You've got issues with capacity, there. I'm pretty certain you can't move the sheer amount of freight or people without going Standard gauge. And with a U.S. Loading Gauge, 200LB rail, etc.

I support this scheme wholeheartedly. Particularly if it's a high-speed monorail of the future.

Wait a minute, I've seen that Simpsons episode; this new idea might not be all it seems.
Besides that, you've not even got us to do a big musical number in support of the Monorail, so I'm still unsure.

its not just one monorail, but an entire mono-railway network!there will be five engines running on it,and Ive been talking to the national railway museum in York and they've given us permission to convert flying Scotsman to monorail gauge,so that we may use it on the railway!

Have you considered how you'll change tracks? good ol' Fashioned Points won't work.

But then you'd get really hungry every time you drove anywhere. You'd drive to work and want to buy a bag of chips. Possibly but it was first tried out by some teenagers who managed to appear on Ripley's BIRN. Unfortunately another major disadvantage is waiting for ages for the chip grease to pass through the filter paper so that the impurities are extracted from the fuel.

All roads lead to Rome, we had roads, but they had potholes a mile deep!

*looks around* OK. So after 7 years of, dedication, scrimping and certain ''business transactions'' that concern neither you or the police...*looks around suspiciously* I have actually managed to procure an engine for the SiF Mono-railway. I'm scrapping the narrow gauge plan though. too costly, and besides it's not as if you idea of running goods trains on a monorail is insane or anything...right? Anyway, here's our first acquisition in this little (and not illegal in any way) enterprise. SiFMR locomotive No:1 "Solomon" As you can plainly see, Solomon is powered by steam, has a 3 coach pulling capacity and even has the capability to carry passengers himself. He has the standard arrangement up top with a whistle and funnel on the roof, and a see through cab with doors which give his crew easy access to the platform in front of him. (his cab also contains emergency parachutes in case of a runaway or potential crash.) As you can see, the firebox and controls are at the back of the cap, so if you're up to driving him you might want to start getting used to craning your neck around. Another important thing to note is that Solomon's cylinders and sanding gear are on the inside rather than the out. His wheels, likewise, are curved inwards so as to make him fit for for single rail traction. Incidentally you may wonder where Solomon came from. Turns out the Victorians were planning on starting a monorail network of their own, but the project was sadly scrapped shortly after Solomon was tested, and the company that had built him fell through. He and his coaches were hidden in a cave in in the welsh mountains, never to be seen again...until now. He has a very prim and proper Victorian attitude and still believes that Britain is still the greatest nation on the planet. Unfortunately, he's also extremely proud and self important. When I told him he'd have to do goods work and have to fetch his own trains until we could get another engine, he refused to work for the railway entirely...at least until I threatened to leave him in the cave again. Thankfully he brightened up when he received his new chocolate brown livery with khaki stripes. (this can change depending on what people suggest.) In the meantime, I've been setting up a route that starts at The Station at the Bar and runs all the way to the newly constructed station at Forum Games. Of course extensions will happen in due time but overall a good start. Now all we need is a willing crew to help run the engine as as well as some staff to help run the stations and signal boxes. (Not to mention help me cover up a few of the ''minor'' health and safety violations. <_< >_>)

No roads in SiF, but roads to SiF? Plenty.
Google and Bing being the two biggest, of course.
Also, I volunteer to foot the bill for the monorail. Just so long as it's under $5.

Seeing as we're pretty much desperate I agree to your terms. Thank you for your investment. Anyone else interested in the monorailway? Solomon is ready to go at any time we have enough staff.

I would be interested in staffing the monorailway, provided I don't have to do things.

I'm looking for employment; how much would you pay me as a driver of the monorail? I can send you my C.V. by the end of the week. Just don't expect any past experience working on monorails, because I don't have any. I can pick it up on the job right?

Just don't expect any past experience working on monorails, because I don't have any. I can pick it up on the job right? We have a positions for the station master over at Forum Games. All you have to do is have the attitude and air of a 19th century school teacher, give out low pay every day of every year to the staff while claiming "times are hard" and keep the calla lilies and Venus fly traps watered daily, even in the event of a drought. (you may also have to do double duty as stationmaster at the Garden Bar if the usual ends up getting too drunk.) It's all mentioned in "How to run a railway as superficially as possible" by Sharon Miller, with an introduction by Sir Wyatt Fronts. With that out of the way, Andrej, you would be the perfect guard for Solomon's first train. Seeing as there's little likelihood of an accident on such a bold and daring and risky enterprise, you probably won't have to do much. Now all I need is a driver, a fireman, some signalmen and someone to work the goods yard and we can probably run the first trains.

I believe good sirs that I shall be the perfect advertising manager for this enterprising business! I've even made some potential slogans: SiFMR - Sharon Miller approved!
SiFMR - Definitely not potentially deadly!
SiFMR - More incompetent than those bloody idiots who nicked the wrong plans and built Henry I!
