds. ;D Definately looking into this then... Thanks for the warning about the exposition, I'm gonna give it a try.

Just finished Ouran High School Host Club today. Yes, it is a shojo anime, and yes it does get a bit, how shall I put it, feminine, every now and then? But, it is still, I found, an enjoyable watch for its characters and, of course, it's humor. So far, every anime I've gotten into, romantic or not, is a comedy. Make em' laugh!

Just finished Gundam 00 season 1... Animation was exellent, as was voice acting and music, but halfway through the series, it seemed to ask; How can we make everyone who has enjoyed this series want us dead? That's right; they pulled an Evangelion and KILLED EVERYONE THAT MATTERED OFF.
...soul rending. I never want to watch this again.
Sorry Falcon, but I'm afraid I have to be honest, I hate this show. 4/10 There is a season 2, so it's possible things could take a turn in either direction... EDIT: As it turns out... almost no one actually died. Lockon and the two bridge bunnies are still gone though, and Allelujia's still in deep trouble... I'm gonna give this show another chance. EDIT 2: Expy city, here we come... Ah well, at least we get Lockon back... EDIT 3: SO WORTH IT. Only complaints were pointless deaths in season 1. Overall series? 9/10. So watching the movie when it gets dubbed....

Time for my updates of my new Top 5 favorite animes:
1. Sailor Moon (Seasons 1, 2, and 3 only)- It was considered to be my favorite show of the 90s before Pokemon was my favorite. Celebrating 15 years after it's airing (1995-2010), I thought it would be nice to watch the episodes on YouTube once again. Does any of you we're into Sailor Moon back when Toonami aired it in the late 90s?
2. InuYasha- I liked this show, I find InuYasha and Kagome interesting when they we're together in the number of episodes. 3. Case Closed (Detective Conan)- I find this show pretty good, however it has a bunch of seasons and movies, so Adult Swim aired only 50 episodes of it back in the mid 2000s.
4. Cowboy Bebop- This is a great sci-fi anime, I loved the action and the drama in every episode. The movie of it is alright but I was glad that I got a chance to watch it on YouTube a few years ago.
5. Code Geass- It's an alright show, but I don't know how I can explain about this show but I find it pretty cool.
