This thread is where you can talk about everything to do with Busted and its members: Charlie Simpson, Matt Willis and James Bourne.
I have been an all-time fan of this band ever since I was a kid. Listening to 'Year 3000' and 'Crashed the Wedding' during the 00s, I've had great memories associated with Busted's hits! I listened to their albums and songs non-stop! My favourite tracks would have to be 'Thunderbirds Are Go', 'Air Hostess' followed by 'Crashed the Wedding' and 'You Said No'.
I could never understand why they split up in 2005 (they'd only released two studio albums and one live album!). As a kid, it was confusing cus it happened during the peak of their success and they were mine and my best friend's favourite band ever!
I remember listening to Son of Dork back in 2006 with Ticket Outta Loserville but then they fell off the map and they weren't in my sights growing up after that. I was pleased when Matt and James played in that supergroup McBusted a few years back as it was great to see them back in the spotlight again bringing back that pop-punk sound.
But I was even more thrilled in 2015 when Charlie came back to reunited with James and Matt! Their third album released in 2016, Night Driver, is unique and one that I think worked in their favour. Night Driver's electro-pop sound and change in logo showed that they were reforming to produce new music AS A BAND and not just a vain attempt to relive the glory days of yesteryear. I understand why some people are not a fan of Night Driver as it was a far cry from their familiar pop-punk sound, but I really like it! If they eventually choose that sound to be permanent in their songs, then I won't mind.
However, I am MOST EXCITED for their fourth studio album, Half Way There, out on 1st February this year! From the singles they've released from the album like 'Nineties', 'Reunion' and 'Radio', they sound so, SO INCREDIBLE! Moreover, I had a ticket given as a Christmas present to see them play Live in March at Birmingham Resorts World Arena during their 2019 Tour!
As for my favourite member? That honour has to go to James Bourne. Purely because he's been the brains behind most of their hits and is just a talented musician. My vocal range is also similar to his on the albums so when his parts come on is when I know I can sing along in a tuneful manner...! Plus, I've always had a soft spot for him since I was a kid.
Busted, for me, has always been about showing how cool and awesome it is to play musical instruments or being part of a band, doing jumps with guitars and basses and rocking on being boys. Having fun with your friends and not caring about anyone else's opinion of you. That's why Busted is special in my heart.
Let me know if you're a Busted fan too! What's your favourite album? What do you like about them?
