I'm also slightly confused by an article I saw which said the new games are going to be 2D - weren't the last couple 3D? If it was the article I think it is, I believe PokeBeach posted it, it was a joke article about Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow which were released into the 3DS eShop. The newly announced Pokemon games, Sun and Moon, have already been confirmed to be 3D just like the last two games, and will have all new 3D drawn Pokemon instead of using ones from XY, or ORAS. There was even a teaser image for a new bird being rendered in 3D.

The new games are honestly hype. They say this game will bring all the elements of the older games together, I'm just saying, for all the hype, it better be a good story. But then again, they can't please everyone, ORAS story was too all over the place (in terms of gameplay ratio to story), and XY's story was... Interesting?

They weren't bad stories tho, I've seen worse in video games. But I hope that these new games don't become a cluster mess of stuff and the story gets little attention.

I moved away from the series after BW2, as I didn't have a 3DS and still don't. I was excited for X and Y, but RSE were my least favourite main series games, and so the appeal dropped there. There was also the lack of a side series I was interested in. I'm hoping Pokemon Go will refuel my love for the series, Pokemon Yellow was my first video game and so I've been in from almost the start. I can't speak for the 3DS games, but I thought Black and White had a rather original story, and the ones before it were good although I can't tell if it was because I liked the series or if the stories were decent

So, Pokken Tornement came out today. It's fun, but there's a certain element of Blazekin's design, that...makes you wonder when that element ever seemed like a good idea...
Last chicken in the shop jokes aside, it's a pretty good fighting game. Your assistant Nia talks a bit too much, but I like how you can customise her to talk less and change her outfit. Now if only other support characters would take heed...

I'm one of those ones who completed the dex and made a living dex in all three of my recent games. It does not take very long, I finished it in about a month, and that was taking my time. Only playing for a few hours a night. And used PokeBank to move the living dex into the other games to complete it.

So, with Youtube flooded with speculations about Sun and Moon and uploaders listing off things they want to see in the new games, it might be fun to discuss our theories and wish lists. So, here's Truro's Top 5 Things I'd Like To See in Pokemon Sun & Moon-
5- A Second Region To Explore
Since Nintendo are apparently making the new instalments like the Gold and Silver version, it's possible we may get to revisit an older region after beating the Sun & Moon Elite Four. That was one of my favourite parts about Gen 2. Travelling back to Kanto and seeing how that world has changed in the three years since Red, Blue/Green & Yellow. As for which region, if they're using the newer 3D models as in the current generation , then I suppose it could be Kalos or Hoenn, since they've already built those regions in 3D and would only need minor tweaks. But, who knows?
4- A Time Machine
With every new generation of Pokemon, there's always a chance that it could be the final installation of the series, just as Gold and Silver were originally planned to be the final Pokemon generation. Sun and Moon may, or may not be the end of the franchise, but either way, wouldn't it be great to be able to transfer your Pokemon in the newer games back to the older ones? Imagine getting an event Keldeo in Sun or Moon and being able to send it back to Black 2/White 2 to trigger that cutscene where it learns Secret Sword. The Pokemon Bank will apparently be able to transfer Pokemon from the Virtual Console releases of Red, Blue and Yellow to Sun and Moon, so with a few tweaks, they could have a system that removes all the things that weren't in the older games (New Moves, Fairy Type etc.) and get a time machine.
3- When the Anime Starts Adapting the New Games, They Get Rid of Team Rocket
I stopped watching the anime, originally, part way through the Johto saga, because it was basically the same thing over and over and over again. More recently, I decided to watch a couple of Advance Gen episodes on the Nintendo Anime Channel. They were mostly enjoyable, but as soon as you see the backs of Team Rocket's heads and their sleaze music starts playing, that's usually the point where the episode becomes predictable and repetitive. You have to admit, after seeing the same running gags for over 800 episodes, most people would get fed up. I mean, Scooby Doo is also formula, but at least they have different antagonists every episode. It's not that I hate these guys, it's just that I've had enough of them. While on the subject, they also might want to replace Ash as the protagonist, or at least develop his character a bit. It's disappointing to see him put all that work into getting into the Pokemon League, only to lose, thus wasting all of his efforts. Either let the poor guy win, or replace him with a protagonist that you're not frightened of developing. Hey, they change the protagonists in the Pokemon Adventures Manga, and it's doing pretty good.
2- An Actual Reward for Completing the Pokedex
The series tag line is Gotta Catch 'em All, but why is it so important for us to aquire all of them? What's in it for us, the players? A certificate? Bragging Rights? Lame. With over 700 creatures to poach, finishing the Pokedex can be a time consuming task, (providing that you don't cheat with a Game-shark) so you'd expect a good pay off for all the effort you put in. I usually don't bother doing it, because a pixilated, “Wow! You've Caught All The Pokemon! Good Job, Man!” isn't worth it, since I'm likely to start a new play through at a later date, to get more legendaries. I heard this one rumour about the original games, that in the Japanese version the Gamefreak Guy in Celedon City would give you a Mew if you caught the other 150 in the game. It may be just a rumour but it's actually a good idea. Which also segways into my number 1 hope for Sun and Moon...
1- Mythical Pokemon, Obtainable In-Game, Without Cheat Devices or Download Events
As I said before there's always a possibility that the new Pokemon Generation could be the last. If it is, then years down the road, Mythical Pokemon distribution events could become a thing of the past, leaving players who've only just got their hands on the games with no means of getting Pokemon like Mew or Celebi without cheating devices. The best answer to the problem? Make the Mythical Pokemon rewards for completing the regional Pokedex!
Like say, there's this Symposium where all the previous professors who gave you your starters are attending and will rank your Pokedex, for their region. Say, if you catch all the Kanto Pokemon, Professor Oak gives you Mew, you complete the Johto Pokedex, Professor Elm gives you Celebi and so on (perferably at low leves, so you can have the fun of leveling them up). Then, when you've completed all of that, it triggers an event where you can catch Arceus, or whatever new Mythical Pokemon Gen 7 will introduce. This would be a great mechanic to have in the new instalments, because it provides a system where you put in the effort to complete the Pokedex and get a nice reward for you efforts.
And those are my top five wishes for Pokemon Sun and Moon. Let's see yours!

Rowlet is incredible cute, but I don't think I'm going to break my habit of a lifetime, I'm still going for Water

Well, since pokemon from the eshop releases of G1 I am probably going to go with Rowlet, though Litten could be a strong pokemon once fully evolved.

Very excited for Pokemon Sun and Moon. Really loving all the Pokemon they've shown so far, first time I've really liked all the starters in a generation since the early days of Red, Blue and Yellow. I already decided long ago on getting Pokemon Sun, and really loving the Lion looking legendary. I've already decided on choosing Litten as my starter Pokemon, and will be resetting the game until I have myself a female and name it after my real life black cat, Serabii. (Yes, from Lion King. My brother named her.)

I'm excited as well! I Might also go with Litten, though I'm probably going with a male, like my first cat. He's old and has cataracts, poor thing.
Serabii or Serebii, Celebi's Japanese name? And the name of an AWESOME Pokemon site! Ironic, isn't it?

For the first time in ages, I'm getting back into the competitive scene.
I'm loving upgrades to older Pokes, especially Z-Conversion Porygon-Z. A +1 boost to all stats makes it insanely strong on the defensive and offensive sides, and a type change depending on the first move of your move set is nice too.
Silvally actually surprised me. 95 base in every stat, and the ability to run any type and gain a good amount of STAB is lovely. Been running a Flying one partnered with a Arcanine to absorb Ground moves.

Did anyone give Pokémon sword and shield a go? I loved it honestly. Especially Nessa, who is awesome

(blows dust off)
I never grew up playing the games as a kid. I did try playing it through emulation a few years ago in 2017, but I kinda lost interest in it. Then I gave "Go" a chance after getting a smartphone to give it some purpose aside from emergency calls and played it since. Also played some of the Switch games after getting that.

I've been a fan of pokemon since gen 5, i and many others consider this generation to be the peak of pokemon. I mean i played afterwards, but i ultimately stopped buying the games after Sword and Shield moreso due to the modern direction/setting with the newer games, i mean cmon the pokedex is an app now, how is it any special? I am a huge fan of the Mystery Dungeon Games, specifically Blue Rescue Team and Gates to Infinity, But Gates to infinity moreso. Pokemon Conquest is a heavilly underrated game, and Guardian Signs was pretty cool.
Pokeparks 1 and 2 were really taking what Mystery Dungeon was doing and making something new out of it and it was amazing! The only thing pokemon related i can never understand to this day is the TCG other than the cards go for incredibly ridiculously high prices. The Anime was good until Alola even with the Ash champion win imo he should have won in Kalos, instead of losing with a Water type to the hahah funny gen 1 charizard mos powerful ever cause gamefreak lol FIRE TYPE pokemon.
I like pokemon : )
