So, I decided to make a thread decdicated to Nintendo's new system, hehe :3
I currently have one pre-ordered along with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and I can't wait to receive it ^_^ Had a chance to play it earlier today at a special event, and I was quite impressed - it's surprising how small the system is, but still quite impressive that you can take massive console games like Zelda and Mario Kart and play them on the go.
Among the games we know are coming to the system, I think I'm looking forward to Xenoblade 2 and Super Mario Odyssey the most :3
Anyone else planning to get a Switch? What games are you looking forward to? Let's discuss ^_^

I'm looking into getting a Switch at some point, although I want to watch it for a while and see what happens before I actually get one. That, and I may want one for my birthday the month after it launches (subtle hint people ) In terms of games, I don't think I'll get Zelda on it, as I can just get that for my Wii U instead. I've beaten every Zelda game to date (grew up on Zelda II, had no idea it was one of the hardest Zelda titles at the time) and am definitely looking forward to an open world experience. Other games so far include Mario Odyssey and possibly MK8D if it offers enough to warrant a purchase. Otherwise, it's just a case of wait and see. I've only just got my old N64 and Gamecube up and running again, so I've plenty to keep me occupied in the meantime. All my 2004 save files! I'm also interested to see what it can do besides play games, and just how portable it is. Might be nice to have a tablet thing for games and internety stuff whilst on 3-4 hour train journeys.... I mean, who here likes trains?

Picked up my Switch earlier, much smaller than expected but looks like a good system in the limited time I've had on it.
Find the pricing on the pro controller to be ridiculous though. At £65 it's £15 more expensive than Zelda in Asda!
I picked up Zelda as everyone seems to be raving about it, but am thinking Bomberman might have been a better decision. Love some Bomberman but 3D Zelda never outdid Link to the Past IMO.

Anyone here playing the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire? I'm having fun with it, though it's reminding me how bad I am at the game, hehe :3

I can say I'm a proud owner of a red and blue Switch, I already beat Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Oddessy, and Sonic Mania on it.

YES!!! I've always been a Nintendo fan, and after the Wii U (I'm 28) I was starting to feel turned off by gaming, even from Nintendo! Enter the Switch - it brought me back to loving gaming like a kid again. Seriously, the Switch is this generation's N64. the concept and design are genius. And third party titles are flowing to the system more and more in ways not seen since probably the Gamecube (and at this rate by the end of the system's life it could have a third party library comparable to the SNES days). Nintendo is also finally making games again that aren't casual-focused. Mario Odyssey is the best Mario since 64 in my opinion, and you could argue Breath of the Wild is the same towards Ocarina of Time. I'm so happy this system is becoming so successful (selling faster than the Wii....THE WII), and Nintendo deserves every bit of it. They truly created one of the best gaming systems of all time.
......but about that online....

Has anyone noticed that 2020 is a slow year for Nintendo fans? Unless you're like, SUPER into the indie stuff.

The Switch was a console I did thought on getting a few years after it was launched, but during that time, I wasn't into gaming due to work and reinvesting into model trains. That changed since late 2021/early 2022 after my mom came over with her Switch and played the new Animal Crossing. I really loved it as it was my first Animal Crossing game since the Gamecube. I later bought my own Switch and games after that. Has anyone noticed that 2020 is a slow year for Nintendo fans? Unless you're like, SUPER into the indie stuff. I'm not sure if it was. Then again, COVID kinda put things on hold and Animal Crossing was something everybody on the Switch was for.
