This was one of the popular threads on SIF. My faves were (and still are)
DUCKTALES. Great theme wish it was still on TV. The movie wasn't bad either.
DARKWING DUCK Ducktales spin-off. This was a great show.
RACCOONS. Cyril Sneer stole the show but I'm not sure if he did when he bacme good.
SCOOBY DOO it was good before Scrappy came along. Now I don't even watch it if he's in it but Scrappy haters should watch the film.
CHUCKLEVISION, Paul and Barry never fail to make me laugh. I even meet them both in real life. Barry was a nice guy.
Other shows I liked are Bodger and Badger, Bertha, Hey Arnold and of course TUGS.

Heh, I'm also a fan of the great Ducktales, but I never saw many episodes. I always get a laugh out of Chuckle Vision when I get a wacth of it. And of course, you cannot beat Postman Pat and Jess the cat.

Ah yes, one of my most successful threads on the old forum My favourites: Postman Pat (Original and New Versions) Bertha Charlie Chalk Fireman Sam (Only the original, new one's pretty poor) Camberwick Green Trumpton Chigley The Herbs Broomstick Cottage ChuckleVision Mr. Wymi Darkwing Duck DuckTales Oh yeah, and those two show - one about talking trains and the other about a bunch of talking boats. Can't for the life of me think of their names.... ;D

I'm glad there's more Ducktales fans here. Did you know it was a comic book before it became a TV series. Launchpad was new for the TV series and he was one of the best characters. I like Postman Pat and Fireman Sam. The new Postman Pat is quite good but I hope to see less of the asian family (I keep forgetting their last name ). About the new Fireman sam series, it's certinly missing something and theat's John Alderton. It would have been good if he was doing the narrating. Dilys isn't as funny as she was in the old series. There's more fave classic shows to add to my list. They are Inspector Gadget (I was sad when Don Adams died), Flintstones Ghostbusters Dennis the Menace, Heathcliff and Mr Men (another programme which had John Alderton in).

I currently miss:
The Shoe People - nice, simple story lines. Very good characters as well.
Sharky & George - dective fish series. Used to watch it religously.
Teenage Mutant Hero/Ninja Turtles (Original) - A cartoon of the 80's. Need I say more?
I'm lucky enough to own recorded versions of these, as well as some Turtles episodes saved onto my computer, so I can relive the memories.

The original Postman Pat. I used to nearly piddle myself laughing at poor Rev. Timms bashing his head in the first episode. My mum says that part of the tape was nearly worn out! TUGS is classic, of course. The Herbs, well, it's certainly odd. I'm a very friendly lion called Parsley.

Oh Look there's another classic cartoon character that's going to have a new show that's made to appeal to kids today. Mainly due to PC by the looks of things. Look at this. news.yahoo.com/s/usatoday/20051207/en_usatoday/disneyletsgirlintowinniesworldThis is the quote that cought my eye. "We hope people will fall for this new tomboyish girl." So another Emily then? I can just see her taking the centre stage now.

I hate what Disney have done to Winnie the Pooh. When I was small, Winnie the Pooh was second only to Thomas in literary merit as far as I was concerned. But now Disney have exploited the characters, doing whatever they want to them until they bear (no pun intended) little or no resemblance to A A Milne's creations. The story of Winnie the Pooh under Disney is a sad one, and you can read it here: www.toonopedia.com/pooh.htmBut replacing Christopher Robin? The stories were written for him!

Anyone evr hear of the Wombles? I was waching it last night! I forgot how funny it can be! The Wombles was classic! I actually used to attend a school right next to Wimbledon Common. Recently I told someone that there really are Wombles, and they actually believed me! The bottle of wine inside them might have helped the deception...

I'm more familiar with the new Wombles. I remember one character was called Stepney.

How about the Peanuts specials? You know, Charlie Brown and Snoopy and the gang. I love the A Charlie Brown Christmas special. It came out 40 years ago, you know? Article in the USA Today about it. What do you guys think about these specials?

I love the Peanuts specials, and the four movies. It's funny though, I was never a big fan of the comic strip... And come to think of it, I never found the animated version terribly funny either. I suppose I just like the characters, and the music. Either way, it's great stuff. My favourite movie is the first one, "A Boy Named Charlie Brown", and my favourite special is... Argh, too many to choose from! ;D
