Something I thought up a few days ago and thought would be quite fun. What would your ideal band? Who would you have, who would be playing what, and why would you pick them? Its something I've actually had great fun and difficulty thinking of. So much I have actually haven't got completly got mine done yet, here's what I got so far though... Drums: Zak Starkey The son of Ringo Starr and student of Keith Moon. Currently drumming for The Who and Oasis. In my opinion, he is currently one of the best drummers alive at this time. If anybody has the 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' Oasis DVD and has seen his outro on Rock 'n' Roll Star will agree with me here. However, this is lacking on YouTube so here's the best thing I could find: Click HereI've been thinking about this for two days now and have only got one slot filled, thats how hard this is . I'll update as I go along hopefully. So yeah, enjoy, discuss and remember it doesn't have to be any particular genre. It could be rock/pop/indie/hip hop whatever .

Can we include dead people? (is reminded of Stephen King's short story You Know They've Got a Hell of a Band... [shudders]
But anyway:
Vocals- Freddie Mercury, John Lennon, or Robert Plant. Guitar- so many choices! Probably Slash, David Gilmour, Brian May or Eric Clapton. Bass- Paul McCartney, Phil Lynott or John Entwhistle. Drums- John Bonham.
There you go. Really shows my musical tastes I think!

Ooh, someone else who appreciates The Moody Blues. I like your taste, Skarloey123. Vocals - Freddie Mercury and Justin Hayward. Mercury for the heavier, more powerful vocals, Hayward for the smooth and slow ballads. Also Paul Carrack is a consideration. Guitar - Brian May, Angus Young and Jimmy Page. Absolute madness from all three. Drums - Roger Taylor, far and away the best drummer I've heard. Bass - Mike Rutherford, with the added bonus that he can play guitar if necessary.

Wee, I've finally done mine! Oh, I know Tristan brought this up, I didn't really have a preference for live/dead musicians being used. I used people who were alive Its your band, but its whoever you want really. Bass Guitar: Sir Paul McCartney Okay, admittenly Macca wasn't going to be in this but I struggled to think of a good bass guitarist. I mean, thats not to say there aren't any currently but there was no-one I could think of currently who really strung into mind. So I gave it to Sir Paul. Lead Guitar: Pete Townshend The I'm going with the Brit Rock and Roll scene, you cannot disinclude a member from The (guitar smashing, awe inspiring) Who. Admittenly, much like my Oasis fandom, The Who for me was one of those in my 'their good' list. However, after searching on YouTube I saw a link to their preformance of 'Who are you' in the Concert for New York, arranged after the 9/11 disaster, and I thought I'd give it a look. I've heard off everyone how they put on live preformances, but this blew me away. The arena erupted into my headphones at the first note. Then I was shown Pete Townshend. A man who is well into his 50's play his guitar like a mad man. Struting and going mad all over the stage, giving it his all. That ability and willingless to continue preforming despite age was the true awe point for me. Rhythm Guitar/Vocals: Noel Gallagher It was never going to be a dream band for me without this man. One of the main reasons Oasis have their current success. His love for music always shows when he plays, and he even confirmed it whilst arguing with his brother. When Liam was going on about how Rock 'n' Roll was about 'aving it, Noel protested that it was about the music not anything else. Okay, there are probably better singers I could've chosen for the main vocals but Noel's for me does it here. There ye' go .

Good old-fashioned classic rock band.
Drums - Phil Collins (overrated mayhap?) Bass - Phil Lynott, or maybe Sting if the band ever needs a lute at the last minute Guitar - Pete Townsend Vocals & Lyrics - David Bowie or Rod Stewart (both distinctive voices, but not sure about Rod on the "lyrics" part)

Well I can't really come up with a hip hop band, since no rap band can beat N.W.A. but with the rock artists I've listened to here's a little idea.
Lead Vocals- Adam Levine, Martin Johnson, Howlin' Pelle Almqvist (Back up vocals) Guitar- James Valentine, Justin Warfield, Adam Bravin Bass- Paul McCartney, Dr. Matt Destruction Drums- Ringo Starr, Christian Grahn, John Keefe DJ's- Dr. Dre, DJ Yella
