Things sure are quiet around here. Time for the comeback tour!
So in preparation for The Book of Souls, I recently marathoned all my Iron Maiden albums. It's been a very long time since I heard most of them in full and frankly I'd forgotten how just intricately written and epically awesome some of those deep cuts were. Remember Tomorrow, Children of the Damned, Alexander the Great, Only the Good Die Young, Sign of the Cross, Paschendale, When the Wild Wind Blows... The list goes on and on.
Also just finished a (much shorter) marathon of the Arctic Monkeys' stuff. First two albums are still pretty much perfect, Humbug and Suck It and See hold up much better than I remember while A.M. surprisingly feels rather cold and distant compared to my last listen. It did encourage me to buy up more of their B-sides from iTunes, which are straight-up excellent. Seriously, most bands don't even bother with B-sides anymore, let alone anything as good as Sketchead or Evil Twin or Bigger Boys and Stolen Sweethearts. Keep it up, lads.

I absolutely love Iron Maiden! I really can't wait 'til The Book Of Souls comes out. Just a moment ago, I was listening to "Rock You To Hell" by Grim Reaper... another one of those New Wave Of British Heavy Metal bands. They're also supposed to release a new album this year.

Musical Theatre mostly, such as Cats and Jersey Boys (musical about the band, 'Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons'). That song, 'December 1963' - catchy and enjoyable!

I'm listening to Eminem, D-12, Dr Dre, Coolio, 2 Pac, Nickelback, Within Temptation, The Corrs, Brian Adams, Nightwish & Bon Jovi at the moment, those are all favourite artists of mine, I'm really into my old school hip hop, rock & metal.

Right now, I have two main jams, the first one is "Golden Days" by Panic! at the Disco. This is easily my favorite song by them, I like the reminiscing atmosphere of the whole thing. My other song which I've been listening to a lot recently is "Breathe (2 AM)" by Anna Nalick. This has got to be one of the greatest songs that I have ever heard. It is exceedingly well written and well composed, and it's actually about something. Great song. I don't have a lot of variety, I usually find one or two songs and then spam them on repeat until I hate them.

I'll give this thread a little love. I've always enjoyed listening to Mark Tremonti belt out some amazing guitar solos in Creed and Alter Bridge but the man has a powerful voice in his own right. I've been really enjoying his solo work with Dust. Then It Has Begun with some Starset on the playlist. And we'll Seal the Deal and Boogie with Volbeat.
