OK, here's something we haven't done before - as the name suggests, you have to Name That Story, but in order to do it, you have to figure out the five clues that have been given for you to identify it... The Rules Of The Game...
1. You must give us a prominent location.
2. You must tell us of at least one event within the episode.
3. Distinguishing remarks about the characters involved.
4. A small factoid that may well give us a better idea.
5. Your own to decide.
1. Lateness and impatience cause haste, which causes a member of staff to be left behind. 2. A small part of the original story is cut from the TV Series adaptation... 3. We first learn of the "suffering" of one engine here. 4. We also meet two very relevant supporting characters for the first time in this story. 5. And, we venture on to a very special part of the Fat Controller's Railway for the very first time...

Locomotives from the far North are featured
2. We learn about another name for the Express
3. Thomas doesn't have long to talk, as he is in a hurry
4. Story features some actions to fool the Fat Controller
5. By the end of the story, the situation is far worse than it was at the beginning.

The Missing Coach?
1. This was the TV compound to two elemental stories
2. Early forms of chavs attack in this episode
3. An engine is shown to display a human reflex through it's funnel
4. Metaphorical eardrums would be bleeding
5. A fire engine can be seen although there aren't any burning buildings.

Thomas and the Guard Yeah, probably was a bit too broad with the clues before tidying them up - your example is better though, kudos Tom.

OK, let me try.
1: In this story, the starring engine is the second engine met by the latest arrival to the railway.
2: A previous incident the starring engine has had is mentioned in this story.
3: This story is the second time the starring engine has done something, but the first to be in depth.
4: An alternative title for this story is the name of the starring engine and the main plot device.
5: The story's title is mentioned in the story itself...twice.

Dirty Objects, I think. Okay, here's mine: 1. Engine falls foul of the law. 2. The Fat Controller remembers an experience. 3. New engine arrives 4. New engine mentions planned fate for a friend, which has thankfully come to nothing. 5. The whole matter is resolved. Stuart

Sounds like Thomas in Trouble OK, let's see... 1. Tidmouth Sheds does not feature in this episode. 2. The final scene is at night time 3. A deleted scene from this episode features Trevor. 4. At least one female character is involed. 5. This is a last character's appearance until 3 series later. Nicholas.

I believe it's none other than Emily's Adventure!
Right, here we go...
1. The episode starts and ends with something mysterious.
2. A new character is introduced for one episode only.
3. Only two types of music is used in this epsode (UK version that is! US version had three.)
4. Four engines have a near-miss in this episode.
5. Thomas makes a brief appearance at the beginning of the episode.
What episode am I talking about?

That wouldn't be "Rusty And The Boulder", would it?
1: This story features more than one female character.
2: The starring engine is not who one would expect.
3: This is the starring engine's first starring-episode, but NOT their first appearance.
4: A real engine makes an appearance.
5: Something breaks...several times.

Rosie and the Funfiar. Here's mine
1) We get a hollywood actor narrating for the first time 2) A new engine appears 3) Thomas learns a very important lesson 4) There will be something in this story that might remind you of a famous movie 5) We get to hear a very catchy music at the end

Ooh, I think I know this one... "The Great Discovery!"
1. This episode contradicts something TFC said in an earlier series. 2. We see Henry pulling trucks at the end. 3. This story appears to be similar to a story from the RWS 4. We see Oliver make a cameo at the beginning. 5. There is a crash involving a pier.

Took me a while to figure this one out, but I think it's The World's Strongest Engine.
Next one!
1. We see an engine take a bit of a rollercoaster ride.
2. We learn about working together.
3. The children play on one of the Sodor engines.
4. Rusty gets a role.
5. There is an unusual scene that takes place high up in the mountains.
Nicholas.

That would be 'Rheneas and the Roller Coaster'!
Ok, here's the next one:
1. It takes place in the wintertime.
2. A special place on the Island to Sodor (to me at least) is shown for the first time.
3. A certain train's name is also mentioned for the first time.
4. The central character of this story gets rebuilt.
5. Finally, This is where the series' first major accident takes place.

I'd vote for that too (took me a while though) 1. This is the first time a much loved character gets to be the main player in a storyline... 2. ...although this character isn't the title character either 3. Only three steam engines appear 4. This is the last appearance of one of the characters (excluding cameos) 5. The story ends in a manner very similar to an early episode involving Edward EdwardTheGreat was right, it's Lady Hatt's Birthday Party

Would it be "Gordon and the Gremlin", Old Square Wheels?

I'd say it was Lady Hatt's Birthday Party, but I think Aidan may have meant that Nicholas.
