A question for all of the UK members...
How popular is snooker in the UK? As a Canadian, my exposure to professional snooker is limited exclusively to YouTube. I think it's a beautiful game. Canada had a good representation in the 1980s with Cliff Thorburn, Kirk Stevens, and "Big Bill" Werbeniuk. Today though, I compare being a snooker fan in Canada to be hockey fan in England. There's just not the resources available as one would get in the "home" country of a sport.
From a Canadian snooker fan, I want to hear about your snooker experiences!

Not really into it myself. Amongst the UK Thomas fanbase, I know Steam3211 follows it very closely so he'd be a good one to speak to on the subject. Regarding popularity in this country, I'd say it's definitely up there, although not quite at the level of football (soccer). A good friend of mine married his American girlfriend a few years ago, and when she moved over to the UK to live with him she was amazed at how often snooker gets shown on TV. Apparently it gets very little coverage in the US.

Shouldn't this question go into the Sport topic on Page 4 of this board? As for me, I only watch the intro to look at Hazel Irvine who is one of my most loved celebs, though I did watch Big Break when I was a kid.
