(Intercom) Security officer Michael would like to say *Bzz* Proceed to the nearest weapon locker and take a weapon and ammo *Bzz*
Thank you for listening! *Bing boog* "Right thats the crew ready" stated Wittmann replacing the mic and "Bessy"
"Commodore, Lieutenant i bid you Au revoir" said Wittmann striding out of the bridge again only stopping to pick up more ammo for his rifle
Arriving in the bay Wittmann was surprised to see Takeshi Kitagawa attempting to In Wittmann's eyes (very poorly) to get into the computer system
"OI!! what the in the of name of Rommel is going here!?"
"Ah Wittmann we need these doors open now!" Takeshi Kitagawa cried
"outta my seat" came the gruff reply
"With the grey mode... give me three minutes".....
A reaper piped up "a lot can happen in three minutes...." _____________________________________________________ OOC Anyone of high status can make Intercom announcements. Just CM Wittmann does it a lot more, being in charge of security and whatnot

OOC: Anyone mind if I join in? I've had a fair bit of experience with Star Trek RPGs.
Name: Tech Commander Richard ‘Ricky’ Jones
Physical traits: British 6ft, Aryan blonde. He is typically wearing boots and a boiler suit variant uniform with pockets on breasts, arms, legs and waist. Occasionally wears a long white lab coat and gloves.
Personality: Eccentric, possibly mad. Not a socialiser, empathises with Machines more than Humans. Neutral aligned but an unconvincing pacifist. Favoured weapon: Abhors weapons but favours a Soldering Laser.

OOC: Sure, go nuts. Not literally though, that would be bad. Although it would be cool if your character did. OK, so we've got 6 players now, I'll have to collate and get a database going as to names and everything so we can have the thread neater and uncluttered by lots of OOC posts like this one.

Finally, Takeshi had made it to his ship, the reapers were now in space.
*** SSS Marked Sector 6, Location of Ionic Waves***
Takeshi: This is Lt. Kitagawa, all Reapers stay in formation, watch for enemy fighters, Jester you read me?
Jester: Pvt. Jester reporting. Takeshi: Keep an eye out, take Cougar, Merlin and Spike and take left side, I'll take the rest. Jester: Copy that...wait, we have 6 marked unkowns sir! Targeting us! Takeshi: DAMMIT! I'll call the station, keep on em Jester. Wing 6! Cover me! Lt. Knives: Yes sir.
Takeshi called in the holonet, contacting Stark. Now a whole 28 fighters were marked with 2 Cruisers as backup, it was an ambush.
*** On the bridge of the SSS, the holonet flickered on as the Reapers engaged in battle. Takeshi's face blipped on as explosions and screams were seen and heard on his comm.
"THIS IS LT TAKESHI "REAPER" KITAGAWA! WE ARE UNDER ATTACK, LOST REAPER 6, 7 and 12! Repeat! 28 Fighters! 2 Ships, we are under...
Nothing but static came as the Reapers engaged the enemy ships.

On the bridge, Hughes, Great and other crewmen were at their post. External sensors had just come back on line, and to witness the horror of the critical damage of several of the Reaper's skippers had come as a severe blow to Hughes. "The Sudriana's weapons are still offline, Sir," muttered Great. "I'm afraid there's nothing we can do." "Then they're on their own," Royston inhaled sharply while saying this, as if with great tension and fear. "Where's Stark?" snapped the Commadore suddenly. "He's a Commander. His place should be on the bridge during an attack, or out there fighting." "Internal sensors are also down. I can't tell you, Commador," declared Great. Commador Hughes grabbed the microphone. (Intercom) Commador Royston Hughes would like to say *Bzz* All officers TAKE ARMS. Back-up teams in stand-by in launch bay 2. And Commander Stark GET TO THE BLOODY BRIDGE! *Bzz* Thank you for listening! *Bing boog* The Commador looked back up from the microphone. His eyes were full of fear and anger. He was quite emotional at the loss of his officers. Lieutenant Great wondered if, for the first time he could recall, Commador Hughes was crying. But he was not. He just looked on, almost frozen, gazing into the image the holonet was displaying. The reflections of the terror were in his horrified eyes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ OOC [Sorry]: A slight suggestion would be to break down the RPG into 'episodes' every 5000 words or thereabouts [approximately a 45 minute script]. This would also help focus more development on one scenario while others are going off, and gives writers and characters more control for longer amounts of periods and to make their main character the protagonist [main character] of an episode. These segments could then be titled. [Don't know why, but I love titling things!] This could act as a PILOT, so to speak, [ currnetly at 2324 words] and the RPG could continue as a sort of series, with independant storylines or arcing plots spanning across several episodes, with of course more major events spanning throughout, such as a build-up of the 'rebellion' storyline. We could also lead up to some sort of finale or 'climax' with every 13 or so episodes. Good idea? Nicholas

Meanwhile near the docking bay CM Wittmann was frantically checking the records of the last few minutes until something jumped out at him
"the order to go into grey mode! I think its come from inside the station?!" he stopped to bite his finger in a worried fashion, snapping out of it he started giving order to the watcher computer "computer locate and isolate that transmission location"
"**Isolating**" "**Isolating** "**unable to comply**" "**Bzzzztrrrzzzz**" "**ThE CAke iS a LielIeLIE!**" "** Watcher Security SYSteM shutting DDDown**"
Wittmann snapped around and grasped his headset and started shouting into it "Commadore we got a Problem!"....

"And Commander Stark GET TO THE BLOODY BRIDGE!" Tom rolled his eyes. Halfway back to his barracks from ensuring the Reapers did what he asked of them, he heard Commodore Hughes' vehement exclamation. Taking his communit out of his sleeve, he dialled a couple of buttons. "Acton here.""Yeah, Bob, it's Stark, how you doing?" "Tom? Where the hell are you? Ston's going off...""I heard. Look, I think I know what's going on. Something to do with Doe. Anyway, get to the bridge and tell Hughes that I'm in the hold investigating." "Investigating what?""Look, the Reapers Kanigawa like to have follow him everywhere are out sweeping the perimeter of the ship looking for these vessels, Hughes is going berserk and if I'm not mistaken 'Cide would have taken out that bloody Bessy by now. This is a perfect time for me to do some snooping." "Fine then, but what am I supposed to tell him?""I don't know," Tom snapped, "Tell him I'm where the action is instead of cowering behind the crew or something. Just something that sounds plausible." Stark snapped the communit shut. Two seconds later he reopened it and hit redial. "Acton...""Tom again Bob. You want to go skipping tomorrow?" "Sure, why not.""Cool. Make it 1100 bridge time. See you then." In grey mode, Stark was able to disable the security systems quite easily, being on half power. A flaw which always amused him, he had once considered mentioning it to Hughes, but he knew the Commodore wasn't likely to trust him anyway - and how would he explain that he knew the grey mode shutdown affected security too? No, best to leave the little loophole he could jump into and out of. Made life more interesting in any event. Suddenly the communit beeped. Stark cursed as he saw who was calling. "What is it, Mick?" "Stop calling me that!""Whatever, Wittmann. That is all you called for, yeah?" NO! The security systems are down! Where the hell are you? Hughes wants you on the bridge.""I'm trying to find out why the security is down, Mick." "...I'm head of security. It's MY job. And...""Don't call me Mick. Yeah, yeah. Look, I told Acton to tell Hughes what I was doing, he's cool with it." "Who, Acton or Hughes?""Well presumably both, I haven't had the Commodore call me yet - hold that thought. Stark." "Tom! Get up here now!""That's what I was telling him, Commodore." "Yes, very well, Wittmann. Now try to find out what's happened to the security.""That's what I was -" "That's not your job, Stark. Bridge. Now."Hughes hung up abruptly. Stark stared at the communit, then, shrugging, returned to the bridge. He made one last call on the way. "Gaqnuark-klfisl...""Don't worry John, it's me." "Oh, hi Tom.""Look, your guys are freaking the Commodore out. You wouldn't mind withdrawing them, would you?" "Nah, that's cool man. You got what you wanted?""I got enough." Closing the communit, Stark opened the door to the bridge and walked in. "So, what's happening?"
Oooh, I like that idea! Sort of a series of stories etc... yeah, that could work! I think at the moment everyone's a bit disjointed as to how they're reading the RPG so it's confusing to an outsider... hell, I'm a little confused myself. Just so we're clear, this is how I see what's happening: Stark is half helping, half sabotaging the ship. Acton is his best friend and 'lackey' of sorts. Still his own man, Tom has collaborated with John Doe to test the alarms, weapons, security etc on Sudriana. Hughes and Great are at the bridge, panicking because the weapons are down among other things (not sure why??? Something to do with grey mode?). Wittmann is investigating the security shutdown, Kanigawa is out with the Reapers fighting some unexpected craft (again, not sure if these are supposed to be the ones that were originally to the starboard of SSS) and John Doe is doing his weird alienesque things whilst keeping in contact with Tom. If I'm wrong, please corect me. But yes, I think having some sort of basic 2-line plot for us to write to would be a great idea.

*** Outside Battle, 13 Reapers Lost ***
"GOD DAMN WERE ARE OUR REINFORCEMENTS!" said Takeshi into the comm. He had just lost Merlin. God damn the SSS. "All remaining Reapers! Foward Retreat!" Suddenly, a tractor beam hit Takeshi and the remaining 7 Reapers. Takeshi pulled the hackboard out, freeing ship, but the other 7 were soon aboard the enemy craft.
"No! God Dammit!"
*** 1 Hour Later ***
Takeshi was onboard the SSS now, he had blood running down his head and black soot on his face. He was met by Stark and the other crew members.
"What the F*** was that Stark?! Where were those god damn reinforcements!?"

*** 1 Hour Later ***
Wittmann, now running in contrast to his usually stride arrived to where all the shouting was coming from, he heard the tail end of
"What the F*** was that Stark?! Where were those god d**n reinforcements!?" Shouted Takeshi
"I'll tell you where they were! Behind a d**n blast door in Grey Mode! Shouted Wittmann
"Oh yes! ""the Captain Major"" Who did nothing to help us!
"Aside From sorting out the system you mean!" jabbing a finger into Takeshi chest
"Don't you do that to me!"
"I'm a veteran and..."
"SILENCE!!!" Shouted Hughes for the first time in days rising his voice

Takeshi was fumed. He grabbed Wittmann by the collar and pushed him to the wall. "Listen...Wittmann. I just lost, all 20 Reapers, to ONE f****** cruiser. Thanks for nothing..."
Takeshi let him go, walking away. "First Jenny...now...GOD d**n!" He slammed his fist. Then he remembered something. "The Offer...they still want a response..."
Takeshi went to his quarters, hoping noone would disturb him.

"Kitagawa" ??: Takeshi "Reaper" Kitagawa of the Sudriana? "Who is this? Wittmann? Hughes? Stark? ??: We are not of your kind, loyalist? "What? ??: We are researching your station. Your forces were destroyed because of poor cooperation... "How'd you know this?" ??: We know and see all. We are of a higher superiority. We need no rules. We are Rebels! OOC: OK guys, I'm just going to give this a bit of a pull at the moment - There's a few problems I've got here - for a start, as I mentioned previously there's a bit of confusion as to who's where doing what and everything, ETG's idea of seperate 'episodes' of the RPG is something I'd like to set up and implement, and quite frankly the updates are going too quickly for my liking. Stuff like the intercom message just above is a bit superfluous, for mine. Also, I'm finding it hard to read some of the posts as they're not very well formatted spelling and grammar wise. So for the moment can we please hold off on any updates whilst I collate the details on players, roles on the ship, whether they're a rebel or a loyalist (side note - the rebels aren't directly attacking the ship, more trying to escape), so on and so forth. Cheers all.

OOC: Hmm, let me see if I can shed light on the confusion:
- Stark is helping/sabotaging the Sudriana, showing his connection to the rebellion - Wittmann looks like he's trying to keep the SSS in order - Kitagawa has been contacted by the Rebellion in hopes he will join their cause - Thats all I know:P

OOC: I think that part of the problem is that some characters are in this state of limbo between being on the SSS and not being on the ship, because of people not posting
I think (last time i use that praise, Honest!) that we should reboot this episode and start again, but this time "flesh out" the SSS and define our characters and consider this a "beta phase".
also this is just me but what if we had another thread for character Bios so that we can leave this one free of long OOC posts.
further if we had a picture of the SSS and an internal map that could help a lot. there are lots of artists on SIF, we just need to ask one of them nicely (as in saying things like "pleaseeeee!, i'll be your friend!")
Sorry if I'm overstepping my boundary's but i think these things can improve the quality of this story

Interesting question being brought up: At what level of technology is the Sudriana at? Ours? Red Dwarf? Enterprise? Voyager? Answers on the back of a postcard...

Right, I'm in the middle of collating the hierarchical structure of the ship, its crew (both PCs and NPCs), layout, story structure (I will implement ETG's idea of having serialised adventures) etc etc. It'll be probably a couple days or so, there's a lot to go through, but one thing which I know will go is the fanciful notion of bridge time versus ship time, that was a stupid idea in the first place. All going well, I'll put up a new post after this one shortly with full details of all that needs to be done, a couple story ideas etc - but those are communal, if you have one, say it. But for the moment we've been locked in stasis on Red Dwarf. Which is odd, as we're on Sudriana. Technology is an 'as it goes' thing. Pretty much anything is fair game, but if you think it might be a bit too out there, PM me and I'll OK it or not. Also, look at the description of the skippers and SSS on the first page as a base guide to technology style that is prevalent.

OK guys, below is how I see the structure of the crew (so far) on the SSS, divided into loyalists, rebels, neutral and other, along with the characters' motivations for feeling as they do. As for ranks, the chain of command from top down is: Commodore Hughes Colonel Great Commander Stark Lieutenant Kitagawa Captain-Major Wittmann Tech-Commander Jones Sergeant Acton Corporal Rimmer John Doe (unranked, not actually on the SSS) So: Loyalists:Commodore Royston Hughes Colonel Edward Great Captain-Major Michael Wittmann (with a but) Corporal Derek Rimmer Rebels:Commander Stark - Rebel Sergeant Acton – NPC, Rebel Neutral:Tech-Commander Ricky Jones John Doe (Alien) Other:Lieutenant Takeshi Kitagawa – Divided loyalties Great is one of Hughes’ most trusted officer, willing to do anything for the good of the ship. He views this as a repayment for the faith shown in him by SiF HQ after a few incidents previously, and does not want to jeopardise that. Stark leads the rebellion, with Acton as his closest confidant, although he rarely trusts anyone. The rebellion is more trickery etc, working against the ship’s interests rather than attacking it directly. If push comes to shove Stark and the rebels will help the ship, but only so they can continue to torment it. Kitagawa leads his Reapers as a specialized force for exploration and battle (if necessary), but is often coerced by Stark to send them on missions that he wants them to do, not necessarily what Commodore Hughes says to do. Wittmann takes his job very seriously, and his mutual enmity with Stark leads to several standoff-style situations. Sometimes he is tempted to join with Stark and start to rebel, but there’s never enough there for him to fully justify it. Jones doesn’t really care either way, he’s just doing his job. Someone tells him to do something, he’ll do it. There again, much of the time he’ll do his own thing anyway. Rimmer has an unswerving devotion to the ship, as he died on service exploring a moon but was resurrected. He tries to convince Stark and co to forgo the rebellion and get back to full work, but his status as a hologram makes it difficult, simply due to the stigma being dead carries. Doe does not live on the ship, but is in constant contact as an alien perspective. Stark likes to use Doe’s contacts as a way to ‘test’ Sudriana occasionally, whilst Hughes values his ability to communicate with many forms of life and his fluency in multiple alien languages. Doe will not take one side, as he knows it immediately alienates (bad choice of words) half of the crew on the ship, so keeps himself open to all. If someone wants to kick off a new story with a bit of a basic plot and an opening, it's all yours.

I guess I will. The Chronicles of the Space Station Sudriana Log 1 (OCC: Log as in parts I guess:P) The SSS was like a glowing star in space as it slowly moved through the stars. Inside, Commador Hughes was busy working away at his data log. Everyone was about their individual duties. In the main gym, or training centre as it's called by everyone, Lt. Takeshi Kitagawa and his 20 Reapers, were training as usual. Takeshi wanted his squad at full strength and it was decided that this training routine would continue until active battle status. Reapers were elite soldiers trained from all over the world and put into Squads of 20's, when the SSS was looking for a group of soldiers, the Reapers were picked and Takeshi's squad was volunteered. Reinforcer Enforcement Attack Pursuit Entity Ranger Squads Reapers. They were the best of the best. Kitagawa had lead his men through 254 Campaigns on Earth and soon Space would be another acheivement on the resume. Suddenlly, the intercom went off. "Kitagawa, report to the bridge at once" Takeshi didn't know who had paged him, but it was off to the bridge. He put on his baggy armor, stroked his shaggy hair and went off. OCC: Whoever wants to be the one who paged me, feel free.
