I admit the cameos are good. I just don't like Melissa McCarthy I don't find her funny. I was all for giving the reboot a chance before I heard she was cast.
There are many people who are against it and I can understand why. A follow up would have been better. At one point Peter Venkman was going to be a ghost according to Sigourney Weaver. Still prefer the Extreme Ghostbuster storyline as that was the best way of introducing the new team.

Apparently Dan Aykroyd's cameo has been leaked
Spoiler According to reports he will be playing a taxi driver who will be saying "I ain’t afraid of no ghosts" and one of the female ghostbusters says to him "That's a double negative that means you are afraid of ghosts"
That sounds really lame.

Sounds like as bad a cameo like when he appeared in "Casper" (1995) as Ray Stantz again look very closely & you will notice that his proton gun is broken, terrible scene, makes no sense how one Ghostbuster would take on a job like that alone without his team mates.
Anyway today, I got my Ghostbusters 2016 calendar & Ghostbusters Ultimate Visual History book, they're both awesome, I also got the Back To The Future Ultimate Visual History Book too.

I heard recently they were doing a comic book series based on real Ghostbusters. You should check that out. The artwork is excellent. There's also another comic book series IDW have done and from what I've heard that's good too. Kylie Griffin appears in that but they've altered her background slightly but it's still good. I think more of the extreme cast have appeared at some stage as well.

Thanks, I used to read the comics, but for some reason or other, am a bit behind, I read some online & liked all the little references to the films & cartoons, anyway the Ghostbusters Visual History book is well worth owning, so is the 2016 Calendar, it features images all from the 1984 original film, I think it may be a USA imported edition, I got a great Ecto 1 t shirt recently off Ebay.
I remember reading some issues of the comics with Kylie in, Eduardo Riveira appeared too, but so far Roland Jackson & Garrett Miller have not appeared in the series.
But seriously the book I mentioned is awesome, it has lots of never before seen behind the scenes photos & artwork as well as sections on the cartoons, comics, videogames & toys, I also got the Back To The Future Visual History book too, again, that is worth getting too, plus if you get them both off Amazon, you will save some money on the retail prices in WH Smiths & Waterstones.

I might check out the visual guides. Sounds good. There's also a Ninja Turtles crossover in the new Ghostbusters as well. I hope to read that one day as I'm a huge fan of both.

Cool, I have heard of the TMNT/GB crossover comic, I think that one day we should have a team up of the Ghostbusters & the Men In Black, that would be great I'm watching The Real Ghostbusters as I type this, I have the complete collection DVD boxset in Firehouse packaging, this came out in early 2009 I believe, when it first came out it cost £160 or more, but I scored one off Ebay back in October 2011 for £110 brand new, it's well worth owning, best thing is the set is Region Free, although it is an American release

My cousin who's a die hard fan of Ghostbusters (he even approves of the reboot that's how a big fan he is) has given me the whole first volume of the IDW comic series. Really enjoyed them and there's good Easter eggs to look out for. Including a "what could have been reference " which I did spot. It brought a smile on my face. The new characters were good too. Ron and the Rookie make an excellent double act. I would love to see the Get Real crossover from what I've seen so far the artwork looks great.

I wish that Extreme Ghostbusters would be released as a complete set of all 40 episodes, not just the 2 disc set of the first 13 episodes that came out here in 2009.
I went to the London Film & Comic Con in 2013 & saw a replica Ecto 1, which was cool, & when I went the following year I even got to wear a replica Proton Pack for a photo shoot, I also wore a jumpsuit & Ecto goggles at another event too, not my own at all, just someone I knew who said I could have a few photos in the suit & goggles, all of which were amazing experiences.
I also think that a Ghostbusters/Doctor Who crossover would be cool too, preferably with either the Second,Third or Fourth doctors, they were always my faves, I can't stand the modern 2005-present stuff, I've always been more interested in the classics.
Hard to say who my fave ghostbuster is, but it would be a tie up between Peter & Ray of the original team & Eduardo & Kyle from Extreme Ghostbusters.

My fave when I was younger at least was Peter as Bill Murray did a great job playing him and he got some great lines. Not just in the movies but in the cartoon as well. But I've gone off Bill Murray a bit since he has denied us all a Ghostbusters 3 but was willing to appear in the female reboot. I hear Murray's heart wasn't in the Ghostbusters videogame and he sounded bored. Don't know why he isn't keen on Ghostbusters much these days as that to me was his best role.
Now I have appreciated Egon a lot more. I think he is the heart and soul of Ghostbusters. He's a strong character and not only that he was the guy who recruited the Extreme Ghostbusters. I'm not sure the show would be the same without him

I think Egon was the better choice to recruit the Extreme Ghostbusters. Yes Ray had the enthusiasm but Egon has the knowledge and the inventive skills to do that but Ray recruiting the Extreme Ghostbusters would have defiantly worked for a potential third film.

Indeed, Ray was always a good mechanic with Ecto 1, Winston Zeddemore was too & between Ray & Egon they both designed & created the Proton Packs, Ghost Traps, Ecto Goggles, PKE Meters, Slime Blowers & the Giga Meter as seen in GB2 & of course the Containment Unit Lots of people say & I would agree that Ghostbusters The Video Game (2009) was the nearest we ever got to a Ghostbusters 3 film Another thing people say is how on the recent Blu Ray release of both films which came out last September, the GB2 deleted scenes are'nt any good I personally think that they are talking rubbish & are just being ungrateful, I mean ok, the deleted scene of Louis Tully trying to trap Slimer in the firehouse is missing all of ILM's special effects for the Proton Stream, Trap & Slimer moving around, but then again maybe those effects were never done & therefore it was only a storyboard to acting out the scene transition effect, come on folks, do'nt be so judgemental Some people just do'nt make any sense at all, when they moan about things like that, yawn

Ghostbusters comes out in July. Just like Suicide Squad and Star Trek. We've seen trailers for the latter two (two for Suicide Squad) and we've even seen teasers for Fantastic Beasts and Trolls movie but we've seen no trailers for Ghostbusters yet we've seen behind the scene pictures and posters. I wonder why is that?

Like I said I love the 2 original GB films, plus The Real Ghostbusters & Extreme Ghostbusters cartoon series, all of those put together were brilliant.
But this new film or should ridiculous remake/massacre of a great 1984-1997 franchise is a huge misfire, I am not at all sexist, but I really think that Sony should just leave the franchise alone, a new team, horrible looking jumpsuits & equally horribly looking Ecto 1 & that 100% boring & foolish idiot Paul Feig will not do anything at all amazing & positive to keep the franchise going, how did this fool even get the job?
This is worse than Joel Schumacher becoming involved in the Batman film franchise.
When it comes to July, of course I will see the new Star Trek, as I liked 1st 2 from 2009/13 & no I'm no trekkie, I am more into classic 70's Dr Who & the original Star Wars Trilogy plus The Force Awakens, but the only other major film release I shall be ready to book tickets with my credit card that month will be Steven Spielberg's live action adaption of Roald Dahl's The BFG, can't wait, but I shall not give Sony my money for the Ghostbusters remake, it looks & probably will be a cosplay gone wrong at a convention, I hope this film fails!

I'm not a trekkie either but I loved the last two Star Trek films as I love Alternate timeline stories. JJ Abrahams has done a good job introducing non Trekkies such as myself to Star Trek. Will see new Star Trek and also Suicide Squad. Looking forward to Harley Quinn's movie appearance as I've recently fallen in love with the character.
Anyway Back on Topic Funny you mention Joel Schumacher's Batman because that picture of the rebooted cast with the green background reminded me of.
When the rebooted movie arrived in July I shall be watching the original two movies and then have a marathon of Real Ghostbusters episodes

Me too, Sony will not get any money from me for this reboot & hopefully flop at the box office, I'll be doing the same as you, I have the complete Real Ghostbusters DVD boxset that Time Life released back in 2009, so I know what I'll be watching instead of Paul Feig's rubbish.

That documentary looks great. I'm glad they got lots of important crew members involved. I know Rick Moranis is choosey about roles these days (He was looking after his children after his wife passed away) but It's a shame Bill Murray wasn't involved when they got three out of the four Ghostbusters to do that documentary.
Just heard some bizzare news about the reboot
Spoiler The Big Bad is the Ghost from the Logo but it looks evil and has a bowtie. Quite a few "Shiny Shiny" in this movie. (Not just Series 13-16 Thomas that uses them) they can put as many as they like I won't be seeing it.
