Old news Tim. I think it's in February or March. A few mates have tickets anyway. I've heard a few things of his, but generally I don't go out of my way to find them. I reckon Bohemian Polka and Eat It are easily his best works, although I like his polkas which are conglomerates of about 10 of his songs as well. And I don't consider b*stard swearing, myself...

I had no idea he was coming here! ;D I'd be ecstatic to go to one of his concerts. It's a shame however the Gold Coast is the only place he's going near me.

In the music video for White and Nerdy he gets revenge on Atlantic Records, for not letting him put Your Pitiful ( parody of James Blunt's Your Beautiful) on his CD, by typing on Wikipedia "You Suck" on the article for Atlantic Records.

Uh, Stepneydudette... are yopu encouraging pirating Al songs, even when he goes and writes a song about it?!
Seriously, as if "Don't Download This Song" wasn't enough to make people stop, I don't know what is.

You're right, it is illegal, and I respect your pointing that out to me. ...although remember "Don't Download This Song" was a joke. Al personally has said that he has no problem with pirating music.

I just watched Spicks and Specks (an Australian Tv music quiz show) AND "WEIRD AL" YANKOVIC WAS ONE OF THE SPECIAL GUESTS!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
They showed clips from some of his music videos, and in a game called Substitute (where the contestants have to sing well known songs to the words of an unknown book), he was chosen to sing. It was like three new theasaurus-themed song parodies.
I LOVED IT.

Weird Al is one of the most, if not THE most, talented parody artists in the world. And I'm not afraid to say this: he is a genius. Sheer brilliance. Especially when he wrote songs like Like A Surgeon, Bob, and This Is The Life, among many more.

I'm a bit of a neutral Al fan. His rap parodies are good, like Amish Paradise (of Gangsta's Paradise by Coolio), White N Nerdy (of Ridin' by Chamillionaire) and Couch Potato (of Lose Yourself by Eminem). Though for Amish Paradise he never asked Coolio for permission to parody it, at least not directly that is, Coolio and Al' had a semi-beef too. Eminem also seems to dislike Al' a little. He wouldn't let Couch Potato be a single. But Al's Polka's (especially the most recent one) are awesome.

Oh boy, I think Weird Al is the funniest guy in the 80's, especially he performed "I Lost on Jeopardy!" back in 1984. Also he appeared on Wheel of Fortune in 1994!! Here, check it out!!

(blows off thread)
I'm not sure if I was aware of Weird Al prior to 2007, but I know I heard of the guy in the summer of 2007 thanks to James Rolfe's review of the 1986 Transformers movie. I didn't hear his stuff until months later after getting in a Michael Jackson craze when I saw his rendition of "Bad". I'm not a big fan of Weird Al compare to others, but I like listening to his stuff from time to time.
Has anybody saw that movie starring Daniel Radcliffe that was released a few months ago?

I actually went to a weird al concert last year, specifically the Unfortunate Return of the Ridiculously Self-Indulgent Ill-Advised Vanity tour, it was such a great time, it was sold out, and everyone got excited when he played Alberquereue at the end, by the way when he plays it live, he extends the donut segment for like an additional 5-6 minutes making the live version of the song 18-20 minutes. One of the greatest times of my life!
