I did do the Battle Frontier, that's part of the playthrough in my opinion. It's a big annoyance and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with a low tolerance for annoying trainers.
Trust me, it'll make you wanna break your DS sometimes.

That's because the challenges are always set in the game's favor. It takes skill to get far, like Assassin said, you have to be competative.
Besides look at the prizes, of course you'll have to work for those things.

Speak for yourself. I myself am tired of all the OHKO moves having 100% accuracy, Quick Claw taking effect every turn, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, and Thunderbolt always inflicting their respective status condition, Double Team needing to be used once to have all your moves have 10% accuracy, and the Focus Band activating 5 times in a row.

I played the story alone and got bored. Battle Frontier on D/P didn't have enough incentive for me. Sorry chaps, the Big N fouled up there.

You don't play competative, the Battle Frontier is the hardest thing a competative battler can do, you need a strategy to even get to the Frontier Brains. Don't just take my word for it, ask Assassin, he knows how cheap it can get. Oh, and Gamefreak makes the games, but it's a common mistake.

Who says you couldn't? It's not hard being competative, you just have to know what your doing. I'd be happy to help if you needed it.

Nothin' stopping you from a mono-Steel team, I have a mono-Electric team that's won plenty of battles. The (Obvious) key is to take advantage of secondary typings.

Like Lanturn Being Electric/Water
And Rotom Electric/Ghost
A mono Poke challange is harder

Exactly. When people see that I use Electric, they usually start with a Ground type, who is crippled by Rotom's Will o Wisp, or Lanturn's Water attacks. If you want an all-Steel team, here's my recommendation: Skarmory: This is a must. With it's great typing, impressive defense, and Roost it can be absurdly hard to get rid of. Bronzong: Much as I hate this thing, there's no denying it's a great support Pokemon with Hypnosis, and can use Light Screen/Reflect. Finally, just Explode when you're done Magnezone: This thing is a monster. With that massive Sp. Attack, there's very little that will survive a Thunderbolt from him. Kind of slow though, though there are some remedies for that... Scizor: With the advent of Bullet Punch in Platinum, he's quickly become one of the toughest Pokemon around. A first strike move with 80 power, and only one weakness is nothing to scoff at. Empoleon: After an Agility, your opponent had better have something that resists it, or else the battle is all but over. Alternately, can be used defensively. Lucario/Metagross: Both hit hard, but Lucario hits faster, and can boost his attack with Swords Dance. Metagross however, has much better defense, and can boost his speed, but not attack. Just my recommendation. If you have wi-fi, hit me up for a challenge sometime!

I hadn't touched my copy of Diamond for a long time, so I erased my file and started over, to try some new things. I've barely been able to pull myself away. I've been working on my base, too, which I never really tried before. I also keep going underground to try and find some Everstones - no luck.
For a long time Gold version was my favorite game, and I was thrilled because I'd caught a shiny Mareep and evolved it. I don't know where the game went, though. I think I want to pick up one of the G/S remakes this spring.

Yeah, the remakes might be one of the best games, next to Platinum. Much better than the original half-done versions.

Haven't traded yet, but I intended to once I find the right pokemon that's at the right level.

Just took a peek at some of the new Heart Gold and Soul Silver screens, gonna be buying both. Kanto will probably be the big thing for me seeing as it's my favorite region next to Orre. Fingers crossed they kept all the Elite Four the same. Koga kicked ss as a Elite Four member.

I'm positive they'll keep it the same, it was the same with Fire Red and Leaf Green. But if the Elite Four level up, we should expect Generation III and IV Pokemon, that should be expected.

So has anyone (or planned to) pre-ordered HeartGold/SoulSilver? I've managed to pre order mine, which I'm happy about. I loved Silver when I was younger, although I still haven't got the Unown pokedex completed. As long as they haven't changed too much, i'll be happy and "catching 'em all"!

They've changed a lot actually, there are much more things to do this time around, but there aren't any drawbacks. I'll be enjoying it enourmously, you might like it too.
